The U.S. Navy will delay the refueling of the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) for an unknown period because of the uncertain fiscal environment due to the ongoing legislative struggle, the service told Congress in a Friday message obtained by USNI News.(Snip) ´´This delay is due to uncertainty in the Fiscal Year 2013 appropriations bill, both in the timing and funding level available for the first full year of the contract,” the message said.

From the picture we look like sitting ducks, similar to Pearl Harbor.

This is treasonous. Not just for having such a valuable asset sitting idle but to proclaim it is out of service and publicize this administration´s incompetence in the belief they will gain politically.

The USS Lincoln is a shining symbol of the ´New Liberal´s Lincoln´ in the White House...

Obama and Mooch will still take separate planes and they will be fueled. Pelosi needs her plane readied for a California weekend. Panetta needs his plane readied so he can spend the weekend in Ca. I understand Medendez is flying to the Dominican Republic for the weekend.

Prez dipwad will not be satisfied until all borders are down and the mooslims can run in and kill more people. Mexicans should reform their government, but for some reason, they are afraid of their own government. Wish I could feel sympathy for them, but I do not - set land mines if necessary.

This is what happens when the morons get their way. Remember: "It will be a great day when our schools get all the money they need and the Air Force has to have a bake sale to buy a bomber"?

It was sentimental foolishness when it was just a bumper sticker. Now, that sentimentality has become dangerous.

I think there is a lot of smoke and mirrors, bait and switch and all sorts of posturing by all special interests to avoid the sequestration. Even the Pentagon is not immune to this.

#9 is correct. This is smoke and mirrors. I worked for DOD as a $$ type for 25 years and I know how the game is played. Panetta is working with the Administration to make everyone think they don´t have money. IT´S A LIE.

Obama is working to turn his proposed sequester into a weapon to trash GOP. On Thursday, Charles Krauthammer and other conservatives wrote that GOP had upper hand in sequester fight. Obama, Axlerod and Jarrett are now seeking to turn this into an Obama advantage by using potential budget cuts as yet another weapon to blame Repubs.

Boehner, Cantor and team have to avoid turning into mush.

Like a recurring nightmare, the return of O.J. Simpson to a Las Vegas courtroom come Monday will remind Americans of a tragedy that became a national obsession and in the process changed the country´s attitude toward the justice system, the media and celebrity. His 1995 trial is the stuff of legends, the precipitous fall of a Hall of Fame football player from the pinnacle of adoration to a murder defendant who, although acquitted of killing his ex-wife and her friend, was never absolved in the public mind.

According to Romney, Washington isn’t addressing the most important issues to either Democrats or Republicans. In the interview, Romney addressed the scandals facing Washington, saying he refused to “jump on the bandwagon of attacking the president and everything that’s going on in Washington.”

Making a pitch for Democratic candidates in 2014, President Obama told big donors in California Thursday night that Democrats favor free-market solutions and less government regulation. “It turns out we’re pretty common-sense folks,” Mr. Obama said at a fundraiser at a private home in Palo Alto, Calif. “We believe in the free market [and] a light touch when it comes to regulations.” A report by the Heritage Foundation last year found that the Obama administration in its first three years adopted 106 “major regulations” that increased burdens on the private sector,

For several months, the Benghazi scandal lay dormant, apparently forgiven and forgotten. Then, inexplicably, it reared its ugly head when Congressmen Ron Johnson and Jason Chaffetz smelled Obama´s blood in the water. After feigning affliction with the flu, and then ostensibly tumbling down a carpeted stairwell resulting in an unconfirmed concussion, then-Secretary of State Clinton was finally forced to testify before Congress. Canadian researchers have found that high-fructose corn syrup can cause behavioral reactions in rats ´similar to those produced by drugs of abuse, such as cocaine´. Professor Francesco Leri of the University of Guelph, who carried out the research, said it suggested there was an addictive quality to foods that contain high levels of high-fructose corn syrup which could explain, at least partly, the current global obesity epidemic. During the experiment, rats were fed foods containing varying levels of high-fructose corn syrup. They were then given access to a lever which controlled how much syrup they received.
