Poll: 45% approve of Obama´s
handling of the economy

CBS News, by Sarah Dutton*

As President Barack Obama prepares for the first State of the Union Address of his second term, one which will primarily be focused on economic issues, fewer than half of Americans (45 percent) approve of how he´s handling the economy, while more (49 percent) disapprove. Overall, Mr. Obama is performing better with 52 percent of Americans now approving of the job he is doing as President, while 38 percent disapprove. Mr. Obama´s approval rating has remained fairly constant over the past year, though it rose as high as 57 percent in December. Only 12 percent of Republicans approve;

If 45% approve of Obama´s handling of the economy but 52% approve the job he is doing overall, does that mean that nearly 60% of Americans think Obama is doing a bang-up job on foreign policy?

What do you have to do to the numbers to make them come out this way?

On the other hands, the free stuff crowd has grown of late.

About half the people in the US have no investment, no interest, no skin in the game in the country. They really don´t care what happens wherever they are, they´ll just ride it down and when it crashes they will just go someplace else, hang out, get whatever they can and then move on. There are cultures in the world that have done this since the beginning of time. They have names. It´s how they operate. As long as they are less than half the voters, there´s a chance of survival. When they become the majority of voters...the host country will die.

Don´t believe it, every American who is not part of the permanent political class or the elite media is suffering under the Misery of the O. economy. Boomtown is, of course, exempted.

I have only one question for those CBS followers........

Where were you BEFORE the election?

Reply 7 - Posted by: Northcross, 2/12/2013 8:45:51 AM     (No. 9171630)

40% of the public will never say anything that might reflect badly on Obama, no matter what he does. If you throw those low information folks out of the poll, a more accurate figure among intelligent Americans would be that about 8% would approve of his handling of the economy.

Of the 45% that approve 44.5% are the uninformed who know nothing of the state of the economy, do not praticipate in building the economy and most likely are leaches to the economy.

Does this mean that 52% of the people have sold out their Ethics and Integrity for an Iphone?

Stooping low enough to undermine many of our traditions and honorable institutions it would not surprise me if this group were to elect a child molester as Father of The Year.

Before the election it was fear of what will happen to the free lunch if he loses. Now it is concern of what will happen if his grip on power slips. These numbers have little to do with him per se. They are the fruits of the poison trees the left has planted for over two generations.

These results are not surprising, considering the non-stop barrage of laudatory pro-Obama propaganda coming from CBS and the other networks. Don´t forget, 65% of the news-consuming population still gets all its information from CBS, ABC and NBC, and they believe every word.

President Barack Obama appears with a bull´s-eye on his head in a new English-language magazine published online apparently by Islamist militants, who also urge Muslims around the world to try to hack and manipulate American drones. "Wanted Dead Only. Barack Obama Mass Murderer. Reward: in the Hereafter," reads the full page poster that depicts a darkened image Obama as a target. Last year, when Tamerlan Tsarnaev spent six months in the Russian region of Dagestan, he had a guide with an unusually deep knowledge of the local Islamist community: a distant cousin named Magomed Kartashov. Six years older than Tsarnaev, Kartashov is a former police officer and freestyle wrestler—and one of the region’s most prominent Islamists. In 2011 Kartashov founded and became the leader of an organization called the Union of the Just, whose members campaign for sharia law and pan-Islamic unity in Dagestan, often speaking out against U.S. policies across the Muslim world. Members of the Boko Haram militant group allegedly stormed a military compound and prison in northeastern Nigeria this week, killing dozens and freeing more than 100 prisoners. The coordinated attack is the latest in a series of violent assaults that have taken place since war broke out in 2009 between the extremist Islamist group and the Nigerian military, and observers say neither side shows sign of deescalating. "Heavily armed Boko Haram terrorists" launched the attack, which killed prison guards, policemen, soldiers, and civilians, according to Musa Sagir, the military spokesman in Maiduguri. BALTIMORE — A long-awaited supermarket is finally coming to West Baltimore. As Christie Ileto explains, a 67,000 square foot grocery store ends what residents have long called the “food desert” in Howard Park. Ask any Howard Park resident where the nearest grocery store is and they’ll tell you: “We have to go across tracks to Food King or Security Boulevard,” said Anthony. “Oh, wow. You’re looking at a good mile either way,” said Donald Sterling. After 14 years without a grocery store, area residents relying on public transit will soon look no further than their front doors.

After the year that Matt Lauer has had, you might call it a win that he managed to sneak into the list of the “100 Most Trusted People in America,” as determined by Reader’s Digest magazine with the help of the Wagner Group, a market research firm. But look a little closer and it’s obvious that the well-documented internecine struggles at the “Today” show have taken their toll on Lauer’s nice-guy image. For one thing, only 41% of the more than 1,000 people surveyed said they trust Lauer. That’s the lowest number for any of the network news

Republican lawmakers, who have spent months seeking to tie President Obama to last year’s deadly attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, are increasingly focusing their probe on a new target: former secretary of state Hillary Rodham Clinton. The GOP-led investigation of the Sept. 11, 2012, assaults that killed U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three others now centers heavily on the State Department and whether officials there deliberately misled the public about the nature of the assault. Three State Department officials are scheduled to testify before a House committee on Wednesday about the Benghazi attack and its aftermath.

There was tragic incompetence, plainly, in the Obama administration’s handling of the Benghazi attacks, and even possibly some political calculation. It is a record that may well come to haunt Hillary Clinton, the first Secretary of State to lose an ambassador in the field in more than three decades, if she runs for president in 2016. But the obvious Republican effort to turn this inquiry into the Democratic (Obama) version of the Iraq intelligence scandal that has tarred the GOP since the George W.
