FAA moves closer
to widespread US drone
flights with plan for test sites

Washington - A future in which unmanned drones are as common in U.S. skies as helicopters and airliners has moved a step closer to reality with a government request for proposals to create six drone test sites around the country. The Federal Aviation Administration made the request Thursday, kicking off what is anticipated to be an intense competition between states hoping to win one of the sites. The FAA also posted online a draft plan for protecting people´s privacy from the eyes in the sky. The plan would require each test site to follow federal and state laws

"You are being watched. The government has a secret system, a machine that spies on you every hour of every day." I guess we´ll be believing "Person of Interest" from now on. In case you missed this video from another article posted earlier, watch what can be "seen" by off-the-shelf phone cameras connected within one of these drones.

I guess the Obama government has figured out it would take too long and put storm troopers at risk doing house by house searched for guns.

Obama claims that domestic drones won´t be armed, how many people believe that. The real use for drones should be used to tack down drug and human smugglers but of course they won´t be.

Obama´s playing an inch by inch game to overthrow this government and huge swaths of objectors could be taken out by these things.

Gun owners just don´t represent gun ownership but a pro traditional America mindset the left is out to destroy. They figure they might only have 4 years because there´s no guarantee they can win the next election, especially with a 70 year old Hillary being the candidate.

FoxNews is already being banned by a left wing professor. If that goes unchallenged,it could start a huge trend in the education system.Free speech means agreeing with liberals. They don´t want young minds poisoned by alternative thinking.

How is this gonna work out with thousands of small "recreational" aircraft including gliders? Don´t most of those pilot the craft on visuals? Airways are already pretty crowded. Surprising there aren´t more crashes.

Any pilots our there?

Washington - In 1995, Conrad Harper, the Clinton administration’s top State Department lawyer, appeared before a United Nations panel in Geneva to discuss American compliance with a global Bill of Rights-style treaty the Senate had recently ratified, and he was asked a pointed question: Did the United States believe it applied outside its borders? Mr. Harper returned two days later and delivered an answer: American officials, he said, had no obligations under the rights accord when operating abroad. The Bush administration would amplify that claim after the Sept. 11 attacks — and extend it to another United Nations

Kiev, Ukraine — Over the past two weeks, residents of Kiev have lived through its bloodiest conflict since the Second World War, watched their reviled president flee and a new, provisional team take charge, seen Russian troops take control of part of the country, and heard Russia’s president, Vladimir V. Putin, assert his right to take further military action. Yet the Ukrainian capital is calm. (Snip) This revolution may yet be eaten by its own incompetence or by infighting. Riyagh, Saudi Arabia – Saudi Arabia identified the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist group along with al Qaeda and others Friday, warning those who join them or support them they could face five to 30 years in prison. A Saudi Interior Ministry statement said King Abdullah approved the findings of a committee entrusted with identifying extremist groups referred to in a royal decree earlier last month. The decree punishes those who fight in conflicts outside the kingdom or join extremist groups or support them. The king´s decree followed the kingdom enacting a sweeping new counterterrorism law that targets virtually any criticism

Moscow & Simferopol, Ukraine - President Vladimir Putin rebuffed a warning from U.S. President Barack Obama over Moscow´s military intervention in Crimea, saying on Friday that Russia could not ignore calls for help from Russian speakers in Ukraine. After an hour-long telephone call, Putin said in a statement that Moscow and Washington were still far apart on the situation in the former Soviet republic, where he said the new authorities had taken "absolutely illegitimate decisions on the eastern, southeastern and Crimea regions. "Russia cannot ignore calls for help and it acts accordingly, in full compliance with international law,"

London & Boston - A sophisticated piece of spyware has been quietly infecting hundreds of government computers across Europe and the United States in one of the most complex cyber espionage programs uncovered to date. Several security researchers and Western intelligence officers say they believe the malware, widely known as Turla, is the work of the Russian government and linked to the same software used to launch a massive breach on the U.S. military uncovered in 2008. Those assessments were based on analysis of tactics employed by hackers, along with technical indicators and the victims they targeted. "It is sophisticated

Russia said Ukraine must pay off almost $2 billion it owes it for natural gas by today and signaled it may cut supplies, ratcheting up the pressure on its cash-strapped neighbor as the two nations scrap over the future of the Black Sea Crimea region. Ukraine hasn’t made its February fuel payment and owes Russia $1.89 billion, according to gas export monopoly OAO Gazprom (OGZD), which halted supplies to Ukraine five years ago amid a pricing dispute, curbing flows to Europe. Earlier, lawmakers in Moscow said they’d accept the results of a March 16 referendum on Crimea joining Russia as Ukrainian Prime Minister

The USS Truxtun passed the Dardanelles strait earlier today on its way to the Black Sea amid heightened tension over the crisis in Ukraine and reports that Russia has now 30,000 troops in Crimea. In a move that surprised even his most cynical critics, Gov. Corbett on Wednesday night forestalled an estimated $3 billion in cuts to food stamps in the state over the next 10 years. By doing so, Corbett became the first Republican governor in the country to prevent the cuts ordered by Congress, which is looking to slash $8.6 billion over the next decade to the food-stamp program, now called SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program). The governor´s decision will preserve benefits for 400,000 Pennsylvania households slated to lose a monthly average of $60 to $65 each in benefits, amounting to $300 million a year,

Where Lois Lerner goes, drama follows. On Wednesday, the former IRS officer again invoked the Fifth before the House Oversight Committee. That precipitated a heated exchange between the committee’s Republican chairman, Darrell Issa, and Democratic ranking member Elijah Cummings, who called the hearings “un-American.” And that spat has become the story. No doubt that is exactly what Cummings had in mind. Because it distracts attention from the substance of the hearings — and from the questions raised by e-mails and public remarks Lois Lerner wrote, received or made when she was IRS Director of Tax Exempt Organizations. WASHINGTON — Charles G. and David H. Koch, the billionaire brothers who are perhaps the best-known patrons of conservative Republican politics, are bespectacled and in their 70s. They look genial enough. But Democrats are embarking on a broad effort that aims to unmask the press-shy siblings and portray them, instead, as a pair of villains bent on wrecking progressive politics. On Thursday, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee is starting a digital campaign that will use Internet ads and videos, as well as social media, to tie Republican Senate candidates to the policies and actions of the Koch brothers.
