Biden: We’re counting on ‘legitimate
media’ for successful gun control effort

The Washington Examiner, by Charlie Spiering

Original Article

Posted By:PChristopher, 2/12/2013 2:03:25 AM

During a press conference on gun safety in Philadelphia, Vice President Joe Biden said that any reports that suggest that he was trying to take weapons away from gun owners was a “bunch of malarkey.” "I know that´s a word that you´ve never heard before, although it´s now in the dictionary," Biden boasted. Biden said that it was important for the media to dissuade the American public from the idea that the Obama administration was prepared to do something unconstitutional on guns.

Comments:
The Ministry of Propaganda, aka the MSM, does not qualify as legitimate media.

The closest thing we have to a "legitimate media" is FOX News, and even they are iffy lately.

Of course Biden and Obama are lying.

Of COURSE they are working tirelessly to destroy our Second Amendment rights.

That´s why Obama was selling thousands of firarms to Mexico´s most violent drug gangs.

That´s why Obama is hiding behind "executive privilege" and refusing to answer any questions about "Fast & Furious."

Barack Obama hates America.

Barack Obama hates individual freedom.

Barack Obama is at war with our nation.

Go straight to hell, Barky, and take Slow Joe Biden with you.

Biden is nothing but a big mouth opportunist who will follow barry´s orders while wallowing in the adoration of left wing fruit cakes..Biden really believes he´s done such a great job as VP,,it should be a cakewalk to the WH in 4 years.

Everyone of these people have staffers who carefully word their public statements,so you never know if the thoughts are coming from the person, themselves.

i don´t think Biden´s a gun grabber but he wants to stay in good stead with the left to get the nom in 2016.

It´s pretty clever to say they aren´t going to stomp on the 2nd amendment while starving the supply line of ammo.

I could nit-pik the legitimate media statement, due to the fact that we have no televised legitimate media.

Two hungry fan bases and the wealth of the New York metropolitan area had some guessing that Super Bowl XLVIII would turn out to be the most expensive ticket in Super Bowl history. However, judging from the reaction of the resale ticket market in the past 24 hours, it could turn out to be one of the least expensive. On Friday, nine days before the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks meet at MetLife Stadium, the cheapest ticket to buy for the Super Bowl was $1,779 on NFL Ticket Exchange, the league´s official resale site. Thirteen House Democrats have proposed legislation that would require the governemnt to study hate speech on the Internet, mobile phones and television and radio. The bill, sponsoed by Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) and 12 other House Democrats, would look at how those media are used to "advocate and encourage violent acts and the commission of crimes of hate." The Hate Crime Reporting Act, H.R. 3878, is meant to update a 20-year old study from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA). That study, delivered to Congress in 1993, looked at hate speech on radio, TV and computer bulletin boards.

Americans think poor leadership within government is the most important problem facing the nation, according to a new poll. Gallup says 21 percent of people put their dissatisfaction with Congress and politicians in general just above the economy, at 18 percent. Unemployment and health care issues come in third, at 16 percent. Only 3 percent of people cite issues like foreign aid and immigration, and 2 percent say welfare and “a lack of respect for each other” are the top problems. Gallup says concern about the government spiked during the government shutdown in October

A tactic used by the federal government to gather information for anti-drunken and drugged driving programs is coming under criticism in cities around the country, and some local police agencies say they will no longer take part. The tactic involves a subcontractor for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that uses off-duty but uniformed police at voluntary roadside checkpoints where motorists are asked on their behavior behind the wheel. In some cases, workers at the checkpoints collect blood and saliva samples, in addition to breath samples. NHTSA has said previously that the surveys do not collect any DNA.

This is either a glaring admission of defeat from the White House or… no, that’s really all it could be. After weeks of defending the cancellation of health plans insurers discontinued in 2013 in order to comply with the Affordable Care Act’s coverage mandates, the White House announced in November of last year that it was urging insurers to reinstate those plans. The catch was, of course, that most insurers would be unable to turn on a dime and reinstate those plans. Furthermore, the administration allowed individual states leeway to determine whether or not they would even allow insurers to reinstate
