Illegal immigrant tells Congress
not to call him illegal

Washington Times, by Stephen Dinan

Original Article

Posted By:drive, 2/13/2013 12:56:50 PM

Jose Antonio Vargas, an illegal immigrant and former reporter, scolded a congressional panel on Wednesday, saying that he should not be called illegal, and saying it is an insult to his family who brought him here. “When you inaccurately call me illegal, you not only dehumanize me, you’re offending them,” he said. “No human being is illegal.” Mr. Vargas testified to the Senate Judiciary Committee alongside Chris Crane — a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent and president of the ICE agents’ union — who is unable to arrest him under the administration’s new non-deportation policies.

How about tool, pawn, and/or Dem voter?

You can moan about being offended, but it doesn´t change the fact that your breaking the law, therefore illegal fits.

Why do these people get special treatment. Über elites treat them like house trained pets. Sorry, but the rest of us out here in real America pay our taxes, comply with the law. We have no representation in DC.

He is right. It would be simpler and more precise to call him a criminal. People who break the law are called lawbreakers, criminals, outlaws, felons etc.

Coming into the country illegally is actually a form of breaking and entering. If the same person broke into and entered a residence or business establishment and were apprehended, they would be arrested and charged with a crime.

This man claims it is an insult to his family to remind people that they broke the law by sneaking into the United States. But since they did break the law by sneaking into the United States, they can, and should, be called criminals. He should count his blessings. Illegal immigrant is actually a euphemism for criminal.

The only criminals are people who have failed to claim membership in some fashionable victim group.

Fat,old, white, male, tea party, veteran taxpayers are all criminals because the world has been divided into oppressors and oppressed.

Very exciting times if you´re a Marxist.

Mr. vargas, just shut up. Then consider what happens in mexico to someone who cannot provide adequate documentation. The answer is, they get kicked around first then sent to jail, then summarily deported, as mexico has the toughest immigration laws in this hemisphere.

Here is the real reason why we are afflicted with propaganda stunts like the Vargas appearance before a congressional panel:

Liberals want to silence all criticism of protected groups, no matter how valid the criticism is. It´s called thought control.

The most of putting aspect of this spectacle is the absolute GALL of an ILLEGAL ALIEN to LECTURE our CONGRESS about the proper way to address HIM !!!

The arrogance with which they flaunt our laws is breathtaking !

But then again, the men and women who occupy their respective congressional seats are spineless, feckless cowards and free loaders for the mos part and not really deserving of any respectt. So I guess it´s a wash.

The illegal with a grievance complex is from the Philippines. Not surprised, given the wretchedness of that country. Why should anyone listen to him about what he wants to be called? Does he really think we owe it to him to not describe his immigration status as illegal if it is illegal. If he doesn´t like it, let him go back to Philippines, preferably the Manila dump, and make his complaints.

Every post I´ve read so far is missing a very important point. These libs keep saying it´s not a big "crime" to enter the country illegally, or overstay a visa. The point I´d like to make is the guy admitted to working, while here as an illegal, and therefore is guilty of either tax evasion, or identity theft, or both. Both are "criminal" offenses, and not just being here illegally. He is an identity thief. Charge him and put him in jail. Will anyone in the media try to find out whose SSN he has been using?

As #24 above said, just about every illegal alien who now has a US job, and who before getting that job did not have specific permission from the immigration authorities, has most likely committed a federal criminal felony by either falsifying the federal employee verification Form I-9 by using a false identity, some by even falsely claiming to be a US citizen, by listing on that federal form some sort of bogus, counterfeit, or fraudulent US identification documents. If any legitimate US citizen ever did that on any federal form, and was found out, you can safely bet that they would be criminally prosecuted and convicted of a crime.

Today the country is being run by educated idiots (Democrats) who have been able to fool over half of the American public who then voted for them, so what do you expect to happen?

FTA: “No human being is illegal.”

When I was much younger and my son was still a child, I found out the "state" would help me collect my past-due child support---if I applied for AFDC. So I went to the county office to apply. The little twit reading my application said, "It says here you aren´t receiving the child support from his adoptive father, who is his real father?"

I said I had court ordered payments from the adoptive father, she said "We need the real father´s name."

I started to say, "He is illegitimate, I was raped and don´t know the man´s name."

She interrupted at the comma and said, "He is a real child, no child is illegitimate!"

Semantics don´t change the facts, my son was born without a known father and criminal alien invaders are illegal migrants without government permission--in the form of an immigrant visa received before entry--to be in this country.

There are no silver linings to Mayor de Blasio’s ham-fisted attacks on charter schools, but his strange behavior is providing clarity in several key ways. First, the attacks illustrate how important charters have become. What started as an experiment with a few schools has grown into a genuine movement, one that is thrusting New York into the forefront of educational reform. The actual size of the charter footprint is small — only 70,000 students out of more than 1 million in the city. But the stakes couldn’t be higher, because if charters can make it here, they can make it

He forgot to mention it. Minor oversight, could have happened to anybody. The mandate, remember, has already been suspended this year for people who had their old insurance canceled and who now regard it as a “hardship” to purchase insurance on the supposedly affordable Affordable Care Act exchanges. For them, as Ezra Klein put it at the time, “ObamaCare itself is the hardship.” But there’s an obvious problem with that scheme: The “hardship” exemption applies only to people who used to have insurance, and it applies only for this enrollment period. President Obama’s signature legislative achievement, the Affordable Care Act, has been off to what can be described, at best, as a rocky start. By day two, that number had jumped exponentially to an “astounding” 248. Glitches, crashes, problems with the payment system, less than stellar enrollment by millennials and all sorts of other tech failures have led to the administration paring down its estimate of 7 million enrollees by the end of

NEW YORK – Two buildings have collapsed after an explosion Wednesday morning in East Harlem. It happened around 9 a.m. on Park Avenue on 116th Street, the FDNY said. One of the buildings that collapsed had a piano repair shop with apartments above. The second building housed a church. It’s unclear if anyone was inside the buildings at the time of the explosion. Officials believe the buildings were both 5 stories tall.
The FDNY says so far, 16 injuries have been reported, four serious and 12 minor. Harlem Hospital says it received one patient with serious trauma. Video from the scene shows heavy smoke rising from the area as hundreds of firefighters battle the blaze, which has been upgraded to five-alarms. You have probably seen all of the ridiculous speculating about the GOP nomination in 2016. This is still speculating, but my sincere hope is you don’t think it’s ridiculous too. Kentucky Senator Rand Paul is laying the foundation for his presidential bid in concrete and steel. First, forget about Jeb Bush unless you want to hand Hillary eight years in the White House. The latest Rasmussen poll shows her leading Jeb in a general election 47 percent to 33. His name is Bush and to the general public the specifics of how smart he is doesn’t matter one iota. Then there’s Ted Cruz,

Beyoncé and Jennifer Garner are among the prominent women taking a stand against the term "bossy" and what it stands for in regards to female empowerment. "Being labeled something matters," Garner, 34, says in a promotional video for the campaign. The effort against discouraging girls from leadership is a joint push from the Girl Scouts of America and the Lifetime network. The PSA also includes participation from Jane Lynch, Condoleezza Rice, Diane von Furstenberg, Secretary of Education Arne Duncan and "Lean In" author Sheryl Sandberg. "Girls are less interested in leadership than boys," Beyoncé says, while Lynch adds, "and that´s

How would you feel if a police officer you knew for 20 years told you that if an order were issued to confiscate your guns, he wouldn’t hesitate to “kick your door in”? This was the precisely the experience Connecticut resident, Navy veteran and former firefighter John Cinque had after commenting on his state’s 2013 violation of the Second Amendment. The law in question criminalizes the sale of magazines holding more than 10 rounds and also certain semi-automatic rifles, and mandates that all grandfathered weapons and magazines must be registered with the state. As for Cinque and the exchange with

A report released Tuesday by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform asserted that ex-IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights. Lerner continues to stonewall California Rep. Darrell Issa’s committee, pleading the Fifth again in a divisive Oversight hearing last Wednesday convened to get to the bottom of the IRS’ improper targeting of conservative groups between 2010 and 2012. Oversight member Rep. Jim Jordan told The Daily Caller that the committee is “moving” toward holding Lerner in contempt of Congress to compel her to testify. “I think that’s where we’re moving,” Jordan said. “I think that’s where this is headed.”

During the all-night Senate speech about climate change, Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., said he drove to Hawaii as a teenager. "I just do want to say that right after I turned 17 and got my New Jersey driver´s license, one of the earliest places I drove was a trip — the only trip I have ever taken was to Hawaii," he said on the floor at about 3:00 a.m. "You didn´t drive to Hawaii," Sen. Martin Heinrich, D-N.M., said, correcting the freshman senator. Booker laughed weakly. "I did not drive to Hawaii," he admitted. "Thank you for that clarification, I

Sean Hannity introduced last night’s climate change all-nighter session in the Senate by calling it a “waste of time” for Democrats. He then invited Fox’s Bob Beckel and Greenpeace co-founder turned climate change skeptic Patrick Moore to hash it out over what Hannity called “propaganda and a hoax.” After accusing Beckel of saying everyone in the South believes “crap,” Hannity moved on to Moore, asking him “where is the evidence to suggest this is real and not a political agenda?” “There is no scientific proof that we’re causing climate change,” Moore declared, stressing that he does believe the planet is

Republican David Jolly won the special election to fill the House seat left vacant by the death of his former boss, Rep. C.W. Bill Young (R-Fla.). With nearly all of the votes counted Tuesday night, Jolly had 48.5 percent of the vote to Alex Sink’s 46.7 percent. Libertarian Lucas Overby had 4.8 percent. Sink lost the 2010 governor’s race to Rick Scott. The Democratic Party sunk extensive ad funding into the congressional battle, and DNC chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) tried to paint the loss as a positive. “Republican special interest groups poured in millions to hold onto a Republican

Madison — Police arrested six people believed to be involved in what they´re calling one of the most brutal crimes in recent memory. Madison police say three men planned a home invasion, but broke into the wrong home on Quincy Avenue on the north side around 6 a.m. on February 23. Police say the suspects were aware it was not the intended home, but they proceeded to violently attack the two victims who had been sleeping. The suspects are accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting the woman who was six months pregnant. "I can tell you that in my 27-plus years of
