More Hagel Speeches Emerge,
Suggesting he Misled Senate

Breitbart´s Big Government, by Joel B. Pollak

Original Article

Steven Emerson’s Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT) told Breitbart News Monday that it has uncovered additional speeches given by former Sen. Chuck Hagel, who is awaiting confirmation as Secretary of Defense. The speeches suggest that Hagel may have misled the Senate Armed Services Committee twice during his confirmation hearing on Jan. 31: first, when he suggested that the controversy over his views was about "one individual" quote, vote, or statement rather than his consistent and strongly-held opinions over time; and second, when Hagel told the committee:

Comments:
It would be an utter travesty if this incompetent fool is confirmed. This regime is incapable of nominating competent people. Are the Republicans paying attention??

Let me fix that headline: More Hagel Speeches Emerge, Suggesting he Lied to the Senate.

There, that´s better.

Republicans, I believe, really are in a pickle over in the Senate. They would rather do their usual "talk big but chcken out in the end" but such utterly devastating stuff keeps coming out about Hagel. He also has balked at releasing information. Now, he may have lied? Yep, at this point, I can´t imagine even one Republican voting in the affirmative.

John McCain is a useful idiot.

The White House on Tuesday defended President Obama´s appearance on a comedy talk show to pitch Obamacare, saying it was the “right call” to reach more Americans. Obama appeared on “Between Two Ferns” a mock online talk show hosted by comedian Zach Galifianakis. The segment featured Obama and Galifianakis trading insults and the president trying to deliver serious answers to many of the host’s humorously misinformed questions. Some critics said that Obama’s appearance on the unconventional talk show was not appropriate for a sitting president. White House press secretary Jay Carney said the interview

What if it isn’t Hillary? That is the question Democrats ask themselves with some regularity these days as they peer down the road toward 2016, assuming but not knowing that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will play her expected role as prohibitive favorite to carry the party’s banner in the next presidential campaign. The question took a new twist over the weekend when current Secretary of State John Kerry turned in a star performance as a speaker at the annual Gridiron Dinner in Washington. The Gridiron is a white-tie gathering of journalists, politicians and business leaders at which select

For years, the Federal Communications Commission has allowed TV stations to execute joint operating agreements allowing themselves to outsource tasks such as advertising sales to group owners with more resources. But when conservative columnist and entrepreneur Armstrong Williams recently purchased two stations, making him one of America’s few black owners of local TV affiliates, the commission unexpectedly decided to use his acquisition as a test case to review the practice. The actions — coupled with other recent FCC decisions such as a plan to survey newsrooms that alarmed news media before it was withdrawn — have injected questions about whether a commission

Former Arkansas governor and 2008 Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee said that donors are rushing him with offers of big-dollar support, clearing away his highest hurdle to entering the 2016 GOP primaries. The biggest difference between 2008 and this year, he said, is that supporters and well-financed contributors are urging him to run and pledging to fund his effort. One of the main reasons why: He has the best knowledge of the Clinton campaign machine, knows Bill and Hillary Clinton and their tactics well, and has run and won against two female candidates. “I certainly know the Clintons; I know

For now, the "one-stop shopping" experience at Healthcare.gov repeatedly promised by President Obama is still at least one stop short of the goal. In early January, news reports revealed a glaring shortcoming at Healthcare.gov: no function existed to report "life events," such as the birth of a child or a divorce, which could alter coverage needs or eligibility for tax credits. Although this feature was subsequently added, the site still lacks the ability to report changes to basic contact information to a consumer´s insurance company: a new address, email, or phone number. While the president is flying in on Air Force One for the intimate “fireside chat” at Patricof’s home in front of just 26 people at the $32,400 per ticket event, private equity and venture capital pioneer Patricof has made it clear the fund-raiser is not to bolster Obama, but to boost the Democratic National Committee ahead of a possible Clinton presidential run. Cynics might well suggest that last night´s global warming “talkathon” by Senate Democrats from deep-blue states provided enough hot air to heat up the atmosphere. But such cynicism would miss the deeper significance of a political maneuver that was difficult to rationalize, even by Washington standards. Led by Sen. Brian Schatz of Hawaii, the talkathon featured an all-night procession of Democratic senators pouring forth global warming alarmism, derision for global warming “deniers” and strident demands for “action.” Notably absent from the proceedings were Democrats seeking re-election in November from red states -- Mary Landrieu of Louisiana, Mark Pryor of Arkansas

The 300,000-member union that was the first to endorse then-Senator Barack Obama has released a devastating Obamacare report that says Obama´s controversial healthcare program will slash worker wages by up to $5 an hour, reduce worker hours, and exacerbate income inequality. The report by Unite Here--a North American labor union that represents workers in the hotel, gaming, food service, manufacturing, textile, distribution, laundry, and airport industries--is titled: "The Irony of ObamaCare: Making Inequality Worse." CBS News investigative correspondent Sharyl Attkisson has reached an agreement to resign from CBS News ahead of contract, bringing an end to months of hard-fought negotiations, sources familiar with her departure told POLITICO on Monday. Attkisson, who has been with CBS News for two decades, had grown frustrated with what she saw as the network´s liberal bias, an outsized influence by the network´s corporate partners and a lack of dedication to investigative reporting, several sources said. She increasingly felt like her work was no longer supported and that it was a struggle to get her reporting on air.

Kentucky Senator Rand Paul is laying the foundation for his presidential bid in concrete and steel. First, forget about Jeb Bush unless you want to hand Hillary eight years in the White House. The latest Rasmussen poll shows her leading Jeb in a general election 47 percent to 33. His name is Bush and to the general public the specifics of how smart he is doesn’t matter one iota.
