| During a “fireside hangout” on Google+ this afternoon, President Obama responded to a questioner who said she was disappointed in the gap between Obama’s campaign promises for transparency and the reality of the last four years. “It feels a lot less transparent than I think we all hoped it would be,” she said. Obama said firmly, “This is the most transparent administration in history, and I can document that is the case.” As an example, he said, White House visitor record are now public record, something he changed. About Benghazi, he says that there´s a long paper trail of information and that "Congress is running out of questions to ask." No, they are not. Problem is, they haven´t asked them. For example:
1. What, exactly were you doing during the 7 hours of live footage coming from the massacre at Benghazi?
2. Who gave the "stand down" order?
3. Why was no help sent to these people at the consulate?
4. What were these people actually doing there in Benghazi? Gun running?
5. Why, Mr. President, since it´s YOUR responsibility to give orders in military situations such as this one where we are attacked on our own soil, did you hand off all responsibility to underlings?
6. When will you EVER take responsibility and blame when things go wrong?
But I guess such questions are too partisan to be answered, given all the transparency about Benghazi that we´ve gotten from this Administration.

As whistleblowers came forward on Capitol Hill regarding the potential cover-up surrounding the Benghazi, Libya terrorist attack on Sept. 11, 2012, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney insisted the investigation was “politicized” and “non-substantive.” But he refrained from questioning the congressional witnesses making allegations that the administration has been dismissing. A reporter asked Carney at today’s briefing, “Do you question their motivation?” Carney said, “I don’t. I’m simply saying there has been an ongoing effort to politicize this. But beyond that,

On Wednesday, the Associated Press mischaracterized the Benghazi hearings as merely a Republican event, even though it is an official House committee investigation. In the headline of its report, the Associated Press downplayed the official hearings of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee--that has both Democrats and Republicans on it--into the failures surrounding the 2012 attacks on our embassy personnel in Benghazi, Libya. The AP characterized the official hearings as "GOP hearings," making the proceedings seem like a mere political witch-hunt.

The party that swept into power on promises of transparency and accountability scrambled Wednesday to circle wagons in an extravagant attempt to protect administration officials, the White House and the woman many Democrats hope will be their next nominee for president. Congressional Democrats strenuously tried covering up the inquiry into the botched handling and dishonest aftermath of the terrorist attack on a U.S. facility in Benghazi that left dead our ambassador to Libya and three other Americans.

First lady Michelle Obama on Wednesday said New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) suffers from adulthood obesity and is an example of why her "Let’s Move" campaign is such an important initiative. Speaking Wednesday on the "Today" show, the first lady was asked to comment on reports that Christie secretly underwent a medical operation in February to help him lose weight. "The one thing I will say is that there are millions of people like the governor who struggle with adulthood obesity, and that’s one of the reasons why ´Let’s Move´ is so important,” she said.

Ahead of the Benghazi hearings in which three witnesses are set to testify before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, Fox & Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade invited Fox News analyst Lt. Peters was unflinching in his criticism of the “cowardly” Obama administration — and the “establishment media” that aids it. “Is this a national security coverup?” Kilmeade asking, explaining that the witness testimony is expected to say the administration was deceitful in its handling of the situation. “The administration, facing the election, went into panic mode, wanted to contain it,”

For a good idea of how anxious Obamacare supporters are about the law´s rollout, read former White House health adviser Ezekiel Emanuel´s op-ed in The Wall Street Journal this morning: Transforming the U.S. health-care system—which is larger than the economy of France—is one of the most daunting administrative tasks government has ever confronted. There will be bumps in the road; this is inevitable. Setting up the exchanges will pose a host of technological challenges, such as digitally linking an individual´s IRS information (which determines a subsidy level) to the insurance offerings in the individual´s home area

Laugh if you must but it’s no goofier than the idea that “due process” implies a substantive right to kill a baby in the womb but not five minutes later, after it’s emerged. Bsides, Jackson Lee’s been consistent on this. Back in January 2011, right after the new Republican House majority was sworn in, she started arguing that repealing O-Care would amount to a deprivation of due process under the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments. There’s a certain ruthless logic in her reaching for the Constitution right after the Democrats’ hold on power began to slip in

What good is a background check that doesn’t actually penalize criminals? Like the rest of Amnesty 2013, it exists only to aid the Democratic Party’s culture of criminality. Their concern is with a clause that would, during the background check process, prohibit immigration officials from forwarding criminal histories to law enforcement for deportation purposes. “The idea is we are supposed to be weeding out the bad apples,” said Steven Camarota, of the Center for Immigration Studies. “But the big problem with the bill is it does not require those denied the amnesty to leave the country.

When it first became clear that the CIA’s Benghazi talking points had been altered, many of us viewed the White House as the prime suspect. After all, it served President Obama’s political purposes to claim, at the height of a political campaign in which he was taking credit for the fall of al Qaeda, that the death of a U.S. ambassador was down to spontaneous outrage over a video, rather than pre-planned terrorism. It turns out, however, that the State Department was the prime culprit. It was State that pushed back hard against the original talking points.

Republican lawmakers, who have spent months seeking to tie President Obama to last year’s deadly attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, are increasingly focusing their probe on a new target: former secretary of state Hillary Rodham Clinton. The GOP-led investigation of the Sept. 11, 2012, assaults that killed U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three others now centers heavily on the State Department and whether officials there deliberately misled the public about the nature of the assault. Three State Department officials are scheduled to testify before a House committee on Wednesday about the Benghazi attack and its aftermath.

Sanford defeated Colbert Busch 54 percent to 45 percent, according to full unofficial results. Turnout was heavier than expected, with about 32 percent of the district’s 455,702 registered voters casting ballots. Sanford, who has never lost an election, returns to the 1st District seat he held for three terms from 1995-2001. There was tragic incompetence, plainly, in the Obama administration’s handling of the Benghazi attacks, and even possibly some political calculation. It is a record that may well come to haunt Hillary Clinton, the first Secretary of State to lose an ambassador in the field in more than three decades, if she runs for president in 2016. But the obvious Republican effort to turn this inquiry into the Democratic (Obama) version of the Iraq intelligence scandal that has tarred the GOP since the George W. Bush years -- led by that least-credible of champions, the almost-always-wrong Darrell Issa --
