Police in Southern California are hunting for a disgruntled ex-cop wanted in a double slaying and is suspected of shooting three police officers early Thursday, killing one of them. The Riverside Police Department said one of its officers was pronounced dead at the hospital, according to NBC 4 Los Angeles. A second officer was undergoing surgery. The third officer is with the Los Angeles Police Department and was shot in Corona, 50 miles east of Los Angeles. A bullet grazed his head and he was expected to recover, ABC affiliate KABC-TV reported. The LAPD says the suspect is former…

Comments:
This guy has declared war on the LAPD. He´s highly intelligent, a military veteran, and doesn´t have a problem hunting down the children of those he believes did him harm.

This better end soon, before there´s an even more horrendous body count.

Also, keep this story in mind when someone says "Only the cops should have guns..."

So, the next logical step is to outlaw disgruntled guns ?

Another news grabbing gun incident whipping up reactionary feelings - tread carefully, do not riot, do not play into the governments hands - the right to bear arms is under threat from many quarters.

An embarrassment for anti-gun nuts who think only trained police officers should carry guns. In such a scenario, how would unarmed civilians be protected from a cop-gone-crazy? The obvious solution is armed citizens.

#3, we outnumber and out-gun the socialists in government. And they can only disarm us if we´re stupid enough to allow it. They know they are out-numbered and out-gunned. Why do you think they spend so much propaganda time trying to convince everyone that socialism is the wave of the future, where it´s at, cool, and if you disagree you´re just a disgruntled crank, bigot, hater minority of one? Because they are scared enough citizens will wake up and realize what the socialists want to do here.

Update from the Daily Mail:

Two innocents who had the bad luck of driving a similar vehicle as Dorner were shot by the LAPD this morning.

Remember, only the cops cam be trusted with guns.

Also note the pics accompanying the Daily Mail story. Looks like the PD are using AR-15 with 30-rd magazines. Droner is a lone wolf. Why would a 30-rd magazine be necessary? As all the politicians know, no one needs these "weapons of war" and no one needs more than 10-rounds to defend themselves.

They believe he is currently holed up in a hotel/apartment complex run by the DoD on the North Island naval base off Harbor Drive in San Diego.

A member of the Naval Reserve, he would have been able to get accommodations there. Or he may have forced his way in.

Channel 5 - KTLA in Los Angeles is covering it live.

Although rare, an out-of-control cop with a gun & a grudge is not new. Back in the fifties, when my dad was a young man, he had the misfortune of being at a party when a drunk, off-duty cop burst in looking for his wife. He shot at everybody in the room, but my dad - who didn´t know him from Adam, got the worst of it. He was paralyzed from the waist down. He came very close to dying but with intense therapy for almost a year, was able to walk again & for many years walked with a pronounced limp. Now that he is elderly, he has unending orthopedic problems stemming from that long-ago incident & his weakened leg. He is now back in a wheelchair. None of these new, proposed gun laws can save you from rogue cops. I ought to know because I am Dad´s caregiver.

Riverside PD isn´t even releasing the names of the murdered and injured officers for fear this nut will target their families. I´ve read his doc with redacted names for clues of the 40 targets on his list, and spoken to family in LA cuz my daughter is a LAPD officer who´s served in both the South and Harbor Divisions...very sad and scary circumstances...staying glued to all LA TV via the net...

Sheriffs: Cuomo Asked for Silence

The sheriffs thought they were being summoned to the Capitol to discuss ideas for changes to New York´s gun control law, the SAFE Act. Instead, Gov. Andrew Cuomo told them to keep quiet. Opposition to the new law has simmered in upstate areas since Cuomo signed the law in January. Many county sheriffs oppose it, particularly its expanded definition of banned assault weapons, and have spoken out around the state. In January, the New York State Sheriffs´ Association wrote Cuomo with an analysis, and later suggested tweaks.

AMHERST, N.Y. - State Police forced an Amherst man to turn in his guns after suspending his pistol permit over anti-anxiety medication. But now they say it was all a misunderstanding. Erie County Clerk Chris Jacobs said, "Today, we all look like fools." "David," a 34-year-old college librarian, recently had his pistol permit taken away. Erie County´s Licensing Officer, Supreme Court Justice William Boller, was following a recommendation from State Police that David´s permit be revoked because he used anti-anxiety medication in the past.

An orderly protest over the death of an armed 16-year-old turned into a riot in Brooklyn tonight after young people started lashing out at NYPD officers. Between 60 and 100 rioters gathered around Church and Snyder Ave. in East Flatbush and threw bottles and other debris at police, witnesses said, following a vigil for Kimani Gray, 16, who was shot dead by two plainclothes officers over the weekend. One person has been arrested, though no injuries have been reported. They were lashing out at the NYPD, who they believe are responsible for the teen’s death.

ROCHESTER — Starting April 15, New York will have the smallest gun magazine limit in the country, and all signs indicate no gun makers have plans to accommodate it. Gun manufacturers have never had a reason to make a magazine with fewer than 10 rounds, because no state required it until now. And, as far as local gun dealers and the Democrat and Chronicle have been able to determine, there are no manufacturers planning to make seven-round magazines. This means that in less than two months, gun dealers such as Paul Martin, owner of Pro-Gun Services in Victor…

CHICAGO — A federal appeals court won´t reconsider an earlier ruling that Illinois´ concealed carry ban is unconstitutional. A three-judge panel of the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals struck down Illinois´ ban in December and gave lawmakers until June 8 to legalize the concealed carry of firearms. Attorney General Lisa Madigan asked for all 10 judges to review the decision, saying it conflicted with decisions by other federal appellate courts and goes beyond what the U.S. Supreme Court has held. Illinois is the only state in the nation that still has a ban in place.

A rapid shift to wind and solar power is needed if the world is to avoid catastrophic global warming, the United Nations warns in a crucial report today. Emissions of greenhouse gases need to be cut by up to 70 per cent before 2050 to control climate change, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) says. ‘Large-scale changes in energy systems’ are required, with coal power stations to be switched off and replaced by wind and solar. Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)
