Federal prosecutors in Washington today charged both Jesse Jackson Jr. and his wife, Sandi, alleging the former congressman misused $750,000 in campaign funds while she understated their income on tax returns for six years. (Snip) Jackson Jr., 47, a Democrat from Chicago, was charged with one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, mail fraud and false statements. He faces up to five years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000 and other penalties. Sandi Jackson was charged with one count of filing false tax returns. She faces up to three years in prison,

But this is penny ante stuff compared to his dad, the Reverend Jackson, who has more slush fund charitable accounts than Bill Clinton does. Do not forget the the Reverend bought a really big house in california for his mistress, who bore their bast*rd child, and he kept his mistress on the payroll. And the funds came from one of his charitable foundation accounts - accounts which are never audited by the IRS.

Speaking of the Rev has he made any comments about this situation? I figured he would be screaming racism by now but maybe not.

How can it possibly be fair for Sandi Jackson to be facing a three-year prison term for underestimating her income on her tax returns when America´s Secretary of the Treasury paid no penalty whatsoever for not filing any tax returns at all?

And why is Jesse Jackson,Jr. getting the the full force of the law thrown at him for misuse of campaign funds when the Democratic Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Robert Menendez, is not even facing Congressional censure for his illegal campaign machinations coupled with credible accusations of pedophilia?

If ever there was a time for Jesse Jackson,Sr. to be making accusations of racist double standards, it´s now, but of course since Tim Geithner and Robert Menendez are Democrats, we´re not likely to hear a peep out of the Reverend.

President Barack Obama’s appearance on funnyordie.com’s parody show “Between Two Ferns,” where he took mock questions from comic Zach Galifianakis, was a lot of things: funny, unusual, an intriguing way to sell Obamacare and very popular. One thing it was not, though, was an “interview” — unless you’re White House press secretary Jay Carney. Carney was defending the administration’s aggressive campaign to get young people to sign up for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act. (Snip)That’s some quality trolling of the media by Carney, a former Time magazine bureau chief.

BURBANK, Calif.—A 3-year-old boy who fell out of a third-story window in Burbank was saved by a quick-acting couple who threw a mattress out to break his fall. KABC-TV reports Konrad Lightner and his wife, Jennifer, were moving out of their apartment Sunday when they noticed the toddler and his sister throwing their toys out the window. When they saw the little boy throw his leg over the window sill, Konrad rushed to put the mattress down. He was able to break the child’s fall, placing him onto the mattress. The toddler was taken to a local hospital for evaluation,

California public health officials say 19 of the 32 cases of measles they have confirmed so far this year are in people who had not been vaccinated, and of that group, 14 were intentionally not vaccinated. As the number of measles cases continues to grow across the state — there were only three by this time last year — officials at the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) have urged parents against opting out of vaccinating their children. They say an increase in the number of people choosing not to vaccinate could drive a resurgence of the respiratory disease, since

VILNIUS, Lithuania—Vice President Biden’s we’re-all-in-this together tour of Eastern Europe, a two-country stop that concludes here Wednesday, has highlighted not only the growing regional anxieties over Russia’s designs on Ukraine but also how much work the Obama administration has to do to convince allies of its support. At its core, Biden’s message here and in Poland was a simple reaffirmation of what one senior administration official called a “bedrock commitment”: The United States would honor NATO’s basic premise that if one member nation is attacked, all would come to its defense. Paris has 147 micrograms of particulate matter per cubic meter of air, compared with 81 in Berlin and 79.7 in London. The expected rate hikes will be announced in the coming months amid an intense election year, when control of the Senate is up for grabs.
