| Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) on Friday questioned how President Obama was able to sleep on the night of September 11, 2012, knowing that the U.S. consulate was under attack and the lives of U.S. officials were at risk. "I have no idea if the President required a sleep aid that night, but if he did, anybody else in America has trouble sleeping, you better get what he had, because it works well," Gohmert said on the House floor. "How the President of the United States can sleep that night, as the ambassador that he put in place, that

I have trouble sleeping at night because of what this despicable man did to Christopher Stevens and the other people who were killed in Benghazi. In fact, I am having trouble sleeping at night because of most things this despicable man has been doing over the past 4 years.

Maybe he had a late night call with Jay Z and Beyonce, discussing important issues such as to lip sync or not to lip sync the national anthem at the inauguration.
Its right to question how he could sleep through that. What´s more, there should be more than just a Republican asking that question. I suspect there will be some others asking the same thing very soon. At least it should be.

Wouldn´t the GOP know the presumed story by now? I saw Sean Smith´s mother on Greta´s show recently and she has heard nothing about anything. Did she even get to bury him? Actually Congress is trying to get a list of the 30 survivors and copies of their interviews ( done on 9/13) from the FBI .i guess the GOP will hold the confirmation vote on Hagel until the FBI complies. Hopefully Hagel will withdraw his nomination next week, and we can hold Brennan´s confirmation at CIA hostage until the FBI is forthcoming. Just a LITTLE problem with transparency for Obama.

And we can reduce our deficit, stabilize our debt, and do so without sacrificing the kinds of investments that are going to be required to grow. During his remarks, the president spoke of the

One of the first political issues negotiators must tackle in crafting an immigration reform bill is among the most important: what to name it. It’s a decision that will bruise egos, create legacies and deeply affect subsequent messaging battles. “Every time the bill is mentioned in the press, you either have a brand that´s positive or a brand that doesn´t mean anything or even hurts you,” said Frank Sharry, the executive director of the pro-immigration reform group America’s Voice. The wrong name, he warned, could doom a good bill. “If there´s not a

In a revelation that may have Colorado voters rethinking their state’s push on gun control, court documents revealed that the mass shooting in Aurora that killed 12 and injured 70 more could have been prevented by law enforcement. The psychiatrist for suspect, James Holmes, had warned campus police that Holmes was dangerous and homicidal a month before the shooting took place. Lynne Fenton even told the police that Holmes had begun to stalk and threaten her, and yet no action was apparently taken: A University of Colorado psychiatrist told campus police a month before the Aurora

President Obama is eager to build public support for his health care overhaul in the few months remaining before its implementation, but waning enthusiasm from Democrats threatens his effort right out of the gate. Two-thirds of Democrats now believe Obama´s health care reforms will either hurt them personally or have no effect on their daily lives, a Quinnipiac University poll released Thursday shows. In comparison, just 27 percent of Democratic respondents said the reforms would help them. The president has long struggled to convince independent and Republican-leaning voters that his health care blueprint would lower premiums and expand insurance coverage.

President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Irin Carmon does a great job in Salon in laying out the bounds of propriety for when it´s appropriate to talk about a woman´s looks as a general matter. But I´ve long felt we lack a solid theoretical underpinning for easily discussing these issues, and why precisely it is that

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank

Gluten-free diets are all the rage, but they can be dangerous if not done right. What is gluten? It´s the spongy complex of proteins, found naturally in wheat, rye, and barley, that gives elasticity to dough and allows it to rise. When flour is moistened and either kneaded or mixed into dough, gluten molecules form an elastic, microscopic latticework that traps the carbon dioxide produced when yeast ferments, causing dough to inflate like a hot air balloon. Baking hardens the gluten, which helps the finished product keep its shape. Wheat — and gluten — is ubiquitous in the American diet.
