GOP Leaders Wield
Unlikely Weapon Against
Obama: Bob Woodward

National Review Online, by Eliana Johnson

Original Article

Republicans Friday afternoon bludgeoned the administration with an unlikely weapon in the political battle over the impending sequestration: the words of Bob Woodward, theWashington Post journalist whose exposure of the Watergate scandal in 1972 brought down the Nixon presidency. As White House press secretary Jay Carney blasted “spin doctors on the Republican side” for spreading the “fanciful concoction” that the White House wanted the sequester, House Republicans deployed a passage from Woodward’s most recent book, The Price of Politics, that tells a different story. According to Woodward

Usually when this sort of fight happens, there´s always one or two repubs like Chuck Hagel more than willing to stab other repubs in the back.

There was a time if a president was caught in one lie,he may as well hang it up. Bubba got away with the Lewenski lie but still made the news cycle all the time.It took months of spinning from the likes of Lanni Davis to weasel out of it.

Obama lies so often about so many things that even if he told the truth about something, nobody would believe him.

On top of being a liar himself,he has a huge network of liars covering his back.

Imagine if Bush simply disappeared while our embassy was under attack. You wouldn´t be able to find a liberal anywhere who wasn´t demanding impeachment.

There´s probably some journalists who would love to question some things in obama world but figure there´s no use because the editors won´t allow it.

~~“It’s important for people to know that the president was ultimately responsible for conceiving of this idea,” Buck tells National Review Online. “The president has tried to pin [the sequester] on Congress, saying that they came up with it and that they must fix it, when in fact Congress thought this was a terrible mechanism to use,” explains. “This is what the White House insisted on.”~~

This NEWS should be on every network, every single time the president lays the blame on the mean Republicans. However, as ususal, the majority of Americans will not be aware of it, thanks to the dem lapdogs in the press.

Bob Woodward helped to bring a gov´t down over a small break in. That´s all it was. Now there´s murder (Libya) - who´s there to call someone to task for it? A very sad state of affairs. As Clint Eastwood said "if D.C. ´doesn´t give a damn´, how can we?" We can but we don´t have much of a voice right now. I have emailed my democratic congressman a few times about Libya and get the usual reply "thanks for writing". It´s time for voter ID cards so people can´t vote numerous times. Get rid of the early voting also if you can´t prove you won´t be here on election day. "Vote early, vote often" as the saying goes.

Immunity from playing fast and loose with the truth - in other words lying, is strictly a One Party phenomenon. Bubba´s finger shaking escapades did not give any leeway to Bush, Palin or Romney. In fact there has been a vigorous efforts to pursue trivial technicalities to play gotcha and the game of ´everyone does it´. Look for this to go into high gear next four years.

Unfortunately, the motto of the US has been changed from "In God We Trust" to "Senator, What Difference Does it Make?" There is a national miasma that has descended on at least half of this country with the coronation of King Barry. With the lack of interest by the media and the incompetence by the Republicans (look at the governors who caved with the Obamacare exchanges) there isn´t much hope.

The saintly Woodward matter of factly recorded the invent that led to sequestration as it occurred. He did not have to go back and research and investigate the event so he does not have as much invested in this story as he did Watergate. He will probably back its authenticity but will not push the story as he did with Watergate. No other reporters carry as much water as the saintly Woodward so if he does not advance it the MSM will cover for Obama like they do everything else and the LOIV will readily accept Obama´s narrative (if they even care--which they don´t).

I submit that the GOP has no leaders. None. It is now being loosely managed, not led, by a cluster of functionaries or apparatchiks groping for a direction that will not offend too many people on too many sides.

A leader does not worry about polls, doesn´t . A leader creates a vision based on principles, puts it before the people fearlessly, and inspires them to follow.

Who of our functionaries has come close to doing this?

I remain hopeful, waiting for a real leader to arise.

The disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 has exposed the technological limits of satellites, which can see a license plate from space — if not necessarily read it — but struggle to find a missing jetliner. These limits are shaped by physics, money and practicality. Military and commercial satellites are not closely observing and amassing data about the blank places on the map in lightly traveled seas — such as remote areas of the Indian Ocean thousands of miles from where Flight MH370 vanished from radar. There’s also a trade-off when scrutinizing the surface from space: You can go wide

When the National Zoo’s female sloth bear, Khali, delivered three cubs last December, she consumed one of them right after it was born. Carnivores do this in the wild when there is a sick offspring. A deceased cub in the den can draw predators, the zoo said. But a week later, when Khali consumed a second cub, keepers feared for the third. So for the first time in the zoo’s history, keepers took a sloth bear cub from its mother to raise by hand. Three months later, after weeks of incubators, midnight feedings and quiet sessions in a rocking chair,

Early in the Ukraine crisis, when the Europeans were working on bringing Ukraine into the EU system and Vladimir Putin was countering with threats and bribes, one British analyst lamented that “we went to a knife fight with a baguette.” That was three months ago. Life overtakes parody. During the Ukrainian prime minister’s visit to Washington last week, his government urgently requested military assistance. The Pentagon refused. It offered instead military ration kits. Putin mobilizes thousands of troops, artillery and attack helicopters on Ukraine’s borders and Washington counters with baguettes, American-style. Federal officials have no qualms flying the friendly skies in style, regularly using executive jets and other planes in the government’s fleet of 1,700 aircraft for everyday travel. But they often don’t track how much such trips cost or the reasons why they skipped cheaper commercial flights in favor of firing up one of Uncle Sam’s aircraft. And lawmakers in Congress — usually charged with overseeing or reining in such expenditures — have their own addiction to luxury travel with a growing tendency to fly first class. IT’S EASY to conclude that Vladimir Putin’s passionate defense of Russia’s takeover of Crimea “just didn’t jibe with reality,” as Secretary of State John F. Kerry put it. In a speech on Tuesday, the Russian ruler repeated mendacious charges that the Ukrainian government had been hijacked by “nationalists, neo-Nazis, Russophobes and anti-Semites”; voiced his paranoid conspiracy theory about supposed Western sponsorship of popular revolutions, including the Arab Spring; and brazenly compared Russia’s abrupt annexation of Ukraine with the reunification of Germany.
