I´ve Been a Limousine
Liberal...Twice

American Thinker, by David Lawrence

Original Article

Posted By:magnante, 2/6/2013 11:04:49 AM

As an adolescent, I was a limousine liberal in my dad´s house in Great Neck. I felt compassion for all the needy of the world and admired the communists who were trying to spread the wealth in equal, fair shares to people of unequal talents, efforts, and ambitions. (snip) I´ve been a limousine liberal twice in my life: in the sixties in my dad´s Lincoln, in the eighties and nineties in my Rolls-Royce

Spreading the wealth among communists does not mean spreading the wealth among the people. It means among their corrupt leadership.

FTA- The liberals do -- yet most of them are ironically atheists and have not suffered crucifixion for the sins of mankind. They are believers in nothing. They are regulations minus the moral convictions. They are mouths of emptiness spitting out the saliva of platitudes.

It is worth reading the article just for that last paragraph.

I read the article and I think the guy has seen the light. You have to be humbled to realize the truth. I know nothing of his history.

We have what mom called ´Sunday go to meeting Christians´ or elitist who go through the motions of caring about the impoverished-unually in a foreign country. Look at me; take my picture. Not in my back yard people.

Sad to say we are now two classes of people: the have and have nots. Unfortunately, many have moved from one column to the other.

As a side note: In the last month I have read two prayer request asking for the rich to share their wealth (just because) with the poor. Zippy has a large audience of mesmerized lemmings.

After enduring gales of laughter in response to the Pajama Boy Gambit, the folks at Organizing for Action, aka my.barackobama.com, have turned to the stalest cliché possible in an effort to put lipstick on the healthcare.gov pig. This email came out on Valentine´s Day (hat tip: A.M. Mora y Leon): Remember giving out valentines in grade school? This is a holiday that gives us all an excuse to send cute messages to anyone we want. This year, there´s no better way to let friends know you care than by sharing an Adorable Care Act valentine. The United Auto Workers Union lost a hugely important unionization election vote at Volkswagen´s Chattanooga, Tennessee assembly plant, going down to defeat in a 712-626 vote (53%-47%), with roughly 165 workers, or 11%, not voting. Thus, in fact, only 41.65% of the total workforce voted in favor of unionization. This is a historic defeat for unionization of the private sector (snip)The American union movement is now even more solidly a government employee phenomenon, which makes it all the more vulnerable to public opinion which is shifting to a negative opinion towards it, as self-serving and greedy. I suppose we owe US Chamber of Commerce CEO Tom Donohue thanks for his candor on immigration. (snip) "Immigration can also address labor shortages in lesser-skilled fields where there are insufficient numbers of either qualified or willing U.S. workers to fill positions." Let´s unpack that statement. What kinds of qualifications are necessary for low- or unskilled positions? In fact, a willingness to work -- to show up on time, apply oneself with reasonable diligence and learn through experience -- is the sole qualification for such positions. Although Donohue does not say so, the sad fact is that many, many Americans who are

There is a stark question that remains largely unspoken, as Hillary Clinton dominates polling and super-PAC fundraising, as the all-but-decided Democrat candidate for the 2016 presidential race. What if she doesn´t run? (snip)Queue the laugh track as Joe Biden surges to front-runner status? The polite way of expressing the problem is that he is "gaffe-prone." Here is another "red line" for the president. After endless and lawless tweaking and rewriting the Affordable Care Act aka ObamaCare, there now can be a definitive declaration of a group being harmed. Employers with 50 to 99 employees have been given yet another one of these fiat waivers from Obama. And the employers with over 100 employees can now cry foul, and even a Democrat might see the inconsistencies and injustices of the recent waiver. Employers with over 100 employees -- say 110 -- are still bound to obey and incur fines, no taxes, (or is a penalty?). They are being placed

President Obama has broken many promises. One that he has not broken is his boast that he would "fundamentally transform America." He and his fellow Democrats are on the verge of doing just that by turning us into a nation of loafers. A loafer is an idle person who lives off others. Barack Obama seemingly has no problem with such people. He might even relate to them. He does have a serious problem with his own work ethic, and finds work boring. CHATTANOOGA, TENN. — The UAW suffered a devastating defeat at Volkswagen’s plant here as workers rejected union representation by a 712-626 margin. The defeat, which came despite Volkswagen’s neutrality, tarnishes UAW President Bob King’s legacy and could make it next to impossible for the union to extend its reach beyond domestic automakers.
“While we certainly would have liked a victory for workers here, we deeply respect the Volkswagen Global Group Works Council, Volkswagen management and (German union) IG Metall for doing their best to create a free and open atmosphere for workers to exercise their basic human right to form a union,” King said in a statement.

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius was in direct contact with President Barack Obama at least 18 times between October 2012 and October 2013, including seven occasions where her draft calendar showed Obamacare as the topic of conversation. The news appears to contradict her insistence that Obama was in the dark about problems plaguing the ill-fated healthcare.gov website in the months leading up to its October 1, 2013 launch. At least every week now, there is a new story supporting the narrative of an inevitable 2016 Hillary Clinton presidential bid. Indeed, the conventional wisdom is that it is an absolute certainty that she will run. If anyone is currently saying, flat out, that Hillary isn´t running, I haven´t come across them. The school of literary criticism known as reception theory holds that a text should be studied in light of its effect on its contemporaries, that a reader should be aware of the “horizon of expectations” in which a text is produced. I was reminded of this the other day as I observed, in amusement, fascination, and occasional pity, the reaction of the so-called mainstream media to Alana Goodman’s lengthy and rock-solid report on “The Hillary Papers.” This trove of previously unexamined transcriptions of conversations between Hillary Clinton and her best friend Diane Blair had been collecting dust at the University
