Obama to refocus on economy
in State of the Union

Associated Press, by Staff

President Barack Obama will focus his State of the Union address on boosting job creation and economic growth at a time of high unemployment, underscoring the degree to which the economy could threaten his ability to pursue second-term priorities such as gun control, immigration policy and climate change. Obama also may use Tuesday´s prime-time address before a joint session of Congress to announce the next steps for concluding the U.S.-led war in Afghanistan by the end of 2014. Obama´s State of the Union marks his second high-profile speech to the nation in about three weeks, after his

Of course he will. s/o You mean he´s going to tell us how he plans on further destroying it? He´s been saying the same pathetic lies over and over and over again. It´s beyond tedious.

Last time, he scolded the SC justices for a vote that he didn´t like. Wonder if this time he will thank John Roberts for his perfidious vote on Obamacare?

I saw Ken Langone on a business show recently. He is one of the founders of Home Depot.

Langone said that Home Depot was as the right time, not possible to start that company now. He explained that provisions in Sarbanes Oxley prohibit the type of stock incentive used to get the company started. Company currently has 331,000 employees.

Any politician who is not willing to review bad legislation (like SarBox, obamacare or FinReg) is bald face lying when they say they are focusing on jobs. And I mean you obama.

Re: Tony Fratto, who worked in the White House during President George W. Bush´s second term, said....
"We´re not in a position where Obama can blame anybody else for the economy now," Fratto said, "Now it´s his eccomy."

Fratto treats Obama as normal. Obama is a narcisst who lacks the personal responsibility trait. He can never accept blame or admit fault. Obama will once again note the mess he inherited and how it takes 4 to 5 terms in office to recover from the things Booosh, and now the GOP, have done. "Therefore, I will issue an executive order suspending the 22nd Amendment as well as the 1st and 2nd Amendments since they were written by old white men who owned slaves."

He´ll say whatever he needs to say to keep fooling enough of the people all the time.

1% growth? Are you kidding me?

Our trade deficit is shrinking because we are pumping more of our own oil not because the economy is improving.
We are even selling some overseas.

Why aren´t we taking advantage of the $20/barrel cost-savings and ensuring we all have cheap gasoline?

Democrats don´t want cheap gasoline.

The so called -0.1% ´growth´ reported last quarter is worse than reported. If anyone noticed they used an inflation number of 0.6% to calculate that number. If you use even the ´cooked´ 2% inflation then the real number is -1.5%.

Following up last weekend’s official White House photo of President Obama talking on the phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the administration today released another phone photo, this one of a conversation with French President Francois Hollande. This one comes from Key Largo, Fla., where Obama is spending the weekend before returning to Washington to host a reception Monday for the 2012 and 2013 NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Champions before moving on to fundraising events Tuesday. “The President welcomed the strong, unified stance of the United States and the European Union regarding Russia’s military intervention in Ukraine, including

Two days after a shocking defeat, liberals are still grousing about the Senate spiking the nomination of former NAACP Legal Fund Director Debo Adegbile to be head of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division. What really burns them up is not just that Republicans successfully filibustered one of President Obama’s choices for a government post but that six Democrats joined with them. But rather than take responsibility for putting forward a controversial figure who was sure to provoke bitter opposition from both sides of the aisle, liberals are reverting to form by blaming their defeat on conservative demagoguery and racism. WASHINGTON — In late December, President Barack Obama´s new legislative affairs team sent him more than a dozen recommendations for ways to improve his strained relations with Capitol Hill. The president responded with a few ideas of his own, including a request for more social events with lawmakers at the White House. It was a surprising suggestion from a president who has done little socializing with lawmakers of either party and has dismissed the notion that sharing a cocktail or a meal with members of Congress is a prescription for easing Washington gridlock. Via Matt Lewis, here’s Maverick once again demonstrating that “cordial relationship” in politico-speak means “two people who can’t publicly admit to hating each other but obviously do.” And it’s a cheap shot. Cruz’s point yesterday at CPAC was that Dole, McCain, and Romney lost because they weren’t conservative enough. That’s not because they’re gutless — he said specifically that they were “good” and “decent” men — but because they’re not committed, full-throated ideologues, even less so when they’re fighting for purple states in a national election. We can debate whether that’s true but there’s nothing offensive in raising the subject.

Hers, however, is an eloquent silence. The most intrusive and potentially most punitive federal agency has been politicized; the IRS has become an appendage of Barack Obama’s party. One of the most seismic changes in American politics over the last decade has been the emergence of a sharp generational split among the electorate. The Democratic Party owes its success in the last two presidential elections almost entirely to overwhelming support among the very young, which has overcome continued conservatism among older voters. The Pew Research Institute has dominated the field of exploring the ideological cleavages among different generations. And its latest survey shows again how the liberalism of the youngest voting cohort, millennials, remains firm, and likely to continue to recast the electorate. A few charts from the survey
