Why are the feds loading up
on so much ammo?

Investor´s Business Daily, by Andrew Malcolm

Original Article

In a puzzling, unexplained development, the Obama administration has been buying and storing vast amounts of ammunition in recent months, with the Department of Homeland Security just placing another order for an additional 21.6 million rounds. Several other federal agencies also began buying large quantities of bullets last year. The Social Security Administration, for instance, not normally considered on the frontlines of anything but dealing with seniors, said its purchases of millions of rounds were for special agents´ quarterly weapons qualifications.[Snip] But DHS has been silent about its need for numerous orders of bullets in the multiple millions.

Ammunition manufacturers are on the front lines in defending our Second Ammendment right. They should refuse to fill these orders- even as an act of civil disobedience, if needs be.

FTA: "That´s sufficient firepower to shoot every American about five times. Including illegal immigrants."

In China they would only order one bullet per citizen. Maybe they still see us as moving targets.

When this first came up last year, it really was a big nothing burger. By law, fed agencies must practice with the rounds they use, expensive hollowpoints, rather than cheaper ball ammo. When divided among the many agencies, the quantities weren´t really unusual. Now, however, this is getting troubling. They no longer need these quantities. They already did that last year. Ammo is very scarce right now. Could be some kind of plot, but to what end?

I´m still reeling from Barky´s lecture at the prayer breakfast.

He appears to actually believe that the only imperfection in his world is an obstinate Republican Party in the House.

The most heinous crimes are committed by those who see themselves as victims.

(LA´s cop murderer eg.)

And Barky exhibits delusional paranoia in spades.

(Is it OK to say spades?)

I find this quite frightening. Yes, why would the social security administration need the big purchase of hollow point ammo they bought. This is about the third round of ammo purchase for homeland security. 0bama should explain this need to purchase so many bullets. Right now, 0bama has stock piled enough ammo to kill every man, woman, and child, four times.

Re: "According to one estimate, just since last spring DHS has stockpiled more than 1.6 billion bullets, mainly .40 caliber and 9mm. That´s sufficient firepower to shoot every American about five times. Including illegal immigrants. To provide some perspective, experts estimate that at the peak of the Iraq war American troops were firing around 5.5 million rounds per month. At that rate, DHS is armed now for a 24-year Iraq war."

There may be well-connected Obama donors who manufacture ammo and/or hold copper/brass contracts. Think Solyndra and the $500 million to Obama donors. Or, is Obama conducting another Fast & Furious operation with drug gangs. Or, Obama is draining away bullets from private buyers. Or, like the first Mayor Daley of Chicago who secretly owned an office supply company in Indiana that had a monopoly on the City´s supplies, Obama owns an ammunition maker.

I do not believe the US military uses many .40 caliber or 9mm bullets, so this is eventual waste.

The big question mark for me is that this is handgun ammo, and not even magnum velocity. It is only good at fairly close range, and hollow points do not penetrate well. A rifleman would have little trouble neutralizing such a threat with little risk.

The feds are gearing up for when the American public finally wakes up and figures out how badly we´ve been screwed by our elected criminals on both sides of the aisle. We have the most radical President in our history and we Americans are probably more divided than at any time since the Civil War. Obama would love to exploit this tragic mess that has become the USA of today. The gun grab that the Communists are trying to pull off just could be the spark that sets off the powder keg.

Read ths article yesterday and fired off a letter to Boehner asking exactly why they are purchasing so many rounds of ammo including hollow points. Demanded to know why NOBODY is doing anything about the tyranny that is being hoisted upon us by this group of communists. Let him know that we are fed up being treated like criminals when illegals and terrorists enjoy being treated like full fledged American ctizens. Ended by telling him I hope I didn´t end up on Odumbo´s kill list after sending him my thoughts. We were told to expect a parallel federal civilian police entity funded as well as the military, could be a sign of a campaign promise kept. Next time we are asked to respond to the question regarding why we need semi-auto large capacity magazine arms, here you go.

#13 asks a good question, who are the suppliers?

At the gun show here in Chantilly, VA last month, George Arms was missing. Their inventory has been completely depleted. Their website is still saying they are running two-four weeks behind on shipping. I´d like to know if their (and other´s) supplier is the same one as the Federal Government. There´s another gun show coming up this weekend. I wonder if Georgia Arms will be there, but I doubt it. It´s the probably the largest vendor of ammunition at the gun show.

The big question is whether the ammo is hollow or slugs. Civilians are not allowed to have hollow.

Clinton also alluded to a need for a civilian federal police force.

If you are in Washington looking at another million man march (all armed), you want lots of ammo.

#9 brings up a good point ... who is Obama going to arm and then send out to sanction conservatives? Several theories abound from an all Black ´Brown Shirt´ organization (Black Panthers? SLA?) to special forces recruited from the military.

Race-based organizations don´t have the numbers to exterminate a large number of people. If Obama gave every black adult from DC to Pennsylvania a weapon and a hundred rounds and assuming a 3-1 attrition rate, they would be out of shooters by the Allegheny Mts.

Drones are another matter ...

Government is driving up prices by causing a shortage.
You cannot afford the ammo or at the least, you will not be able to buy as much. They are just trying to make it unavailable to Bubba.
Congress has the purse strings, they could stop it if they felt enough heat.
Think about.

The law of supply and demand at work. By artificially creating a shortage, the price goes up. This is a TAX IN DISGUISE.

The manufacturers are also aware of the second level effects. Normally, higher prices signal a need for more manufacturing capacity.

However, adding capacity raised costs in the short run [higher costs = higher prices AGAIN].

Worse, the manufacturers know that this is an ARTIFICIAL shortage. If they add capacity to meet the current demand [both real and artificial], with the added costs, they would have too MUCH capacity if the government sold their surplus. They would get whipsawed in the other direction.

Thus, the manufactures are reluctant to add capacity to take care of the real demand. The only people to get hurt in the meantime is the people.

Why isn´t Congress alerted that HHS is going to over throw the Government. Our representatives need to be alert and protect us from the rogue government agencies.

Todd Schnitt (out of Tampa) asked people to call in yesterday telling if they were able to buy ammunition where they were. All callers said there was little or none available. One caller from NC said he went to a gun show, got there 3 hours early to get a good place in line and when he got there, hundreds of people were already lined up. When he got inside and went to a specific vendor, nothing to buy.

I agree with many of the above comments. I also think there is an agenda of the government to hoard bullets by the millions creating a shortage of ammunition for common pistol rounds making ammunition more expensive for citizens to purchase.

Hence you have a government stockpiling ammunition intentionally creating a supply and demand shortage, ammunition prices goes up and are way, WAY overly inflated creating intentional limitations what citizens can purchase because of price and/or availability.

Don´t overlook the fact that DHS is also purchasing another 7,000 fully automatic assault rifles? (just Google it)

And don´t forget about Obama´s stated intent to build a "civilian national security force that´s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded" as the standing military.

It is clear that these weapons and the 1.6 billion rounds of ammo aren´t intended for use by the military in foreign wars. They are to arm the "civilian national security force" for use against Bitter-Clingers.

Or maybe Obama expects a cross-border invasion by the Canadian French.

Very simple explanation. They are making the most popular rounds scarce so that everyone will have to go out and buy more. Once the gun shops start taking down the names of those purchasing the rounds, they will not only have the names of all gun owners, they will know what types of weapons they have because of the caliber. Very sneaky!

To the surprise of absolutely no one outside the Obama Oval Office, those Crimeans who voted in Sunday´s trumped-up referendum opted overwhelmingly to rejoin Russia. This as thousands of Russian troops occupied the Ukrainian province, while an even larger Russian army happened to conduct ´war games´ on Ukraine´s border. Obama, the former community organizer, again telephoned President Vladimir Putin, the former KGB colonel. Obama reminded the Russian he´d broken international law. Hi, everybody. In this year of action, I’m doing everything I can, with or without Congress, to expand opportunity for more Americans. This week, I ordered a review of our nation’s overtime rules, to give more Americans the chance to earn the overtime pay they’ve worked for. While those at the top are doing better than ever, average wages have barely budged. Too many Americans are working harder than ever just to keep up.

Turns out, what´s settled on global warming

As part of his desperate political plot to distract the country with something -- anything -- other than ObamaCare´s debacle and serial scandals, Barack Obama has been talking a lot about global warming. Forget about the Nov. 4 midterms, folks. The world is burning up. A crisis not to be wasted. Obama calls it climate change before his audiences because after this endless winter of polar vortexes and record snowfalls and ice cover, the word ´warming´ draws applause or chuckles. [Snip] Now comes Gallup with a poll showing a third of Americans thinks global warming is a threat.

SethMeyers: President Obama appeared on an online comedy show the other day. The president was there to talk about his own online comedy show, ObamaCare. SethMeyers: Sunday´s Crimean vote to join Russia has no option for “No.” Only two boxes on the ballot -- one for “yes,” and one for “murder my family.” Conan: Obama is threatening Putin now. The U.S. president says if Russia doesn’t pull out of Crimea, he won’t lend Putin any of the money that we’ve borrowed from China.

President Obama did it again Tuesday night. He was trying to dodge blame once more for the ineffectiveness of his leadership and administration realistically addressing the country´s genuine challenges at home and abroad. Obama told the crowd: "What´s holding us back is politics. What´s holding us back is an atmosphere in Washington that puts a premium on saying no; puts a premium on an eye towards the next election instead of delivering on behalf of the American people." [Snip] Here´s the catch: While Obama was blaming politicians for keeping their eye on the next election instead of their current jobs,

Sen. Rob Portman gives the Republican Party's Weekly Remarks Hi, I’m U.S. Senator Rob Portman from Ohio, and I want to talk to you today about how to get America moving again. It’s been five years since the experts said the recession was over, but for millions of Americans, it feels like it never ended. We’re living through the weakest economic recovery since World War II, and a lot of folks are struggling to make ends meet. Unemployment remains stubbornly high; the number of long-term unemployed is actually at record levels. But these statistics only tell half the story. Eleven million Americans have become so discouraged that they’ve given up looking for work altogether.

Obama says, ´It´s time

Hi, everybody. This week, I traveled to New England, where I was joined by four governors who are working to raise the minimum wage in each of their states. And they’ve also joined me in calling on Congress to raise the minimum wage from $7.25 to $10.10 an hour. Because it would give nearly 800,000 Americans in their states a raise — and lift wages for about 28 million across the country. So these governors aren’t waiting for Congress to make up its mind. And in my State of the Union Address, I asked America’s business leaders to go ahead and do what they could to raise their employees’ wages, too.

Imagine if a former Republican presidential candidate and U.S. senator had called a current Republican president a delusional liar whose programs are wasteful. Would the mainstream media not be all over the story? Such a person would be interviewed at length by Wolf Blitzer on CNN as well as made the rounds of the morning talk shows and the Sunday news programs as well. The media buzz would be red hot on this topic for days extending into weeks. Well, there is such a person but because he is a Democrat saying these things about President Obama, we can expect

A startling rift appeared Tuesday on the Supreme Court as the three female Justices came out swinging like Brunnhildes — women warriors — for what they erroneously labeled an “entitlement” to employer-provided contraceptives and morning-after pills. The Justices were hearing oral arguments in Sebelius v. Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc., a case hyped by the Democratic Party as a test for women’s rights. Justices Kagan, Ginsberg, and Sotomayor sprang on Hobby Lobby’s attorney , interrupting his every sentence and pummeling him with questions taken right out of the Democratic Party’s “war on women” playbook. That playbook was laid out in a

Las Vegas - Many of the Republican Party’s most powerful insiders and financiers have begun a behind-the-scenes campaign to draft former Florida governor Jeb Bush into the 2016 presidential race, courting him and his intimates and starting talks on fundraising strategy. Concerned that the George Washington Bridge traffic scandal has damaged New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s political standing and alarmed by the steady rise of Sen. Rand Paul (Ky.), prominent donors, conservative leaders and longtime operatives say they consider Bush the GOP’s brightest hope to win back the White House.

The past couple of weeks have marked a turning point in American ugliness as the mob has turned its full fury on first lady Michelle Obama. From criticism of her trip to China to a recent “tell-all” by former White House assistant press secretary Reid Cherlin in the New Republic about Obama’s allegedly tyrannical behavior, the gloves have been removed. As described, she was a perfectionist — super-attentive to detail and laser-focused on advance planning. And this is bad because? Worse, according to a former (anonymous) staffer, there was no barometer for meeting Obama’s high standards. “The first lady having

A University of Virginia student arrested by Alcoholic Beverage Control agents who wrongly believed she´d illegally bought beer when in fact she only had bottled water is seeking $40 million in a lawsuit filed Tuesday. Obamacare supporters are taking a bit of a victory lap today after yesterday’s administration announcement that six million people have signed up for private plans under the law, equaling the revised projection put out by the Congressional Budget Office after the botched launch of the exchanges last October. It’s a weak cause for celebration, given that success, according to Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, was originally "at least" seven million people getting covered under the law by the end of March. And as an Obamacare factoid, the six million sign-ups figure just doesn’t tell us all that much

A "vast majority" of Mitt Romney donors, establishment pooh-bahs, and an anti-conservative consultant who is the epitome of permanent political class want former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush to run for president in 2016. Bush was in Las Vegas this week meeting with Sheldon Adelson, and, according to the Post, "many if not most of 2012 GOP nominee Mitt Romney’s major donors are reaching out to Bush and his confidants with phone calls, e-mails and invitations to meet." One bundler even said that a "vast majority” of "Romney’s top 100 donors would back Bush." The Post also noted that in the meantime "Bush’s

If Betsey McCaughey is correct (and I bet she is, because she has not only read the entire ObamaCare bill, she has written a book about it), Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan publicly humiliated herself during the oral arguments on the Hobby Lobby case, revealing that she either did not read the law, or failed to comprehend it if she did so. Writing in the New York Sun, McCaughey lays out what is wrong with the Justice’s declaration about Obamacare: she asserted that the statute itself mandates provision of birth control. Not one word in the Affordable Care Act guarantees health plans will cover birth control products.

Former U.S. Senator Bob Kerrey thinks President Barack Obama, a fellow Democrat, was re-elected in 2012 because he ´sucked less´ than former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney. The Nebraskan straight-talker told MailOnline in an exclusive interview that Obama isn´t up to the job of bringing liberals and conservatives to the table to rescue America´s slowly choking entitlement programs. And Obama, he said Wednesday in his Manhattan office, knew full well he was lying when he promised that the Affordable Care Act would allow Americans to keep insurance plans they liked. ´He had to know he was misleading the audience,´ Kerrey said

YOKOHAMA, Japan — Climate change is already having sweeping effects on every continent and throughout the world’s oceans, scientists reported Monday, and they warned that the problem is likely to grow substantially worse unless greenhouse emissions are brought under control. The report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, a United Nations group that periodically summarizes climate science, concluded that ice caps are melting, sea ice in the Arctic is collapsing, water supplies are coming under stress, heat waves and heavy rains are intensifying, coral reefs are dying, and fish and many other creatures are migrating toward the poles or

With studies showing widening economic gaps between whites and African Americans, civil rights leaders in metro Detroit are concerned. “We’re going in the wrong direction,” said Freda Sampson, a leader with the nonprofit group Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion. “We’re getting further and further divided.” To help close that racial and class divide, her group is holding an all-day conference, called the Equity Action Summit, on Saturday at Cobo Center in Detroit.
