After Floating Idea of Lifting Ban
on Gays, Scouts Delay Decision

New York Times, by Kirk Johnson

The Boy Scouts of America, which confirmed last summer its policy barring openly gay people from participation, then said last week that it was reconsidering the ban, announced Wednesday that it would postpone a decision once more, until May, as talk of gay men and lesbians in the ranks has roiled a storied organization that carries deep emotional connection and nostalgia for millions of Americans. An end to the national ban, which the United States Supreme Court said in 2000 was legal free speech by a private organization, would create a new moment of risk, experimentation and change,

Would you send your 14 or 15 year-old daughter to a camp full of heterosexual men? I wouldn´t. So why would you send your son to a camp with admitted homosexual men?

When the Boy Scouts organization lifts the ban, it commits suicide.

This is a serious, serious situation. We´re doing nobody any favors with dumb jokes and jerkwater comments; this is a big deal in America and we need to proceed with care and caution.

I bombed out as a Boy Scout; I and a cohort were caught stealing food during a campout at Joshua Tree and neither one of us ever made it beyond tenderfoot. But the Boy Scouts are a big deal -- an important big deal -- in the USA, and it´s crucial that this thing is handled properly and wisely.

My beautiful daughter was in the Girl Scouts all the way through her senior year in high school.

I hope cool heads and right thinking saves the day here. Every young boy should have a chance to be a Scout -- even a food-stealing dope like me.

No homosexuals in the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. Seems pretty simple unless you want to be sued like the Catholic Church was.

They mention the number of boys joining Scouts has declined. Do they really think there are hundreds and thousand of gay boys wanting to join.

99.99% of boys will not want anything to do with the "Gay" Souts if they lift the ban.

As a group you will find none as selfish and self-important as Gays. In the drive to take on the trappings of "normal" they will destroy all that is good, and never see the irony of their actions.

The national leadership is looking weak, losing the PR war badly. Some lesbian lady in Ohio who was told she couldn´t be a leader was all over the news tonite, boo-hooing to CBS. I guess somebody is bankrolling her new career as a gay activist as she and her uniform-clad cohorts were at Scout headquarters in Irving. They supposedly had big boxes of signed petitions to present. BSA setting a terrible sample for the boys by hiding. No spokespeople out there. Where is the PR strategy for us?

Answer to Poster #4, because there is a concerted effort by the communists/anarchists who hate America to destroy our culture. In doing so people loose their moral and emotional moorings. Once those are broken, then society can be manipulated by the Marxists. This has been going on since the early 1960s. Go to this site: http://www.free2pray.info/communism.html

New York - The first legal challenge to the New York police department’s blanket surveillance of Muslims in the wake of the 9/11 terrorist attacks has been dismissed by a federal judge in New Jersey in a ruling that lawyers acting for the plaintiffs have described as preposterous and dangerous. Judge William Martini, sitting in the US district court for the district of New Jersey, threw out a lawsuit brought by eight Muslim individuals and local businesses who alleged their constitutional rights were violated when the NYPD’s mass surveillance was based on religious affiliation alone. Why Hillary Clinton´s past is

There´s a debate going on about Hillary Clinton´s past. If she runs for president in 2016, should Republicans reach back to the scandals of her years as First Lady? Or should they focus on more recent times, especially her tenure as Secretary of State, to build a case against her? The GOP doesn´t have to choose. Of course Clinton´s recent experiences are relevant to a presidential run. But so are her actions in the 90s, the 80s and even the 70s. It´s not ancient history; it reveals something about who Clinton was and still is. And re-examining her past is entirely consistent with practices in recent campaigns. In the 2012 presidential race,

As if that weren´t creepy enough, Cap One says these visits can be "at your home and at your place of employment." The police need a court order to pull off something like that. Beijing - Torture, deliberate starvation and other abuses carried out by North Korean authorities — possibly on the orders of leader Kim Jong Un — are crimes against humanity and should be referred to an international court or tribunal for prosecution, United Nations investigators said Monday. A 400-page report catalogs practices long cited by defectors and human rights activists, but their inclusion in a comprehensive document compiled by a U.N.-appointed panel appears to be unprecedented. It was accompanied by a three-page letter to Kim warning that under international law he could be held responsible for atrocities committed by underlings.

Washington - The Monica Lewinsky scandal has returned to US politics, after a fashion - Sen. Rand Paul (R) of Kentucky raised it late last month on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” saying President Bill Clinton engaged in “predatory behavior” in his affair with the young intern in 1995 and 1996. Since then the Clinton/Lewinsky subject has arisen on many political chat shows as hosts ask guests to discuss its possible significance to a Hillary Clinton presidential candidacy. David Gregory asked Mitt Romney the Lewinsky question on “Meet the Press” on Sunday, for instance. The 2012 GOP nominee started off by

Of all the time-honored failings for which we criticize sitting presidents — by "we" I mean pundits, academics and other members of the chattering phylum — two charges stand out: imperialism and shrinkage. Usually it´s one or the other. When the president is unpopular or when he´s lost control of his agenda or when he just seems inadequate to the demands of the job, the headline "The Incredible Shrinking Presidency" proliferates like kudzu. When the Republicans lost control of Congress in 2006, the Economist proclaimed "The Incredible Shrinking Presidency" of George W. Bush on its cover. Barack Obama has been

Donald Trump couldn’t pass up the opportunity to say, “You’re fired” to an underling — even when the man offered to resign. Furious over a snarky Buzzfeed article about his political aspirations, the developer took a page out of his TV show, “The Apprentice,’’ and booted the adviser who had urged him to do the interview. “I told [Trump] when he fired me, ‘Sir, I’m willing to offer you my resignation.’ He didn’t accept that,’’ 32-year-old political consultant Sam Nunberg told The Post. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, may be the brightest light to adorn the Republican Party in many years. He knows how to make the case for conservative ideas, pointing, for example, to the contrasting fates of Detroit and Houston to illustrate the superiority of conservative policies. So it´s particularly galling to see that rather than train his fire at President Barack Obama and the liberal machine that cocoons him, Cruz has become a one-man wrecking ball against Republicans.
