Perry Goes to California for Jobs After Brown "Fart" Remark
Bloomberg News, by David Mildenberg

| First, California Governor Jerry Brown mocked a Texas ad campaign to lure jobs from his state as a “burp, barely a fart.” Then Texas Governor Rick Perry escalated the battle with a four-day recruiting trip to Brown’s state, capped by a news conference today to boast of his efforts. Texas Governor Rick Perry said his job recruiting trip is not about bashing California, but about promoting Texas. It’s part of a long-running battle over which of the country’s two most populous states -- California is biggest, followed by Texas -- has the best climate to attract jobs.

Comments: Here´s a "bragging rights" contest you might not want to get mixed up in, given the language. Interesting facts about the relative sizes of the economies of the two states.

No doubt Texas has an edge, but both states have border problems and many illegals draining their resources. Florida has no State income tax, much lower property taxes, ports, trains, good highways and no border with Mexico. I wonder why more businesses don´t consider Florida?

In repelling job creators there are two categories in which all the states fall. Kalifornia and the rest of the 49. Gov Moonbeam is smoking mushrooms (again).

It´s hilarious how the liberal politicians out here are wetting themselves over Perry´s campaign. We may have confiscatory taxes, no jobs, a p-poor business climate, a brain-dead legislature, looming financial disaster and a death wish demographic shift, but hey, we have the beaches, high tech and all that culture!

Governor Perry, look out what you wish for. Thousands of California liberals moved to Colorado over the past decade. Many of them came to Colorado to escape high taxes. Once in Colorado these liberals continued to vote the same way they always did. Consequently, Colorado has turned blue. It has fallen.

FL is doing a great job getting the financial market to move from NYC there. These businesses are sick of paying the freight for the parasites. Did you know 27% of all state residents are on Medicaid and Cuomo is going to jump that number to 41%. He says at no cost to state taxes. That´s because he´s pushing all the costs on the counties and towns. NY state also has the most lavish Medicaid benefits of any state in the union. Cuomo is a big libtard who wants to be president and I despise him.

I watch as business moves from NYC to Florida and NC my home states, they bring their blue state values to lord over our red state values. Be very careful what you wish for. They bring their money and problems with them, then they obtain power you can´t get rid of them.

This month, I spoke at an event commemorating the 40th anniversary of the Watergate scandal with some of its survivors at the National Press Club. {Snip} From unilateral military actions to warrantless surveillance that were key parts of the basis for Nixon´s impending impeachment, the painful fact is that Barack Obama is the president that Nixon always wanted to be. Four decades ago, Nixon was halted in his determined effort to create an "imperial presidency" with unilateral powers and privileges. In 2013, Obama wields those very same powers openly and without serious opposition.

George Prescott Bush filed the official paperwork Tuesday to run for Texas land commissioner next year, hoping to use a little-known but powerful post to continue his family´s political dynasty in one of the country´s most-conservative states. Bush spokesman Trey Newton told The Associated Press that Bush spoke with current Land Commissioner Jerry Paterson before formally declaring his candidacy Tuesday. Paterson has already announced he´s leaving the post to run for lieutenant governor. An attorney and consultant from Fort Worth and Spanish-speaker, Bush is considered a rising star among conservative Hispanics.

In my New York Times best-selling novel “Heroes Proved,” the president of the United States orders the execution of an American citizen in the United States by using precision munitions fired from a remotely piloted aircraft, or RPA — incorrectly referred to by our media as a drone. When the book came out last year, some critics derided the idea of a U.S. president issuing an executive order to kill Americans in our homeland as “over the top” and “unthinkable.” One even said the idea was “unfathomable.” Thanks to Sen. Rand Paul, Kentucky Republican, we now know

A state judge today put a cork in City Hall´s plans to ban Big Apple restaurants and other venues from selling large sugary drinks -- a bubble-bursting defeat for Mayor Bloomberg, who has made public health a cornerstone of his tenure. Before the stunning ruling by New York Supreme Court Judge Milton Tingling, restaurants, movie theaters, sports venues, convenience stores and other places regulated by the city´s health department would have been prohibited -- starting tomorrow -- from selling sugary drinks of more than 16 ounces.

Sen. John McCain says he doesn´t understand the threats from some of his Republican colleagues to filibuster a bill on background checks to buy guns. "I don´t understand it," the Arizona Republican said on Sunday of the threat coming from Sen. Rand Paul,Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Mike Lee and nine other Republicans. "The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote and to let the people know where we stand.” "What are we afraid of? ... If this issue is as important as we all think it is, why not take ... it up and debate?"

Michelle Obama has admitted that she is already tired of the bangs she first sported in January. The First Lady said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight: ´Bangs are a day-by-day proposition. They´re starting to grow out, get a little irritating.´ Still, she hasn´t let her hairdo woes get her down. ´It´s okay,´ she said after her initial complaint. ´We´ll be good.´ The first indication that her hairstyle was becoming a burden came about last weekend, when Malia, 14, was spotted adjusting her mother´s hair during the White House Easter Egg Roll.

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

Los Angeles — Some people have had it with TV. They´ve had enough of the 100-plus channel universe. They don´t like timing their lives around network show schedules. They´re tired of $100-plus monthly bills. A growing number of them have stopped paying for cable and satellite TV service, and don´t even use an antenna to get free signals over the air. (Snip) Last month, the Nielsen Co. started labeling people in this group "Zero TV" households, because they fall outside the traditional definition of a TV home. There are 5 million of these residences in the U.S., up from

On Friday, Sean Hannity brought Pat Smith, mother of the late Sean Smith, on his radio program. The 34-year-old information management officer was one of four Americans murdered in the Benghazi embassy attack on September 11, 2012. In the chilling interview, a distraught Ms. Smith, in tears, pleaded for answers and spoke of the efforts to silence her. Ms. Smith first relayed how her son, prior to the attack, requested additional security in advance and warned the State Department: He did tell them, ahead of time, he typed it into his little typewriter over there,

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank

Susan Patton, the Princeton alumna who became famous for her letter urging Ivy League women to use their college years to find a mate, has been denounced as a traitor to feminism, to coeducation, to the university ideal. But really she’s something much more interesting: a traitor to her class. Her betrayal consists of being gauche enough to acknowledge publicly a truth that everyone who’s come up through Ivy League culture knows intuitively —

Gluten-free diets are all the rage, but they can be dangerous if not done right. What is gluten? It´s the spongy complex of proteins, found naturally in wheat, rye, and barley, that gives elasticity to dough and allows it to rise. When flour is moistened and either kneaded or mixed into dough, gluten molecules form an elastic, microscopic latticework that traps the carbon dioxide produced when yeast ferments, causing dough to inflate like a hot air balloon. Baking hardens the gluten, which helps the finished product keep its shape. Wheat — and gluten — is ubiquitous in the American diet.

Newtown killer Adam Lanza may have launched his murder spree at Sandy Hook Elementary School as an “act of revenge,” the Daily News has learned. A close friend of Lanza’s mother told The News that the troubled boy was a target of relentless bullying when he attended the Connecticut school years ago. “I think Adam felt betrayed by the school and this was his act of revenge,” said Marvin LaFontaine, a friend of Nancy Lanza’s. “Nancy told me he was being picked on at school. That they were just torturing him.” Source and text corrected by Staff.
