Fox Host And Dem Rep. In Tense
Battle Over ‘Fairness’ Of
Taxing The Rich

Mediaite, by Andrew Kirell

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 2/6/2013 11:59:07 AM

On today’s Your World, fill-in host Stuart Varney got into a heated battle with Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) over the issue of “fairness” in increasing taxes on the wealthy. Ellison’s revenue plan includes closing tax loopholes that mainly affect wealthier Americans — estate tax deductions, stock option loopholes, etc. — which prompted Varney to bluntly ask whether this plan was purely aimed at squeezing more money out of the rich. “We go a little further than that and we say we’re going to close loopholes for fossil fuel companies likes Exxon Mobil and Chevron.

Comments:
One thing you can say about these filthy Democrats, they have their talking points down and absolutely nothing will make them stop spewing their lies. They always revert back to the tired canard that if the rich don´t pay more the children will starve.

Does the Muzzie really think oil companies are owned by the rich? Someone should clue him that they are mostly owned by Union retirement funds and the 99%er shareholders.
Liberals are so stupid.

Taxes should be EQUAL on everyone.

Anything other than that is pure theft!

It´s not increasing taxes on the wealthy. The wealthy already have their wealth and they protect it from taxes.

They are increasing taxes on people who are trying to earn and save money to become wealthy.

They are increasing taxes on the low to middle income earner who has a one time wind fall when his company tells him he is no longer going to have his job and here is a buy out package. But even though he faces long term unemployment hereafter - this one time buyout package is looked at as if he is wealthy and will make that much every year so it is taxed to the hilt. Bring back 5 year income averaging.

So Varney points out Mickelson´s 63% tax bite bedween CA and Federal, and asks whether it is fair. After hemming and hawing Ellison says uses and uses the Marxists´ favorite tactic--a false choice strawman.
He says if it is a choice between Mickelson paying high taxes and some elderly person not being able to heat their home, or some poor people going hungry, then it is fair to tax Mickelson 63%.
How is there a direct linkage here? Are there no boondoggle government expenditures that can be cut to be sure Granny doesn´t freeze or poor people eat? And how much of every tax dollar is sucked up by our massive bloated government before it even gets to Granny? And how many Grannies are fraudulently getting benefits?

He appeared on local Nevada program What’s Your Point? with Dean Heller, Nevada’s other senator, and stood by his remarks, calling Bundy’s supporters “domestic violent terrorist wannabes.” Reid said that Bundy “doesn’t believe that the American government is valid” and doesn’t follow the law, bringing up how hundreds of people showed up armed to defend Bundy to argue that they’re basically engaging in an act of domestic terrorism. “600 people came. Every year the White House hosts an Easter egg roll, and the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals are trying to get the White House to use plastic eggs instead of real, hard-boiled ones with a new campaign specifically targeting First Lady Michelle Obama. And a big part of the campaign is a video PETA put online featuring little girls telling Obama they’re not mad, just “disappointed.” The little girls try to convince her to break tradition, asking, “If all the other first ladies jumped off a bridge, would you?” and asking her to put herself in the shoes of the chickens that had to lay all those thousands and thousands of eggs.

One of the few laws of political science is that when governments make mistakes, they tend to be whoppers. Luckily for them, the public’s memory is short, and the outrage of today soon declines into the apathy of tomorrow. From several articles published in a recent edition of the British Medical Journal, it appears that many governments around the world, including those of Britain and the US, may have made such a mistake in stockpiling billions of dollars’ worth of anti-flu medications, bought principally from Roche, the largest pharmaceutical company in the world as measured by capitalization. First the governments overestimated the
