President Obama didn’t make any phone calls the night of the Sept. 11 attacks on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, the White House said in a letter to Congress released Thursday. “During the entire attack, the president of the United States never picked up the phone to put the weight of his office in the mix,” said Sen. Lindsey Graham, South Carolina Republican, who had held up Mr. Obama’s defense secretary nominee to force the information to be released. Mr. Graham said that if Mr. Obama had picked up the
It is my sincere hope that should Obama ever find himself in a similar situation US troops would rush in to save him. Because 1)he is the President of the United States; and 2)because he may be a US citizen. Once he is safely back home he could then be put on trial for the deaths of the four Americans.
I am still wondering/confused/questioning why we have heard nothing/zip/nada from the other Americans who were in Benghazi. Why is this?
What has happened to the Father of the soldier who was killed in Benghazi ? He was a prominent fixture in the news stories early on, even accusing the administration of "murder" I believe. What has happened to him ?
Since the current excuse is abiding by local law... that makes Obama´s lack of involvement even more repulsive.
Hillary & Obama went about their usual schedule as both were assuming Stevens was being kidnapped by the Mo Bro´s, as pre-arranged... so Obama could trade the blind sheik or him. Islamo´s on the ground preferred to rape & torture Stevens instead.
Please! We all know what Dear Leader was doing that night - He was caring, caring about so many things. And in between caring so very much about so many things, He focused like a laser on jobs. After falling asleep, exhausted from so much caring and focusing on jobs, Dear Leader dreamed - He dreamed of a better, more equitable tomorrow for all Americans. It´s all too wonderful.
How dare anyone demand that Dear Leader make phone calls, when He is so busy caring, focusing and dreaming - for us!
AND NBC, CBS, ABC et al. are so little concerned that they are not even mentioning the story, let alone the fact that Harry Reid and other Dems fought tooth and nail re: several of Bush´s picks. The days of a truth finding Press are long gone, which is probably why the ratings are also down to a pittance. Who could possibly respect a Brian Williams?
As to poster #3, Obama is NOT a product of affirmative action. He was well-heeled via his grandparents, as well as connected, and went to the best schools, also with help from various Democrats who saw a future for him. He was also protected re: any acknowledgement of his grades, his law license (handed back but why; ditto Michelle´s), his "professorship", and his iffy friends. The PRESS is responsible for these omissions and they should be held in contempt.

I don´t normally have the warm fuzzies for Sen. Graham, but in this Benghazi matter (and for LoFo´s: Ben Gazi? Who dat?), he´s being a little bulldog and I like that, a lot.
Keep the heat on, Senator. Don´t let this investigation die, like those 4 Americans.
The Tar Baby represents a situation from which you cannot extricate yourself, not a person. It isn´t a racist epithet. Like the briar patch, which represents your comfort zone, its from Song of the South, a collection of children´s stories. I wish people who have not read them would stop referring to Obama this way. It isn´t clever. And I think at 90 we can let Bob Dole retire.
Well at least we have 1 or 2 senators that are willing to press this issue. If it werent for hanging up the confirmation, we wouldnt have gotten this much from this negligent president. Im not sure about the reason, but I do know this man is incapable of "being" anything other than a community organizer and a campaigner. The highest office holder in the world cares nothing about doing the job. The media is as much to blame as anyone. Im sick of them all.
Voting "Present" has been Obama´s M.O. from the beginning. The only gutsy call he made in his life was only revealed "after" the Bin Laden success. If it would have failed he would have been sleeping through that one too.
Rush is onto something. Obama only campaigns. He doesn´t govern. That way he can play outsider and no blame is ever attached to him or his policies.
I think of him as the Chris Dorner of American presidents. He has a stealth manifesto. He´s stalking those on whom he seeks revenge. The nutjobs see him as a superhero. And someday, as one of our posters wittily observed, he may quit smoking.
I saw Sean Smith´s mother on Greta´s show one night last week and she said she had had NOT A WORD about anything from the government.
From above poster: "Rush is onto something. Obama only campaigns." A poster, within the past few days, said the constant campaigning is from the Coward (?) and Piven playbook.

In the law enforcement business, this is called "copping a plea". Basically, you plead guilty to a lesser charge so the investigation into the bigger charge (the one with the prison term attached) gets dropped and they stop investigating. That´s what Obammy is doing. He´s basically pleading guilty to incompetence and having no heart for Americans who were dying valiantly and horribly. He´s pleading guilty to that charge in exchange for Congress (and the people) dropping the other charges that would have him impeached for not performing his job and for running guns to Turkey. Basically, he´s asking the court of public opinion to give him a pass and release him back into the general population. He feels he paid a fine and now he´s done. The Lo-Infos will agree.
The more I think about what posters 7 and 8 said the more it makes perfect sense that these two traitors, Zero and the "Smartest Woman in the World" thought this was all part of the covert operation that would end up trading Stevens for the Blind Sheik. Otherwise, why would they tell the Navy Seals to stand down and not help these guys? Why would they not even attempt to get military assets that are stationed only a few hours away from this hell hole to save these people? If they did send help, that would have blown everything. And indeed, when the Seals disobeyed the stand down, they blew the entire thing. The spinless Republicans need to keep pressing and pressing and this has to be made public. Because if it is, this is definitely an impeachable offense for both Zero and Hillary. Although with the corrupt medial, impeachment will never happen.
Our focus here is on assigning appropriate blame to this Badministration for the horrors it is committing and that it is hoping to get away with even now.
Some of the angles presented here by those posting are pretty interesting, and should be further explored, preferably by our elected officials.
Focusing elsewhere is a less productive pursuit, but we can multitask, and the following should be obvious to many... we had a program called TARP, and we have an organization called AARP. Put them together and you can say TAARP.
I actually knew Bob Dole. I am certain he will appreciate the acknowledgement of his signature campaign line from 1996. This Benghazi controversy makes you wonder when someone in Washington will revive Dole´s line... "Where´s the outrage???!!!"
I agree with posters 7, 8 & 41. Ever since that explanation was put forward in mid-October it has seemed like the most plausible explanation for all of the facts. And as more facts have come out, none of them have contradicted it, thereby increasing its plausibility.
Poster #4 asks (paraphrasing): why haven´t we heard anything from the other Americans who were in Benghazi? That’s a great question, which leads me to a few more questions:
Have any pictures or other evidence been provided that prove that Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty were actually killed by a mortar round fired by the terrorists?
If not, could they have been killed by “friendly fire” (a CIA operative?) for disobeying orders and screwing up the whole kidnapping, prisoner exchange for the blind sheik plan?
Why haven´t any of the Americans who were rescued from Benghazi been called to testify before Congress? Where are they?
Maybe they’re being held at some undisclosed location because they know the inconvenient truth about what really happened.
I wouldn’t put it past the compulsive-liar-in-chief, the Queen of Cover-ups... errr... I mean “Secretary of State – the BEST ONE EVER!!!!! (gag)”, Hillary, or their “flying-monkey” minions.
Benghazi Attack would initiate Protocol of a flash electronic message straight to the pResident, if available it would be hand carried to him .. Obozo has similiar electronic system... phone message crap is misdirection response, he doesnt need to talk .. Only the pResident can order a stand down of the military... He did so 3 times in 7 hours until the 4 were dead... Benghazi was not a consulate it was a CIA gun running shop to Syria terroist ... this is why he did nothing to protect.. Obozo not only did Obozo do nothing for Benghazi he fired two staff officers (4 star) in the theater for trying to help ... TREASON IMPEACH
just out in Kindle format on 2/12 . Written by the team of former Special Operations warriors who run SOFREP.com, here is the definitive account of what happened before, during, and after the deadly Benghazi attack. (from Amazon intro)
Excellent points raised in this thread. Clear thoughts expressed. So...I say again, are we committed to fixing this starting in 2014? Are we committed to making Obie´s life a living hell for the next 4 years? Writing these posts is fine and dandy, but at the end of the day, what action will each of us take to repair the country by replacing this travesty of a government?
If this were a Republican, there would be hearings by now. You would be watching a thing like Watergate. But no, Obama could and is (with the drones) getting away with murder and no one is saying or doing anything. The main stream media just ho-hums it off and says nothing and does nothing. I´m positive that this is how Hitler got into power. We are just watching it happen..,..

#53.... You misread. I said I´m not a fan of Miss Lindsey. But who else is doing what he´s doing? He´s on every TV interview he can get on, the only one publicly asking any questions at all.
I fully expect him to disappoint when it comes to the full Hagel vote, but for now, I´ll give him the credit for keeping this issue alive. I wish only that our - OUR! - Commander-in-Chief had thought so much as to keep those men alive.
By the way, anyone - how is this nor outright murder? Or conspiracy to commit? Or 2nd degree?
And just moments ago, I see a clip of Louie Gohmert making his House floor speech on this issue, so I´m thankful somebody over there knows about this too - NOT surprised it´s Gohmert. But I would not use the word ´impassioned´ to describe his speech demeanor. What´s up with that?
I can´t decide which is more evil; a President who can go to bed while Americans are begging for help at the hands of savage barbarians and do nothing to intervene on their behalf, or the media who will not seriously and objectively investigate this tragedy.
There are so many unanswered questions but apparently no one wants to press the issue hard enough to get answers. The Republicans have let the democrats close the book on this matter. When Mrs. Clinton got away with shouting, "What difference, at this point, does it matter" and there was no outrage, I knew nothing was going to come of the investigation. The preening pampered princes in Washington could not even manage to ask a simple question and then follow up on it. By allowing her to give non-answers and filibuster, they let her off the hook. We are now to move on and be satisfied with the hearings. Our government failed to protect these men and then failed miserably in providing answers to the families.
agreed #48. Someone please Obama there are a million questions still to be asked so please start to answer them. I´m so glad this is not being swept under the carpet!! Remember Obama´s description of a "blip in the road". How insulting to those 4 men and to America.
Along with the president, not one single democrat in Congress is raising a finger to find the truth. This smacks of a conspiracy of silence and therefore they are also complicit in the murder of our 4 Americans in Benghazi.

The first reason Caylee Anthony became a suspect in her daughter´s kidnapping is that she did not not pick up the phone to report it immediately. Obama acted like a man who knew too much, not too little.
In the4 casketsat the airport with Obamaand Hillary saluting were the urns with the creamains of the 4 benghazi brave ones. It was I thought very cyncial to pretend there were bodies there. I have been to funerals with just the urn anda pall over it. But the mother of one of them said (only onetime it was on)"we don´t even know how he died" and the reporter said "can´t you have an examination made"? the mother said ´no he was cremated" That is one outfit that needs to be subpoened and also who ordered it and the entire system held to the light. It could be a sweater unravelling.what wasthe condition of the men when they came in.
This falls into the category of "high crimes and misdemeanors." The president shirked his constitutional duty to protect our diplomatic personnel, whom he and his secretary of state had recklessly sent into Benghazi.
Compare the noncoverage of Benghazi to the long-running media furor over the Plame nothingburger, where not only did no one die or even risk dying, but the woman was a deskjockey at Langley in plain sight. Everyone knew she worked at the CIA, including presumably any foreign government that cared to know. Yet even though it really did not matter, and even though the Bush Adm. had too much class to say "what does it matter," if they had, would such an exclamation have received the favorable reaction Hillary did?
This was talked about on the panel last night with Bret Baier, #4 and #45. They asked each other about all the other people who were involved in the Benghazi fight - where are they and why hasn´t anyone heard from any of them? Do we know where they are? The panelists all said no. Doesn´t this make you wonder - have they been threatened by the admin not to speak out or come forward for fear of reprisal, or job loss, or demotion? There are many who know more about what happened, about the requests for security, for aid, all of it.
recall that BrianTerry murdered by the Fast and Furious guns. No one contactedher for along time. finally (deep voice) JANET Napolitano contactd her. Nothing since. I really think threats are made or alluded too. President Obama promised to mend the failings in the American health-care system, and yet for cancer treatment, ObamaCare is taking a rotten feature of the old system and making it worse. The Affordable Care Act expands a program called 340B, which siphons money from drug makers and insurers to subsidize certain hospitals. The program has been expanded as a way to offset some of the cuts that the law imposes on hospitals. One significant side effect: 340B is increasing the cost of cancer care—and harming its quality. When the program began in 1992, its aim was to support
Most Americans would agree that academic freedom is a sacred right of the academy and crucial to the American experiment in democracy. But what is it really? That´s the question raised by the Associated Press´s July 16 release of emails between Mitch Daniels, when he was the governor of Indiana, and his staff concerning Howard Zinn´s "A People´s History of the United States." The emails were written in 2010 and Mr. Daniels, whose second term as governor ended this January, is now president of Purdue University in Indiana. Published in 1980, Zinn´s "A People´s History"
Fiscal Policy: President Obama has proposed a "grand bargain" with Republicans: They get a tax cut for corporations, he gets more money to spend on worthless government stimulus. That´s no bargain — that´s surrender. In the latest attempt by Democrats to disguise GOP capitulation as centrist "compromise," Obama said he´ll sign off on a cut in the corporate tax rate from 35% to 28% — with an even lower rate of 25% for manufacturers — if Republicans will agree to spend more on Obama´s "investments" and OK a tax hike on U.S. companies doing business overseas.
In Chattanooga on Tuesday, the latest stop on his economic inequality tour, President Obama made himself an offer he couldn´t refuse. If Congressional Republicans agree to a corporate tax increase, he said, then he´ll agree to spend more money on his favorite public-works projects. If Republicans bargain hard, will he also offer an expansion of ObamaCare as a sweetener? We know this sounds like an exaggeration, but that´s the essence of what the President proposed as what he called a new "grand bargain." Mr. Obama will agree to reform the corporate tax code—a GOP priority and one
Cabinet: Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee reportedly is vying to replace Janet Napolitano as Homeland Security secretary. It would be hard to find a choice worse than the gonzo Houston Democrat. Jackson-Lee has the backing of the Congressional Black Caucus, which has been aggressively lobbying President Obama to diversify his Cabinet. Given Obama´s radical second-term picks — from Thomas Perez to Mel Watt — we can´t be sure he´ll pass on the recommendation, nutty as it is. According to the Houston Chronicle, the head of the Black Caucus last week in a letter to Obama praised Jackson-Lee as a "voice of reason" for Homeland
Obamanomics: The president has been decrying the growing gap between rich and poor in the U.S. to help sell his retread tax-and-spend proposals. But those policies have already produced record levels of income inequality. In his speech in Illinois last week, and at events since, Obama described income inequality in the starkest terms. "This growing inequality is morally wrong," he said, and "undermines the very essence of America." To be sure, income inequality is a standard trope for liberals, who always use it to advocate more wealth redistribution. And Obama´s latest focus neatly coincides with his plans to push

Huma Abedin, the wife of former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.), dined Monday night with Hillary Clinton´s spokesman Philippe Reines. The two were spotted at Meiwah, a Chinese restaurant in Washington, D.C., according to reports. Reports citing many close to the Clintons said the couple was angered by comparisons between their
RUSH: Now, yesterday I mentioned a comment in a sort of throwaway fashion, and we had a caller who was asking me... I forget the specific issue he was asking me about, but it was something where for years, Washington, both parties have been saying something. And then when the opportunity comes to them to back it up, all of a sudden they don´t. I was explaining about how in 25 years of doing this program, things are starting to repeat now. I´m starting to learn when politicians have said things they don´t really mean.
RUSH: The Weiner Stack is growing. His fortunes are shrinking. In fact, there´s a piece here by Tina Brown, there´s two things here that are actually interesting. There´s a piece by Tina Brown in which she says we gotta stop with all the dickmanship. Yeah. Here it is. Tina Brown shares her thoughts on what she called "dickmanship," and we gotta get rid of it. And then, folks, are you ready for this? Let me find this. I´m gonna have to paraphrase it. I´m really sorry.
Who the heck does Huma think she is? That´s the question "a top [New York] state Democrat" is asking about Anthony Weiner´s wife, according to a report by Fred Dicker of the New York Post. "The Clintons are pis$$ed off that Weiner´s campaign is saying that Huma is just like Hillary,´´ Dicker´s Dem declares. "How dare they compare Huma with Hillary? Hillary was the first lady. Hillary was a senator. She was secretary of state." Being called low-class by the Clintons has got to hurt. But we don´t see how Dicker´s source´s comparison works to Huma´s disadvantage.
Democrats in Congress hope the Travyon Martin tragedy can help them accomplish something they have worked on for years to no avail: an end to racial profiling. "Trayvon is one of too many individuals across the country who have been victimized by a perception of criminality simply because of their race, ethnicity, religion or national origin. These individuals are denied the basic respect and equal treatment that is the right of every American," says Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., who is sponsoring the End Racial Profiling Act.
Conservative bloggers went wild Monday when they got wind of the Congressional Black Caucus’ suggestion that President Obama pick Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee of Houston for the post of Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. Rich Cooper, avid blogger for Security Debrief, responded to the news of the Jackson Lee recommendation in a post by saying, “Apparently, it is not a joke. For reasons that baffle any sense of reality, it is a serious gesture on the part of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) to encourage President Obama to nominate Rep. Jackson Lee

Anthony Weiner may have violated federal law when he failed to disclose his lavish six-figure wedding in his financial disclosure forms, says a government accountability group. Ethics watchdog group National Legal and Policy Center examined the federal Financial Disclosure Reports for both Weiner and long-suffering wife Huma Abedin for 2010, the year of their wedding. The cost for the ceremony was at least $100,000 but probably ran closer to $250,000 including all
In an interview on National Public Radio (NPR), House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said her new agenda for women will give mothers access to day care so they can “earn without carrying the burden of child care.” During the interview, aired on Weekend Edition Sunday, Pelosi spoke about her newly announced agenda, which is on her website, and is titled, “When Women Succeed, America Succeeds: An Economic Agenda for Women and Families,” a plan that includes universal pre-school and access to day care for working women, and an increase in the minimum wage.
Many low-income families receive government assistance to help them purchase food and housing. Diapers are another story, a new study suggests. In what they are calling the first peer-reviewed study to quantify diaper need, Yale University researchers have found nearly a third of mothers cannot afford to purchase their infants diapers, raising health risks for not only babies but for moms who become stressed over the finances. "Notably absent from the antipoverty efforts targeting families is an essential staple for the health of children, diapers," wrote the researchers, led by Dr. Megan Smith,
Mideast: The sequester has "cost jobs," says President Obama, and "gutted investments in education and science and medical research." But somehow he´s earmarked $500 million for Hamas terrorists. Karl Rove and more than one hundred Republican donors sent a letter to Republican members of Congress on Tuesday, urging them to pass a comprehensive immigration reform bill that would include, among other provisions, granting "legal status" to illegal aliens who meet certain criteria.
