Funding is running low for health
insurance in state high risk pools

Washington Post, by N.C. Aizenman

Tens of thousands of Americans who can’t get health insurance due to pre-existing medical problems will be blocked from a program designed to help them because funding for the measure is running low. Obama administration officials said Friday that the state-based “high risk pools” set up under the 2010 health-care law will be closed to new applicants as soon as Saturday and no later than March 2, depending on the state. However, they stressed that coverage for about 100,000 people who are currently enrolled in the high risk pools won’t be affected.

Comments:
A shortage is a de facto death panel. Welcome to Obamacare, suckers.

First we need another tax increase to fund the death panels.

I´m confused. How do they know that there are thousands of uninsured people with pre-existing conditions? Maybe the people with no health insurance aren´t seeing doctors because they´re healthy.

All you all missed the point entirely.

The fact that the funding is inadequate is merely the proof that more funding is needed.

Not just thousands uncovered but tens of thousands want to join the 100,000 already in the tent. So the answer is to(double the funding (b triple the funding, or no limit on the funding.

Sorry, but I have had a problem with this just as many individuals that have insurance through their employer that never use it because they are young or never sick.
Why aren´t those people offsetting the sick ones ?

Sorry for mistake. Bad week.

Sorry, but I have had a problem with this issue for many years. There are just as many individuals that have insurance through their employer that never use it because they are young or never sick.

On Sunday evening, award-winning actor and prominent left-wing activist Alec Baldwin announced that he was leaving "public life"--and blamed "Roger Ailes. And Fox. And Breitbart." In an extended rant to Joe Hogan, posted on vulture.com and published in New York magazine, Baldwin recounted his run-ins with paparazzi, his gay slur controversies, and his ill-fated talk show on MSNBC--but he reserved special resentment for Breitbart. "There is a core of outlets that are pushing these stories out. Breitbart clutters the blogosphere with ´Alec Baldwin, he’s the Devil, he’s Fidel Baldwin,´" Baldwin claimed. "....And this is all about hate.

Singer Miley Cyrus may have thumbed her nose at critics of her risqué Bangerz tour, but parents and concerned citizen groups are still weighing in on what many see as a performer who is evolving into a symbol of cultural decay. As Breitbart News’ Christian Toto has reported, Cyrus tweeted a message to critics of her racy on-stage antics: “Save your complaints for the McDonalds drive thru when they forget the ‘fries with that.’” People has reported Cyrus’ latest surprise. It’s hard to understand exactly why Susan Rice is still refusing to admit fault about her lies about the Benghazi attack. When asked this morning on Meet the Press by David Gregory whether she had any regrets about appearing on four network news shows the Sunday after the 9/11/12 attacks that took the lives of four Americans and telling the nation that what happened was the result of a demonstration against a video, Rice said she had none: David, no. Because what I said to you that morning, and what I did every day since, was to share the best

The Obama administration is launching an “attack” on the Medicare Advantage and Medicare Part D programs as part of Obamacare that will result in higher costs and fewer health care options for seniors, according to a U.S. House subcommittee. The administration is quietly introducing “policies that would undermine the integrity and success of the Medicare Part D program” according to the subcommittee. President Bush signed Medicare Part D into law in 2003 to subsidize prescription drug costs for Medicare beneficiaries. The Daily Caller has learned that the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s Subcommittee on Health will hold a hearing Feb.

The head of the Fritz Pollard Alliance, which monitors diversity in the NFL, expects the league to institute a rule where players would be penalized 15 yards for using the N-word on the field. John Wooten, the head of the Fritz Pollard Alliance, anticipates that the NFL´s competition committee will enact the rule at the owners´ meeting next month. "We did talk about it, I´m sure that you saw near the end of the year that Fritz Pollard (Alliance) came out very strong with the message that the league needs to do something about the language on the field," said

Employees of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) destroyed veterans’ medical files in a systematic attempt to eliminate backlogged veteran medical exam requests, a former VA employee told The Daily Caller. Audio of an internal VA meeting obtained by TheDC confirms that VA officials in Los Angeles intentionally canceled backlogged patient exam requests.“The committee was called System Redesign and the purpose of the meeting was to figure out ways to correct the department’s efficiency. And one of the issues at the time was the backlog,” Oliver Mitchell, a Marine veteran and former patient services assistant in the VA Greater Los

There have been times when the CNN host Piers Morgan didn’t seem to like America very much — and American audiences have been more than willing to return the favor. Three years after taking over for Larry King, Mr. Morgan has seen the ratings for “Piers Morgan Live” hit some new lows, drawing a fraction of viewers compared with competitors at Fox News and MSNBC. (Snip) It’s been an unhappy collision between a British television personality who refuses to assimilate — the only football he cares about is round and his lectures on guns were rife with contempt — and a CNN audience that

The Obama administration warned Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday not to react too aggressively to the fast-moving developments in Ukraine, where pro-Western demonstrators forced the nation’s Moscow-backed president from power over the weekend. National Security Adviser Susan E. Rice said the situation unfolding in Kiev “reflects the will of the Ukrainian people and the interests of the United States and Europe,” and that Russia would be making a “grave mistake” if it sends in military forces to try to reverse the developments — or to seize control of pro-Moscow eastern Ukraine. The Putin government has shown no outward signs

Former Vice President Dick Cheney responded Monday night to the Obama administration’s proposal to cut the U.S. Army to its lowest point since before World War II. Calling into Fox News’ “Hannity,” Cheney declared the proposed cuts to be “absolutely dangerous” and “just devastating.” “I have not been a strong supporter of Barack Obama. But this really is over the top. It does enormous long-term damage to our military,” Cheney said. ”They act as though it is like highway spending and you can turn it on and off. She may not look anywhere near her 76 years but Jane Fonda says she is well aware of her age. The Hollywood legend – who has made her career in an industry which isn´t exactly kind to aging actresses - admits she has been brought to tears on more than one occasion recently as she comes to terms with her own mortality. In a thoughtful blog post entitled ´Crying´, which has since been removed, Jane wrote: ´[I´ve been thinking], how come my tears are so close to the surface? And I’ve come to feel it has to do with age

If this Harvard University student got her way, free speech on campus would be abolished and professors with dissenting views fired, because radical leftism is the only permissible political philosophy and the First Amendment is a barrier preventing modern colleges from fulfilling their proper role as indoctrination camps. Her name is Sandra Korn. She is a senior at Harvard and columnist for the Harvard Crimson. In a recent column, Korn unambiguously insisted that the university should stop guaranteeing professors and students the right to hold controversial views and pursue research that challenges liberalism. “If our university community opposes racism, sexism, and heterosexism, why

DETROIT -- In a fiery speech Sunday delivered to 18,000 at Joe Louis Arena, Minister Louis Farrakhan blasted the judicial systems in the U.S. as being biased against African Americans, calling upon the community to set up their own courts. "We want equal justice under the law," Farrakhan said on the last day of the Nation of Islam´s annual convention, held in Detroit this year. "Our people can´t take much more. We have to have our own courts." With Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., and Detroit City Council President Brenda Jones sitting behind him, Farrakhan spoke for nearly three hours, reiterating the Nation
