Senators Push Brennan
on Misleading Testimony

Weekly Standard, by Stephen F. Hayes

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 2/15/2013 8:38:16 PM

John Brennan, President Obama’s nominee to run the Central Intelligence Agency, is getting renewed scrutiny for a highly questionable claim he made during his confirmation hearings last week. On Tuesday, two Republicans on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, Marco Rubio and James Risch, wrote to Brennan to request additional information concerning Ali Harzi, a suspect in the attacks on U.S. facilities in Benghazi. Brenan, in an exchange with Rubio, had said of Harzi that the U.S. government “didn’t have anything on him.” The claim is almost certainly false.

Comments:
The should not let up on him. Unfortunately, you know he will be confirmed. I grieve for our nation.

Its hard now to get very excited at these (really) meaningless hearings. Now that we realize Brennan lying (or not) will be confirmed anyway, what does it matter?

John Brennan just can´t stop perjuring himself under oath.

This seems to be a common trait among Democrat appointees.

These hearings of Obama´s latest proposed appointees are such Capitol Kabuki. Every single one of them, lying through their teeth. And everyone knows it. I half expect the questioners to start asking nonsense gibberish and the replies to be in similar gibberish just to further mock the public with their overt acknowledgement that it´s all a farce.

Without cooperation, though, the potential fight over Brennan´s nomination could get uglier in a hurry.

Let it get ugly, then. It´s about time the GOP "got ugly" about the flood of lies coming out of this White House, this Administration and their Agencies and surrogates.

The GOP needs to "get ugly. It would be a refreshing change from going all wobbly. Where is Maggie Thatcher when we need her?

Benghazi Report, by Jack Murphy and Brandon Webb.

[snip] - “Because John Brennan is running his own private war, he is not going through the normal chain of command, and operations are not deconflicted. Ambassador Stevens, for instance, was not read on to the JSOC operations in Libya. He was kept in the dark and ultimately killed in a retaliation that he never could have seen coming. “
-If the CIA is not gathering intelligence on potential attacks via HUMINT or SIGINT, who the hell is? Was there any of that going on? There had to have been a catalyst, even if the bulk of the assault didn’t take place until hours after the initial breach. There is always a thread running somewhere. Our intelligence assets were either kept completely in the dark by the coordinators of this assault, or someone dropped the ball.

Wouldn´t you wish America had conservative mainstream media, where flyover unwashed could have a glimpse of what is happening in politics. Like they do today when they are watching/reading about sports or weather or food and wine and catch a glimpse of fascist/commie lies in local newspapers or TV stations? (Btw, have you noticed how much praise obozo gets on local TV? It never happened before, even in clinton era.)
And the other thought my conspiracy ridden mind returns to all these 3 months after elections: we haven´t heard any explanation that makes sense why repubics lost? I don´t buy that conservatives stayed at home! Not in 2012! Most likely the establishment repubics were threatened that if obozo is not "nominated" there will be riots in the streets. I don´t see another explanation to obozo´s cool, his body language during debates... It´s like he knew the final outcome. And, btw, romney´s refusal to actually debate obozo!

Yes, the media is utterly over the top with their Obama protective mode. They piled on during the Clinton-Monica scandal even, but now they never have any criticism or hard questions for Obie. It is a very different atmosphere for this Prez, and I don´t really get it at all.

As for these hearings, why bother with them? They always are along party lines, not what´s best for the country. Brennan is rough stuff, he will be confirmed, and Obie will run him too. He´ll be glad to do whatever nefarious things he has to in order to kowtow to Obama the Great.

Well, this is one way to handle corruption and government abuse: Make it the official thing to do. A group of Democratic senators urged the Obama administration on Thursday to cap the amount of political activity that tax-exempt 501(c)(4) groups can engage in at 5 to 15 percent. The 15 senators, in public comments on a proposed regulation change that grew out of the IRS targeting controversy, said that the rules need to ensure that 501(c)(4)s can’t use their tax-exempt status to go around campaign finance rules. “You will undoubtedly receive complaints from certain corners that these proposed rules will
