Obama to lay out details
of universal pre-kindergarten
plan in Decatur

Journal-Constitution [Atlanta GA], by Nancy Badertscher & Greg Bluestein

Original Article

Posted By:JoniTx, 2/14/2013 10:09:30 AM

President Barack Obama is expected to propose during his Thursday visit to metro Atlanta that the federal government expand the Head Start preschool program, which is designed to prepare children from low-income families for school. Obama also plans to back a new partnership with states to provide preschool for every 4-year-old from low- and middle-income families, according to details from the White House that emerged hours before his scheduled visit. The plan would be funded through with federal matching dollars for public preschool slots for families who earn at or below 200 percent of the poverty level.

A study several years indicated that children given the advantage of pre-school lost that advantage a few years into the regular school routine.

This is nothing but state-funded day care. More out-of-control entitlements. If parents do not want the responsibility of caring for very young children, they should not have them. Don´t expect your neighbor to pay for care.

Indoctrinate the Children...right out of the Marxist Manafesto! Our Union run ´education´ system has been doing it for years and a majority of parents just don´t get why their kids are Commies!

Is there any area, even a tiny area, of our lives that Obama does not want to control and dominate. He is a power-hungry monster. The most frightening thing about him is that a significant portion of the American public worships him.

That´s a great idea plus it´s free it won´t add one "dime" to the deficit! /s

What an idiot he is. His ideology blinds him to the truth. If expanded it will end up costing billions of dollars we don´t have for another program we don´t need. Both parties are addicted to spending. The fiscal cliff is fast approaching.

Every parent should REFUSE to attend this nightmare of marxist indoctrination. He wants to take your kids away; he wants your kids to love the government, not the country, but the government; he wants the kids to betray their parents when they talk ill of the government they were taught to love.

NO NO NO

I guess that the $50Billion to run this abomination will come from military budgets or more taxes on the rich earners, not those who already have their money hidden.

Classroom space, teachers, buses. Yes, I can see how that won´t add to the deficit.

Here in AZ, we went from half-day to full-day kindergarten. Janet Napolitano, our governor before she became "Big Sis," used it as a bribe for political support. It is a free daycare program. Full day is great for kids who are ready, but a nightmare for the immature and slightly younger kids. You can bet that parents whose kids barely miss the age cutoff whine until their 4 10/12 year-olds are permitted to go to kindergarten. Don´t even get me started on the early drop off and late pickups for parents who can´t be bothered to pay for and arrange for the daycare center buses to collect their kids.

Then our local district started an all-day preschool program at one school. Little kids were bused from all over the district. That meant you had four-year-olds stuck in a classroom all day. I saw those kids and they were whiny, tired and lots were sucking their thumbs.

Didn´t I read that billions of dollars were spent on Head Start, with little to show for the expenditure?

Middle class moms, you are working because you have to pay for these programs for yourselves and all the non-working people (won´t call them unemployed as most never want to be employed). So, you´re leaving your children to be raised by others so that others don´t have to raise theirs either. Is that the deal that you want?

I too agree with #4. If this is the direction 0bama and his Marxist regime are heading it won´t be long before the statists just take your baby and you will be allowed sparse visitation rights after they have completed their brainwashing and the child has dutifully pleged their allegiance to the state. I´m sick of hearing their bleating that "it´s for the children." They are blatant, pathological liars who just want more money to dole out to their union comrades.

#1, you are mistaken. It will work beautifully on those children who enter it. There are a lot of children whose parents have already made them resistant to indoctrination by the time they are five, getting them into the education camps...I mean schools, a year earlier will give the government an additional year at an age when children are even more susceptible to indoctrination.

Oh, you thought this was about turning out better educated children. No, no, no, if they wanted educated children they would encourage one of the parents to stay home and teach them themselves.

More union dues for the NEA or AFT. Nothing more.
Studies of Head Start have shown anything gained is lost by third grade.
And PBS actually held a conference, about 20 years ago, to discuss Sesame Street. The results of studies showed that all children, regardless of race, gained by watching Sesame Street. And the conference participants actually brainstormed for ways to deny access to Sesame Street by white chillun. Seriously.

The concept of, ´´pre-kindergarten,´´ is a recent development in the U.S.A. by statist pols whose PC agenda is indeed to micro-manage everyone in the U.S.A. from the, ´cradle to the grave.´ ...Not so coincidentally, since the radical community activists like 0bama have been pushing their approach of fracturing the American family even more than their vile NEA-deemed public school policies already have, the public educational system in the USA has continued to tank. America´s educational system excelled until just a couple of decades ago, when the ´60s militants attained tenure! Their statist policies are demonstrably dumbing-down America´s children and youths with their failed, ´progressive/socialist,´ policies and degenerate social tangent! Even as Congress prepares to debate whether to legalize 11 million illegal immigrants and give them a path to citizenship, analysts are cautioning lawmakers to focus on the other part of immigration: assimilating them fully into America. All sides in the debate agree that assimilation is critical, but in a report being released Monday, the Hudson Institute, a conservative-leaning think tank, says the country has failed on that account in recent years. They found that immigrants — even those who earn U.S. citizenship — have far less attachment to their new home than native-born Americans.

President Obama lives at a time when there are two very different and very well-defined political ideologies. On the one hand, the GOP is fighting for spending contraints, limited regulation, and more personal economic choice. President Obama and his party are more determined than any administration in U.S. history to promote and execute the idea that federal government is best suited to both meet the needs of the people and run the economy. The most fascinating aspect of this yin and yang pull of ideologies is not just that they are taking place at this time in history,

WASHINGTON— President Barack Obama supports requiring girls younger than 17 to see a doctor before buying the morning-after pill. But fighting that battle in court comes with its own set of risks. Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

Gluten-free diets are all the rage, but they can be dangerous if not done right. What is gluten? It´s the spongy complex of proteins, found naturally in wheat, rye, and barley, that gives elasticity to dough and allows it to rise. When flour is moistened and either kneaded or mixed into dough, gluten molecules form an elastic, microscopic latticework that traps the carbon dioxide produced when yeast ferments, causing dough to inflate like a hot air balloon. Baking hardens the gluten, which helps the finished product keep its shape. Wheat — and gluten — is ubiquitous in the American diet.

That they were just torturing him.”
