| Texas Gov. Rick Perry was scheduled to be in California the start of this week. The Associated Press reported the governor planned to meet with executives in San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Los Angeles and Orange County. Gov. Perry´s office said he would meet with leaders in the high-tech, biotech, financial, insurance and entertainment industries. The visit follows a modest radio ad campaign launched last week – which then spawned nationwide media attention – aimed at promoting the Lone Star State´s lower taxes and friendlier business climate. snip

Calif is a lost cause. Forget about it. Nothing can save it from itself. The idiot electorate have installed a communist regime beholden to the state workers unions. The dems have a 2/3 lock on both houses of the legislature, much like Pelosi and Reid had for 2 years. They are going after guns big time an are currently working to undermine the ballot initiative process by giving voters less of an opportunity for input. Also lurking are their attempts to dio away with Prop 13 property tax limitations. These are only 3 examples of the mayhem currently underway.
Those who can leave are. Those who can`t will pay dearly.

Until we have the regime issue a dictate eliminating travel between states, expect California, Illinois, NY and a couple of other states to see companies leave in droves. With the ‘recovery’ fizzling, companies will need to find ways to cut liabilities and cost as much as possible. And Texas is there with open arms.

You´re welcome to come to Texas, but leave your liberal politics at the California state border on the way out.
But maybe we do need that border fence here in Texas ... on the northern, western and eastern borders. And a cattle guard around Austin to contain the liberal population that has infested that town.

I love CA but did not live in the LA or SF regions where things cost a fortune with all of the taxes. The teachers union is the recipient of billions of dollars and are worthless and students are way behind other state schools.

Just a thought here. Maybe states should have a 5 year waiting period before a new resident can vote in local elections. Or, maybe they should require state history classes and passing a citizenship test before an applicant is allowed to become a state citizen (similar to "legal" immigrants). This would at least slow down the poisonous leftist political "virus" (cancer?) that seems to be consuming our country.
I know. I know. It would work both ways; but, who would WILLINGLY want to move to a leftist cesspool like California? ;-)

#9, California is NOT a leftist cesspool. San Francisco, Oakland, and parts of Los Angeles might be, but there are large parts of the state that´s as conservative as any where else. Not all Californians are liberals.

Texans - Watch out for the Austin, TX area! You have a lot of liberal leftists teaching at Univ of Texas and at those high tech operations surrounding Austin. Also, watch out for San Antonio. I love Texas - I don´t want it to change. When you move to Texas - LEAVE YOUR liberal nonsense at the border!!

London, England - A new wealth tax is being proposed by the leftist wing (The Liberal Democrats) of our coalition government that will come with unprecedented powers to enter our homes and root through our personal possessions to value rings, necklaces, paintings and furniture, anything that might raise more taxes. If we refuse to be inspected or get our own valuations wrong, we would be facing fines, maybe even a jail sentence. This brainchild was conceived by the Lib Dems for their next election manifesto and is part of a series of measures planned to tax the better off.

As most real conservatives know, Obama, by his own admissions, appointments, associates, and actions, is a hard-core, 21st century, Marxist revolutionary. This means that while he has no real plan for what his utopian, pie-in-the-sky collectivist state would look like, or how it would survive as an economic entity, he is dedicated to destroying our existing free, constitutional, capitalist republic to start the process. It also means that like all Marxists, archaic and modern, his primary enemy is what Marx called the bourgeoisie – the Middle Class. As those who went to school while actual history

A week from now, a dramatic new federal policy is set to go into effect that threatens U.S. national security, thousands of jobs and more. In a bit of irony, President Obama stood Tuesday with first responders who could lose their jobs if the policy goes into effect. Most Americans are just hearing about this Washington creation for the first time: the sequester. What they might not realize from Mr. Obama´s statements is that it is a product of the president´s own failed leadership.

Leaving aside for the moment the likelihood that parties and party politics in America will become moot within the next few years (owing to the emergence of a single party or the country’s dissolution into civil war), conservatives and libertarians are finding themselves at an unpleasant crossroads. While some observers gave up on the leadership of the Republican Party long ago, it is now becoming apparent to rank-and-file Republicans that the GOP leadership and its prominent operatives are wholly complicit in the fundamental transformation of America.

Outgoing Defense Secretary Leon Panetta reportedly believes the military should receive a pay cut in order to respond to the budget cuts facing the Pentagon — a position that might strengthen the Republican push to reverse President Obama’s executive order raising the salary of Vice President Joe Biden and other federal officials. “Panetta will recommend to Congress that military salaries be limited to a one percent increase in 2014,” CNN reports, explaining that Panetta is “effectively decreasing troop salaries next year . . . The decision comes as the secretary is stepping up the rhetoric about dire cuts at the Pentagon if sequestration goes into effect.” Headline split and Content added by staff.

The dictionary tells us that a constitution is a law, or compilation of laws, determining the fundamental political principles of a government. The people of the United States have a constitution. Now, I know this will come as a shock to many, but we actually DO have a constitution, which was written at the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia in 1787 and subsequently ratified by the original thirteen states.

Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) plans to introduce (or has already introduced) gun-control legislation in the 113th Congress, ostensibly to protect the lives of children, and to curb mass murders, like the one that occurred in Newtown, CT. At the same time, Feinstein is very pro-choice and supports taxpayer funding for abortions. She opposes bans on partial-birth abortion. She has spoken about the constitutional right to an abortion and, in 2003, on the Senate floor, spoke in support of Roe v Wade. She, in 2005, opposed the Unborn Victims of Violence Act. snip

RUSH: Folks, I don´t know how else to categorize this. We are living in a dying country. I don´t know how else to categorize what´s happening -- 88,000 new jobs. The unemployment rate, because of a terrible statistic, is down to 7.6%. The number of people in this country who are not working is shameful. Ninety million Americans are no longer in the workforce. Ninety million. People not in the labor force grew by 663,000, and now 90 million. That´s the labor force participation rate. This is 1979 levels.

President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Irin Carmon does a great job in Salon in laying out the bounds of propriety for when it´s appropriate to talk about a woman´s looks as a general matter. But I´ve long felt we lack a solid theoretical underpinning for easily discussing these issues, and why precisely it is that

No one is more preoccupied these days with Hillary Clinton´s 2016 plans than the Beltway political class—not even the former presidential candidate herself. To hear some tell it, her decision will be dispositive for all other Democrats thinking of entering the race. And pundits and reporters aren´t the only ones positing the "The Hillary Factor": No less than the House Democratic whip, Steny Hoyer, told BuzzFeed, “I don´t know that anybody would run against Hillary…. If she runs, she clears the field.” It´s an understandable conclusion, given Clinton´s stature in the Democratic Party and her 70 percent

They´re starting to grow out, get a little irritating.´ Still, she hasn´t let her hairdo woes get her down. ´It´s okay,´ she said after her initial complaint. ´We´ll be good.´ The first indication that her hairstyle was becoming a burden came about last weekend, when Malia, 14, was spotted adjusting her mother´s hair during the White House Easter Egg Roll.
