In post-election vacuum,
Rubio on rise within GOP

Associated Press, by Ken Thomas

WASHINGTON -- Marco Rubio is taking center stage as Republicans search for a new leader. In the nearly 100 days since President Barack Obama won a second term, the Florida senator has made calculated, concrete steps to emerge as a next-generation leader of a rudderless party, put a 21st-century stamp on the conservative movement and potentially position himself for a presidential run. The bilingual Cuban-American lawmaker has become Republicans´ point person on immigration and he pitches economic solutions for middle-class workers. He is an evangelist for a modern, inclusive party that welcomes more Hispanics and minorities,

Comments:
Rubio ought to be an ideal choice for those of you yearning for someone who is anything but old guard GOP.

Imagine any type of contest where Party A plays by the rules but Party B cheats.

The most devastating consequence may be that Party A abandons a "Winning" strategy because the nefarious deeds of Party B inserted bad data into the feedback loop.

Unaware that Party B is cheating, Party B makes unwise changes based on bad data.

Mitt won.

This looks like the usual MSM Buildup-in-Order-That-We-Can-Bring-Him-Down operation, doesn´t it? This is about the fourth non-hostile MSM article on Rubio that I´ve seen in the last week and a half. Hostile articles will begin a couple of months before the 2016 election, when Rubio will be running either for re-election to the Senate or for some higher office. Sorry, my cynicism is showing.

#3 - we need the current laws to be enforced. We need the border secured. We need policies in place that drive self-deportation.

What is my incentive to follow the law if by breaking it long enough I get rewarded.

Rubio s just another Republican flipper.

The critical issue in any immigration reform is sealing the border FIRST. Notice how every ´Rat becomes a weasel on that one. If Rubio has the skills, guts and honesty to press that to the end, he has my vote.

There are no new ideas on immigration reform, just old, recycled plans that amount to amnesty now, lip service about border security, exponential amnesty later, and everybody knows it. The illegal alien invasion is a disaster that cannot be fixed. It´s too late.

The way I have been seeing it is that both parties want those illegals here. They work cheap, they aren´t unionized and they don´t complain much. They are, in effect, a slave class that is needed to work industries that cannot afford all the taxes and benefits congress has mandated for American workers.
With that as a given, its easy to see why neither party is serious about securing the border. They are unlikely to be in the future.

Rubio is a RINO in training. Besides, the information from some in his district share disturbing facts about his financial affairs. Sounds like he wants to pull a "Wexler" of maintaining an address in FL., but live and work in D.C. The MSM is building him up as they know he will be one that can easily be defeated. And, for the usual group of the T.E.A. movement naysayers here, they are in lock-step as usual.

Right on #16 and 17 - take away the benefits and the problem resoves itself. Toughen the border to illegal immigrants in the very least to the same standards Mexico applies to legal immigrants. Immigration reform is Rubio´s weak spot.I do not trust him for all his youthful charm, whereas Sen. Cruz has a solid take on the issue.

Rubio´s interview with Hugh Hewitt was totally different than his interview with Limbaugh.
Limbaugh talks over his rare guests and tried to get Rubio to agree with his theories about Obama.
Hewitt let Rubio go into depth about the reform principles and asked probing questions designed
to get answers to serious questions.
Hewitt conducted the same type of informative interview with Senator Flake.
Rubio reiterated that his principles as outlined as just a framework.
And it´s not a path to citizenship, but, a path to a green card.
Both he and Senator Flake estimated it would take someone 15 years to complete the green card process.
Rubio and Flake emphasized that Border security must come first.
A panel of border Governors , local ranchers, etc will be the ones to decide if the border is secure.
Senator Flake discussed the Yuma corridor as an example of how they have employed a combination of techniques to make that area secure.
Rubio is extremely articulate , without being preachy and didactic.
And he´s obviously very bright.
There is an openness and warmth about Rubio that is absent with Obama and it will be hard for the media to demonize Rubio.
Although, they will try. As will some on the far right.

Whatever good qualities Rubio might have are being wasted on a LIBERAL issue that is being forced down our throats. More immigration, legal or illegal will only cripple America even further. The willful act of increasing our population by many millions with a real unemployment rate in the teens while we live under what is basically a dictatorial America hating socialist is beyond insanity. If Rubio is so naive to believe that his actions would mean anything other than one party rule than he is the last person we need to lift up.

This comes despite falling methane emission levels across the economy since 1990. The White House has proposed cutting methane emissions from the dairy industry by 25 percent by 2020. Although U.S. agriculture only accounts for about 9 percent of the country’s greenhouse gas emissions, according to the Environmental Protection Agency, it makes up a sizeable portion of methane emissions — which is a very potent greenhouse gas.
