The audacity of Ben Carson
Washington Examiner, by David Limbaugh

Original Article

Posted By:Hooverdog, 2/12/2013 1:42:40 PM

President Obama must have been stunned at the "audacity" of Dr. Benjamin Carson in challenging his core assumptions right to his face in front of thousands of people at the National Prayer Breakfast. Obama is not used to being challenged, especially in public, even if indirectly and without being specifically named. From the look on his face, it was obvious Obama was none too pleased with Carson´s message or with his "presumptuousness" in presenting it in that forum, while he had to sit still and -- remain silent.

Someone should send this to Cal Thomas. He clearly didn´t get what Dr. Carson was saying and the way in which his speech was framed with Biblical references.

Tribune Media Services should take another look at its syndication contract with Thomas.

Ben Carson is a hero in my book, and so needed at this time. The cowards are everywhere ... in our government, in the media, and on the Supreme Court.

There is a reason he generated so much buzz, Americans yearn for a real leader with character, wisdom, and humility. A Dear Leader dictator does not fill the bill.

The country has lost its way....anything is OK ´cause there are no moral absolutes, Fairness is the equal opportunity to achieve to whatever level you are capable of. There will be help available but it will not be given to you just because you are black, poor, white poor, etc.

Because of your birth in whatever family condition it is, it is NOT your right, just because you are breathing, to have everything given to you without the sweat from your brow.

Obama has no core moral values. It is all about fairness in his mind. If he has read much of the Bible, it is by accident ´cause he certainly doesn´t seem to embrace much of its teachings except to co-opt a verse here or there to suit his political need.

What a great speech. I´m sure that the alphabets are apoplectic over it and will ignore it or marginalize him.

Anyone want to take bets on how fast the libs will label Dr Carson as an Uncle Tom or a " house Negro" ??? Hide and watch, kiddies, it´s gonna happen. They HATE it when someone dares to step off the DemonRat Plantation.

All of Dr. Carson´s remarks were grounded in faith and morality. He absolutely belonged at the prayer breakfast. Despite what Hollywood and MSNBC thinks Obama is not our lord and savior.

No, it has nothing to do with Race, because Obama is financially backed by Whites- it has all to do with power, money, & ideology - it has nothing to do with faith in the Black Race- They are not represented by Obama-
he is the front man for liberal thinking- they divide the Country using race as an excuse- I would have voted for Herman Cain if he had run against Obama - the Black is only skin deep - it ain´t the "person" -

He expressed some concepts with amazing clarity:

Proportional taxation is the most fair approach and comes from the Bible (tithes)

A medical savings account should be created for each child at birth. Contributions should be pre-tax. Patients should decide which health care they´ll buy and be able to pass on savings to their families. Government benefits should go the medical savings account to involve individual choice in how money is spent.

Education is fundamental to our freedom and prosperity. We should have choice of our education from a competitive marketplace.

There were high expectations for Sen. Ted Cruz´s keynote address at CPAC 2013, and he delivered. As a young, passionate Hispanic who happens to be one of the most brilliant and accomplished constitutional experts and Supreme Court lawyers in the U.S. Senate in over half a century, Cruz poses a clear frustration for the left—and some in the Republican establishment as well. Cruz was a rock star at the Conservative Political Action Conference. Whenever anyone mentioned him in their remarks, the utterance was met with applause.

On Wednesday night, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) electrified the crowd at the Coalitions for America’s Weyrich Awards Dinner, named after founder Paul Weyrich. He led off his speech with a dismissive reference to Senator John McCain’s characterization of him as a “wacko bird.” Looking at the crowd, Cruz said, “Birds of a feather flock together.” Cruz led off with a full-on critique of the President’s public relations blitz over sequestration. “2.4 percent cuts were made from your meals,” he joked. He referenced the “emaciated face” of conservative megadonor Foster Friess.

U.S. Catholics who dreamed of an American pope got their wish — in a way — on Wednesday. A South American. It was Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio, archbishop of Buenos Aires, who emerged from the conclave as Pope Francis. Some U.S. church scholars were thrilled, others cautious, and at least one was critical of another aging pope who may be unwilling or unable to make crucial changes in the church. Here is a pope who has contended with all the issues of the modern West — gay marriage, abortion, contraception, women´s rights,

When a staffer texted Senator Mike Lee that his friend and colleague Rand Paul was mounting a talking filibuster to demand greater transparency on the administration’s drone policy, Lee did not hesitate. “I alerted my staff that I would need to be going to the floor,” he says in an interview. Lee was the first of Paul’s Republican colleagues to formally join the filibuster, providing some relief by delivering a speech in support. Senator Ted Cruz of Texas would soon follow, bearing news of the tremendous outpouring of public support on social media

Imagine you´re a waitress, out with friends on a night off, when you lose your wallet. Cash, credit cards, driver´s license—all gone. Your bank later informs you that checks are being issued in your name. It´s a pain, but you carry on. Two weeks later, you´re at work when four people walk in and sit in your section. They start ordering drinks. You ask to see their IDs. A woman in the group hands a driver´s license to you. You look down, and it´s yours.

A very courageous fifth-grade teacher in the Chicago Public Schools has written a scathing critique of the almost comical misery she and her students endured when they participated in a massive February 28 event kicking off Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! Active Schools campaign. The First Lady’s campaign is an effort to improve (and in some cases, bring back) physical education in American schools. White House officials called the event “a groundbreaking, earth-shattering, awesomely-inspiring day.” Lisa Putnam and her fifth grades most certainly did not experience the event the same way, however.

To read most conservative websites you´d have to believe that Hollywood is the holy mecca of liberal hypocrisy, a swarming hive of limousine liberals, and the indulgence capital of the world. And I do happen to believe the truth of that, an assessment arrived at decades ago and acted upon by my absolute absence in movie theaters for those same decades. For conservatives, going to the movies long ago became a form of self-flagellation where one pays exorbitant prices for admission and confections

HOUSTON -- It was a moment weeks in the making: 93-year-old Elbert Wood returned to his home that was rebuilt through the kindness of strangers. “This is purely community effort, from the new grass to the new roof,” radio host Michael Berry told the crowd that gathered in northwest Houston. They offered up a hero’s welcome for Wood, a decorated World War II veteran. Tuesday’s homecoming was a stark contrast to when he returned home from a doctor’s appointment last month to find his home burglarized and vandalized.

Beginning a week of high pressure on gun control, the White House on Monday accused some Republican senators of cowardice for planning to filibuster gun legislation without allowing the full Senate to vote on President Obama’s initiatives. “If they oppose this legislation, have the courage to say so on the floor and vote no,” said White House press secretary Jay Carney. “Don’t block it. Don’t hide behind a procedural action to prevent a vote. That’s the wrong thing to do, and that’s how the president clearly feels.”

There was growing buzz over the weekend that a bipartisan agreement on gun control — a deal that would expand background checks — could hit the floor as early as this week. However, any deal could be derailed by the looming threat of a Republican filibuster involving Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. With Cruz standing proudly in the way of any gun legislation, Democrats are trying to make him pay a political price — and even a couple of high-profile Republicans are questioning his tactics.

Not only did she turn around—decisively—the British economy in the 1980s, she also saw her methods copied in more than 50 countries. "Thatcherism" was the most popular and successful way of running a country in the last quarter of the 20th century and into the 21st. Her origins were humble. Born Oct. 13, 1925, she was the daughter of a grocer in the Lincolnshire town of Grantham. Alfred Roberts was no ordinary shopkeeper.
