Rubio vs. Menendez:
A tale of two Hispanic
senators and media hypocrisy

The Hill, by Cheri Jacobus

A Hispanic Republican senator drinks water on TV, and the media demolish him. A Hispanic Democratic senator is accused of having sex with underage prostitutes, and the media ignores it. Freshman Republican Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, by any definition a rising star in politics, was an obvious choice to deliver the GOP response to the State of the Union address. He’s smart, a great communicator, hard-working, sincere, and proud of his Cuban heritage and his Republican affiliation. He connects his heritage with his reasons for being a Republican in ways that scare the heck

Ah, but the ´liberal´ issue could be explained away...

Water, you see...is a ´scarce natural resource´ and by drinking water on television, Rubio was slapping the faces of all those who cannot obtain clean drinking water in third world countries...

On the other hand, under-age hookers are plentiful - particularly in the hotel rooms of liberal politicians.

See? Or rather...Nothing to see here folks...move along...

One question: If Rubio´s drink of water could "jeopardize his future political career," will the photos we all saw of a drunken, passed out Chelsea Clinton being dumped into the back seat of a car outside a nightclub jeopardize hers?

The world waits.

The big difference here, obviously, is that Menedez has no aspirations for the Presidency. He is a smuck, and that is the end of that story. The ´Son of A Bartender´, on the other hand, is out hawking his biography, writting amnesty legislation with Durbin and Schumer, and is being crammed down our throats by the baffons in "conservative" media land. We are told by Life magazine that he is the savior of the Republican Party, but he can´t get through a single speech without having a nervous breakdown like he is making a debut with the high school debate team or something.

#3, taking a drink of water isn´t having a nervous breakdown. Thanks for the descriptive user name.

If bending down to fetch a bottle of water looks silly for a senator, what does bending down to the King of Saudi Arabia look like for a president.

~~The left´s commitment to destroy a Hispanic Republican is as strong as its commitment to destroy GOP African-Americans.~~

Surprising story to see posted on The Hill. Perhaps others will follow suit?

Does anybody remember Rubio´s speech or just the desire for a sip of water ? Maybe the guy is a diabetic and doesn´t know it.

On the other hand, Zippy doesn´t know jack, but man, what a speaker.

Why didn´t we elect the top speaker from the Toastmaster´s Club in that case ?

GOP needs a talent search

The cavalcade of post-election autopsy analysis as the GOP and detractors attempt to make sense of it all has been interesting and instructive. The left-wing mainstream media and Democrats gleefully jeer that the Obama victory is proof positive the GOP is the party of old white men, is racist and sexist and condemned to the annals of history. It’s called gloating, and they are having a simply marvelous time rubbing the collective GOP nose in it. In the fullness of hindsight, history will view President Obama as perhaps the worst of our presidents. And as former GE CEO Jack Welch said, Mitt Romney was

Since Monday night's debate, I've heard scores of Romney supporters express disappointment and surprise that Mitt Romney did not hammer away at President Obama on growing scandal regarding the attacks in Benghazi that killed Ambassador Stevens and three other Americans. But it likely wasn't a Romney gaffe — Romney's near-silence on Benghazi was on purpose.

Sen. John McCain says he doesn´t understand the threats from some of his Republican colleagues to filibuster a bill on background checks to buy guns. "I don´t understand it," the Arizona Republican said on Sunday of the threat coming from Sen. Rand Paul,Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Mike Lee and nine other Republicans. "The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote and to let the people know where we stand.” "What are we afraid of? ... If this issue is as important as we all think it is, why not take ... it up and debate?"

Michelle Obama has admitted that she is already tired of the bangs she first sported in January. The First Lady said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight: ´Bangs are a day-by-day proposition. They´re starting to grow out, get a little irritating.´ Still, she hasn´t let her hairdo woes get her down. ´It´s okay,´ she said after her initial complaint. ´We´ll be good.´ The first indication that her hairstyle was becoming a burden came about last weekend, when Malia, 14, was spotted adjusting her mother´s hair during the White House Easter Egg Roll.

North Korea’s young leader Kim Jong-un is waiting for United States President Barack Obama to make a phone call to Pyongyang to discuss easing tensions on the Korean peninsula, according to Russia’s news agency Itar-Tass. The report cited United Kingdom diplomats, saying Pyongyang was demanding the U.S. president personally call Kim Jong-un as one of the conditions to relieve the current conflict at hand. Itar-Tass also quoted the U.K.’s Sky News as saying North Korea currently has eight nuclear warheads.

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

Los Angeles — Some people have had it with TV. They´ve had enough of the 100-plus channel universe. They don´t like timing their lives around network show schedules. They´re tired of $100-plus monthly bills. A growing number of them have stopped paying for cable and satellite TV service, and don´t even use an antenna to get free signals over the air. (Snip) Last month, the Nielsen Co. started labeling people in this group "Zero TV" households, because they fall outside the traditional definition of a TV home. Annette Funicello, the dark-haired darling of TV´s “The Mickey Mouse Club” in the 1950s who further cemented her status as a pop-culture icon in the ´60s by teaming with Frankie Avalon in a popular series of “beach” movies, died Monday. She was 70. On Friday, Sean Hannity brought Pat Smith, mother of the late Sean Smith, on his radio program. The 34-year-old information management officer was one of four Americans murdered in the Benghazi embassy attack on September 11, 2012. In the chilling interview, a distraught Ms. Smith, in tears, pleaded for answers and spoke of the efforts to silence her. Ms. Smith first relayed how her son, prior to the attack, requested additional security in advance and warned the State Department: He did tell them, ahead of time, he typed it into his little typewriter over there,

More than 700 Special Operations veterans are urging members of Congress to back a select committee to investigate last year’s Benghazi terrorist attack, according to a letter first obtained by Fox News. The letter from the group, “Special Operations Speaks,” supports the appointment of a special committee tasked with the single mission of investigating the attack that left Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans dead, and shut down the CIA operation in an annex of the Benghazi consulate, in the Sept. 11, 2012 attack. “Congress must show some leadership and provide answers to the public

Chelsea Clinton has raised her profile in the last few days, which sparked the inevitable question about the former first daughter´s future: Will she ever be like Mom and Dad and run for office? Clinton, 33, essentially said "maybe" in an interview that aired Monday on NBC´s Today show. "Right now I´m grateful to live in a city, a state and a country where I strongly support my mayor, my governor, my president and my senators and my representative," said Clinton, whose father, Bill, was president from 1993-2001 and her mother, Hillary

Susan Patton, the Princeton alumna who became famous for her letter urging Ivy League women to use their college years to find a mate, has been denounced as a traitor to feminism, to coeducation, to the university ideal. But really she’s something much more interesting: a traitor to her class. Her betrayal consists of being gauche enough to acknowledge publicly a truth that everyone who’s come up through Ivy League culture knows intuitively —
