Remember back in what was it - 2006 or thereabouts - when left-leaning critics of President Bush couldn´t stop talking about how nothing was more red, white, and blue than good old-fashioned American dissent? Why, our very country was founded by an act of dissent, didn´t you know! So back when Vice President Dick Cheney - routinely likened to Darth Vader and Voldemort - was running things, the very air was filled with cries of "not in our name" and all that, because it was so damned important that the United States not contravene its

President Obama will host at least six fundraisers for Senate Democrats ahead of the 2014 midterm elections, a Democratic aide said Monday. The president´s commitment comes after he huddled last week in the Oval Office with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Chairman Michael Bennet (D-Colo.) and DSCC Executive Director Guy Cecil. According to Politico, which first reported the fundraisers, the fundraising appearances will include trips to New York and the Washington suburbs in the "coming weeks." The president is also planning to hold fundraisers for Senate Majority PAC, the outside group dedicated to preserving Democratic

Judicial Watch announced Monday that it received documents through a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit showing that Admiral William McRaven ordered the immediate destruction of any photos of Osama bin Laden’s death within hours of a Judicial Watch FOIA request. According to the Pentagon documents, McRaven sent his email on “Friday, May 13, 2011 5:09 PM.” The documents do not detail what documents, if any, were destroyed in response to the McRaven directive. The Judicial Watch FOIA lawsuit seeking the documents was filed in the United States Court for the District of Columbia only hours earlier. Judicial Watch also announced the

Socialism, not access to health

Each passing day is more incriminating for President Obama´s Obamacare, as the news is like a relentless prosecutor amassing evidence against a serial killer. Yet the more evidence that rolls in condemning the president´s "signature achievement" -- wouldn´t you love to have that albatross hung around your epitaph? -- the more entrenched Obama becomes, making clear that his heart is not with the American people or their needs but stubbornly fixated on self. His singular goal is not to provide "affordable health care" but to slay those who are trying to take his "baby" away from him, with the deranged obsession

Speaking with reporters from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel last month, Democratic Rep. Gwen Moore (D-Wis.) said she was “so relieved when [Obama] won,” and would give Obama an ‘A’ in his second term if he would “just occupy the spot.” When asked by a reporter to give a progress report on Obama’s second term and to grade him, Moore declined to at first saying, “I´m not going to give Obama a grade. I’m glad he’s there. A Grade compared to what? Compared to Mitt Romney being there?” She then compared Obama’s second term to what would have happened if Romney had won. “No,

Jimmy Fallon will get a visit from an old pal during his first week overseeing The Tonight Show. First Lady Michelle Obama, who famously cut a rug with Fallon in drag for a comedy sketch, will be among the show´s guests during the first week of Fallon´s time as host. The two clicked last year for the viral video The Evolution of Mom Dancing. More importantly, Fallon has done some heavy lifting on behalf of her husband. Fallon´s old Late Night perch invited the president on to "slow jam" the news, essentially letting Barack Obama push his agenda via the comedy format during

The Seattle Children’s Hospital is suing Washington state’s insurance commissioner over a “failure to ensure adequate network coverage” in the insurance exchanges established as part of the Affordable Care Act. “We’re seeing denials in care, disruptions in care. We’re seeing a great deal of confusion and, at times, anger and frustration on the part of these families who bought insurance thinking that their children would be covered,” a doctor with the hospital said. “And, in fact, it’s a false promise.” A recent CBS News report detailed the experience of one mother whose child recently came down with an ear infection.

On May 12, 1992, Stan Greenberg and Celinda Lake, top pollsters for Bill Clinton’s presidential campaign, issued a confidential memo. The memo’s subject was “Research on Hillary Clinton.” Voters admired the strength of the Arkansas first couple, the pollsters wrote. However, “they also fear that only someone too politically ambitious, too strong, and too ruthless could survive such controversy so well.” Their conclusion: “What voters find slick in Bill Clinton, they find ruthless in Hillary.” The full memo is one of many previously unpublished documents contained in the archive of one of Hillary Clinton’s best friends and advisers, documents that

SAN ANTONIO — We recommend incumbent John Cornyn for the GOP´s U.S. Senate nomination, based on unmatched experience and decades of service to Texas. The theme among a bevy of challengers seems to be that Cornyn is a CINO, a conservative in name only. This is not just counter-intuitive but counter-factual. Various ratings — liberal and conservative — have agreed on one thing, Cornyn´s conservative credentials are genuine. Not conservative? Cornyn is No. 2 in Senate leadership and diverged only slightly from the conservative playbook in a year in which he offered a measure that would further beef up security at the

There were two turkeys, an abundance of side dishes, and in the middle, a carved angel. In came Woody Allen with a holiday greeting. “Pardon me while I puke,” he said, then went off to the kitchen to juice apples. Long before the scandals — Woody taking off with Mia’s adopted teen daughter Soon-Yi, Mia accusing Woody of molesting their 7-year-old daughter, Dylan — the Allen-Farrow family was regarded as the ultimate cosmopolitan clan, a multiracial brood of 11 children,

The militants belonged to a group known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, or ISIS, which is fighting the Shiite-dominated army of the Iraqi government, mostly in Anbar Province. But they are also linked to bomb attacks elsewhere and other fighting that has thrown Iraq deeper into sectarian violence.

He and his fellow Democrats are on the verge of doing just that by turning us into a nation of loafers. A loafer is an idle person who lives off others. Barack Obama seemingly has no problem with such people. He might even relate to them. He does have a serious problem with his own work ethic, and finds work boring.
