Ed Gillespie seeks ´diverse´
Republican candidates in
the fight for 2014

Washington Times, by Jennifer Harper

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 2/6/2013 9:29:55 PM

The GOP´s "big tent" thinking is alive and well. On Wednesday, the Republican State Leadership Committee launched the Future Majority Caucus to support women, blacks or Americans of Hispanic and Asian descent running for office on the state level. The mission statement: The new caucus will expand the scope of recruitment and support for candidates "to more closely reflect the diversity of our nation." Running it all: that would be Ed Gillespie, who has returned to chair the committee itself after a year as senior advisor with Mitt Romney´s presidential campaign. He has a full plate.

Comments:
Gillespie was chairman of Romney´s presidential campaign. We know how well that worked out. We need some fresh blood in the party. Men similar to Ted Cruz. How about Mark Levin. He would sure shake things up.

Umm, Ed, you lost. Uh, you didn´t just lose, you lost a race that could not be lost. You lost a race against the worst president ever, who had the worst economy ever, and more scandals than Slick Willie had ... well you know what I mean. You lost when the country needed to win. You lost Ed. Where are you going to lead us? You couldn´t beat an egg, Ed. Go away.

We had a bunch of great minority candidates and office holders who spoke at the convention and the mainstream media saw to it that anyone not listening to CSpan (the only exception) did not hear one word from them on television. They switched away from the speakers to their various talking heads.

Things are never as simple or as black and white and most of you seem to think. Is Gillespie personally and solely at fault because we didn´t get enough votes to elect Romney? Should all people who fail to accomplish what we want be drummed out of the Party?

a big tent that is empty won´t help the repubs in 2014. They aren´t going to "diverse" their way into replacing the votes they are losing with their rush to the left with illegal immigration, tax increases, lack of spending cuts, and just generally allowing Zippy and the Dems to run the table on them over and over.

if the Repubs think everyone they have been disintermediating will be back come election, they are smoking crack. There is virtually nothing my RINO congressman can do to ever get my vote again.

Having a diverse set of candidates won´t matter if the Repubs don´t stop being the slightly less toxic version of the Dems.

In the weeks since the so-called “Hillary Papers” hit media outlets, many on the left have been complaining that discussion of Bill Clinton’s affairs is sexist. Those recently published papers included documents and personal diaries from Hillary Clinton’s late-friend Diane Blair. Tonight on The Kelly File, Megyn Kelly spoke to a former President Clinton aide who claims he sexually harassed her. Her name came up in the Hillary Papers, when a then-little known journalist, Matt Drudge, wrote a report about Kathleen Willey. Willey believes President Clinton’s misconduct is relevant to Hillary’s potential presidential run. “Hillary Clinton is the war on women, and I

The Providence College Black Studies Program e-mailed students, faculty, and administrators Tuesday to renew an award called the Trayvon Martin Award for Social Justice. The award honors those who have shown leadership and commitment to ”challenging and eliminating racism” and “empowering others to seek social justice,” said the e-mail obtained by The Daily Caller. The award was created in 2012 to honor the 17-year-old African American who was shot by George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch volunteer, in Florida. Though Zimmerman was widely accused of racial profiling, the jury ultimately found him not guilty of murder.

The Clarion Project has unearthed Federal Bureau of Investigations documents detailing a 22-site network of terrorist training villages sprawled across the United States. According to the documents, the FBI has been concerned about these facilities for about 12 years, but cannot act against them because the U.S. State Department has not yet declared that their umbrella group, MOA/Jamaat ul-Fuqra, as a Foreign Terrorist Organization. MOA stands for Muslims of the Americas, which is linked to radical Pakistani Muslim cleric Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani. What else can they say, really? The Democrats have built their entire midterm strategy on an economic populism focused around the minimum wage as a way to both cudgel Republicans and distract from ObamaCare’s woes — it’s much too late to turn back now, not even for a super official, nonpartisan report confirming many of the plan’s negative effects on the job market and those in poverty to which Republicans have been pointing. There´s a debate going on about Hillary Clinton´s past. If she runs for president in 2016, should Republicans reach back to the scandals of her years as First Lady? Or should they focus on more recent times, especially her tenure as Secretary of State, to build a case against her? The GOP doesn´t have to choose. Of course Clinton´s recent experiences are relevant to a presidential run. But so are her actions in the 90s, the 80s and even the 70s. It´s not ancient history; it reveals something about who Clinton was and still is. And re-examining her past is entirely consistent with practices in recent campaigns. In the 2012 presidential race,

The weirdest thing about John Kerry´s weekend speech on climate-change—other than the fact that this is the same guy who in 1997 voted to forbid the U.S. from signing the Kyoto Protocol—is that it begins by quoting something Maurice Strong said at the U.N.´s 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro: "Every bit of evidence I´ve seen persuades me that we are on a course leading to tragedy."
