We really have to be careful about the use of language in this area.
RKBA is not a "Constitutional right." So classifying it implicitly declares it to be a grant by the Constitution, or within the reach of Constitutional authority, and therefore subject to alteration, limitation, etc. under the Constitution.
In point of fact, RKBA is a supra-Constitutional right. It is a short-hand descriptor of the innate, inalienable right to personal self-defense. And that right is recognized as existing before, above, and beyond reach of the Constitution ["inalienable"]. That does not mean that civil society has no recourse against criminal acts. Such acts carry in themselves forfeiture of those rights. Note -- forfeiture. It isn´t that civil society takes those rights. The difference is easily perceived with a little clear thinking, and is of great significance.
But -- good for Kansas.

The Constitution does not grant rights. Its intent is to put restrictions on governments´ [sic] authority to abridge or infringe them. That is why busy-bodies and activists like the Kenyan squatter in our White House characterize it as a "negative document." When obeyed and applied, it negatively affects their ability to control our lives.

New Orleans - Louisiana lawmakers on Tuesday questioned the wisdom of eliminating the state´s income tax without raising sales taxes, one day after Governor Bobby Jindal said he would delay his plan to scrap the income tax. Bahrain on Tuesday became the first Arab country to blacklist Hizbullah as a terrorist organization, the Al Arabiya network reports. The move came a week after the Bahraini parliament voted to label the group a terrorist organization. Its alleged backing and training of radical Shiite groups against Bahrain was the main reason given for the decision, the report said. The biggest border crossing between North Korea and China has been closed to tourist groups, a Chinese official says, as nuclear tensions mounted, but business travel was allowed to continue. "Travel agencies are not allowed to take tourist groups to go there, since the North Korean government is now asking foreign people to leave," the official at the Dandong Border Office said. Wyoming Republican Sen. Mike Enzi may be gearing up to run for re-election in 2014, but that doesn’t mean Liz Cheney is ruling out a run for the Senate seat now. A source close to the politically active daughter of Vice President Dick Cheney tells The Daily Caller that she is still seriously considering running.
