Top Ten Problems with that Skeet Shooting Picture

| It was a picture dredged up to prove the assertion the President had made in January to the breezy effect that the President is indeed acquainted with firearms, since, as he stated (roughly paraphrased), We´ve often shot skeet when we´re at Camp David. It took a few days, where conservative media baited the press secretary Jay Carney, for proof, any proof, and where the Democrats either pooh-poohed the need for proof, since the President rarely turns out to have accuracy as his first arrow out of the quiver

Item #9 suggests that it might not even be obama in the pic, instead it´s possibly a body-double. Really? You mean there could be someone out there who would KNOWINGLY wear momjeans to lay his life on the line for the One?

I don´t know. The picture is probably real. He is probably not shooting skeet but rather shooting clay pigeons from a portable trap. At least he shot the gun at least one time. Obviously he has no skill at shooting a shotgun. He is holding it like he never had one before.
Many of the many comments made about it just don´t hold water. And yes, I have shot both skeet and trap many times.

The shotgun in the picture is a Browning Citori, over and under twelve guage. I know because it is the same gun I use at the range for skeet and also in the field for bird hunting. I can tell you that the way he has shouldered the gun in the picture, if he fired it any more than about twenty times with it mounted that way, he would have a sore bruised shoulder, especially since he is not wearing a padded shooting vest and the stock has not been customized to fit him.

Agree with #7. Photog snapped that picture at the millisecond when the smoke appeared as the rifle was fired. Amazing timing or there are many more pictures that were not released because they included Obama being helped off the skeet range holding a painfully bruised shoulder and cheek. And Obama´s agonizing second act only has 47 more months to go. (groan)

One explanation for the delay between event and picture posting might be revealed in the poor quality audio from the wireless bug in the Valkyrie´s office.
It seems to indicate that they were waiting for a reply, which never came BTW, from Martha Stewart asking for her best recipe on the preparation of skeet. (JIC he actually got lucky and bagged one rather then having to purchase from the exotic game market) /ticsarc

If the picture was snapped at the moment of smoke ejecting from the barrel, his shoulder would already be in recoil from the blast. He is either the strongest man who ever lived, is capable of defying the laws of Physics, or the smoke was Photoshopped in after he was snapped merely holding the shotgun up against his cheek.

Anyone who has shot a 12 gauge knows the kick would push the shoulder back and possibly bruise the shoulder if held wrong. This picture shows he is totally unaware of the pain he is about to endure.
My guess is this was posed and the gun smoke was photoshopped. No way this is an actual shot. He would be on his arse.

The country is going to hell in a hand basket and we´re surmising that the Pretender might have staged this stupid picture.
This, my friends, is another smokescreen for the "low information" people of the correct viewpoint to stagger upon.
Our country is about to become czarist Russia, people! Obamacare is the law of the land! That´s more important than whether this photo was shopped for.
Let´s be more interested in Bengahzi, which is about to be swept; the administration coming after our 401ks; and/or an administration that bypasses congress by executive order and a congress who says, "ok" by way of passivity. Our taxes are about to skyrocket, the military is about to be axed, and the people being appointed to positions of power are anti-american.
This picture is a "red" herring.

To start with I´m not a skeet or trap shooter although I have shot skeet. Why the muzzle brake on only the upper barrel of the shotgun? Does seem like a bit much smoke. As for shooting level, that would indicate, to me, that he was following the bird down to the ground and did not shoot it when most others would already have fired. I don´t know how much recoil would show if he were firing a light target load, even from a 12 ga. Overall, especially knowing the subject, I´d vote for fake. I´d also like to know his score if he ever did shoot skeet - 0 just like his name? Maybe he thinks it´s golf and low score is good.

I downloaded the original picture from the White House Flickr account, and here is selected EXIF information from it:
Image: 4096 pixels wide by 2730 high
Camera: Canon EOS 5D Mark III
Resolution: 240 pixels per inch
File date and time: 2013:2:1 17:11:38
Date and time of original data generation: 2012:8:4 19:19:21 (that is, photo was taken at 7:19 PM on August 4, 2012)
Shutter speed: 1/320 second at F4
Software: Adobe Photoshop CS6 (Macintosh)
In other words, the photo was at least uploaded into Photoshop in preparation for release. Was Photoshop used to alter it, also?
August 4 is Obama´s birthday. He spent his birthday playing golf and shooting skeet? Where were Michelle and the kids?

More info about this photo: If you view the original on your computer, where it can be enlarged to full size, you will see that the picture was snapped just at the moment of discharge, and the shotgun is blurred, meaning it is recoiling, but the recoil has not yet been transmitted to 0´s body (except for the right forearm). I am suspicious of that smoke, though.

Modern professional SLR´s can be set to shoot multiple frames/sec. And then it´s a matter of choice which frame is published.
The EXIF data published above does not show the camera set for high-speed shooting.

#24: Jackpot! Besides the poor shooting position and a bruise on the shoulder, the thing that annoys me the most is the smoke.
I am a paper puncher not a skeet shooter so I can not say for sure on shotgun shells. However, nothing I shoot makes smoke.
I believe he posed for the picture and never fired the shotgun. Smoke was added so most would think he actually fired.

Why the two trails of smoke going in different directions starting from different points? I´m a but new to the shooting sports only about 48 years. In the spirit of full disclosure darned little of my experience has been shotgun shooting, mostly rifle and pistol. I´d have that barrel checked for a leak about 4in shy of the business end. He posed with a shotgun, may have shot it, may have shot it well, but this wasn´t a photo of that happening.

In one of his more well-publicized gaffes, Vice President Biden said of John McCain: "Look, John´s last-minute economic plan does nothing to tackle the number-one job facing the middle class, and it happens to be, as Barack says, a three-letter word: jobs. J-O-B-S, jobs." Actually, of course, it´s a four-letter word, and it was his job and the president´s to create a climate for job expansion, and they failed. The evidence is now overwhelming: they have created the worst employment climate in decades.

When your article inspires a big-city mayor to refer your case to a "human-relations commission," you know you´ve hit a nerve. And when that article is the recent "Being White in Philly" piece by liberal Robert Huber, you know it doesn´t take much truth to hit that nerve. That´s the scary part. Huber´s article contains mostly tepid examples of whites´ negative experiences with blacks and primarily black neighborhoods, such as a Philadelphia resident whose grill was stolen from her backyard but "blames herself" for not fencing it in. Its tone is basically apologetic, absolving a drug dealer of responsibility

That´s something to remember when you arrive there next week. Israel has a government, elected by its people in a free, fair, open and democratic election. Multiple parties representing widely divergent points of view met a wildly diverse electorate through free media and open debate. This is no stultified two-party affair with a libertarian insurgency. Israel will be the only country you visit in the region, this time or any other, that has a fully democratic system. Do not be swayed by the "apartheid" slander. Citizens of Israel are Jews, Moslems, Christians, and Druze, each with religious and non-religious elements.

Prodded by a president with a weakness for racial agitation and enabled by a politically complicit media, the State of Florida persists in a prosecution that can come to no good end. The defendant is neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman. The charge is the second-degree murder. The potential outcomes range from major injustice, if Zimmerman is convicted, to mayhem in the streets, if he´s acquitted. And the state plods on as though the angels were on its side. They are not. The witnesses to the February 2012 shooting of 17 year-old Trayvon Martin are proving even more troublesome

The political world changed its orbit Wednesday as Rand Paul seized the spotlight in his March 6 filibuster. Rand Paul -- not this author´s favorite before -- is probably now the 2016 front-runner for president. But the difference results from fundamental changes in substance. How can one day be that big of a deal? Because Rand Paul demonstrated a reproducible, winning formula. It was as if Ronald Reagan were granted just one day to come back to Earth to remind the Party of Lincoln of "how it´s done." Rand demonstrated a repeatable formula that all Republicans can copy.

Sixty-three months ago Barack Obama officially declared his candidacy for President. Only now are some among the so-called media and ruling elites in America slowly awakening from their self-induced infatuation and beginning to understand who he is. It has become difficult to ignore the overt intimidation, demagoguery and deliberate falsehoods spewed forth by Obama relative to sequestration -- a miniscule cut in the growth of federal spending. However, any cursory examination of his past reveals that these tactics are second nature to the man who currently occupies the Oval Office.

Years ago, when I used to play poker with some guys, I played a hand in which across the table from me was someone who looked as though he had a straight flush. He kept pumping up the bidding and everyone folded but me. When we finally showed our hands he had nothing. "You don´t know what you´re doing," he yelled. "Any good player would have folded! Why did you stay in?" he shouted angrily. "Because you curled your lip and reacted furiously when I stayed in. Someone with a winning hand would never do that."

By law, on Friday the executive must begin to cut $85 billion from federal spending. Though, as is his wont, the president is blaming the Republicans for what he claims is a draconian measure. No less a Washington chronicler of events than Bob Woodward of the Washington Post considers that a gross distortion of the truth [T]he automatic spending cuts were initiated by the White House and were the brainchild of [Treasury Secretary nominee Jack] Lew and White House congressional relations chief Rob Nabors -- probably the foremost experts on budget issues in the senior ranks of the federal government.

Too little serious conservative analysis of the 2012 presidential campaign has yet appeared. This is understandable. The results of the election were disheartening to the point of shock. The campaign defied all historical precedent, all commonsense interpretation. The Romney ticket should not have lost and did not deserve to lose. The Democrats, fielding the least worthy ticket in the past century -- and that´s saying something -- did not deserve to win. The reasons they did are myriad and complex. But before we get too far down the road, there is one lesson that has to be grasped:

No, I´m not talking about Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon, and Michael (God rest Michael´s tortured soul). I´m talking about the Chicago Jacksons, Jesse Sr. and Jesse Jr. The Jackson 5 in their heyday gave plenty: music, entertainment, and joy to their fans. The Chicago Jacksons are another story. Jesse Sr. (The Right Reverend) and his son (the erstwhile congressman) have done a lot more taking than giving. "Taking" may be too charitable a word. Shaking down and wheedling may be better descriptors for the Chicago Jacksons´ acts.

By now you likely have heard that Chris Rock considers Barack Obama America´s father. If that is true, then would somebody call Child Protective Services and find us foster parents! For Chris Rock, America´s true Founding Fathers were disappointingly white. I suspect that whatever the color of America´s Founding Fathers might have been, they would not have approved of having a failure like Obama among their esteemed membership. Thought the Founding Fathers had many flaws, they were smart enough to eliminate the self-indulgent institution of slavery from America´s future.

Michelle Obama has admitted that she is already tired of the bangs she first sported in January. The First Lady said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight: ´Bangs are a day-by-day proposition. They´re starting to grow out, get a little irritating.´ Still, she hasn´t let her hairdo woes get her down. ´It´s okay,´ she said after her initial complaint. ´We´ll be good.´ The first indication that her hairstyle was becoming a burden came about last weekend, when Malia, 14, was spotted adjusting her mother´s hair during the White House Easter Egg Roll.

Sen. John McCain says he doesn´t understand the threats from some of his Republican colleagues to filibuster a bill on background checks to buy guns. "I don´t understand it," the Arizona Republican said on Sunday of the threat coming from Sen. Rand Paul,Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Mike Lee and nine other Republicans. "The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote and to let the people know where we stand.” "What are we afraid of? ... If this issue is as important as we all think it is, why not take ... it up and debate?"

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

Los Angeles — Some people have had it with TV. They´ve had enough of the 100-plus channel universe. They don´t like timing their lives around network show schedules. They´re tired of $100-plus monthly bills. A growing number of them have stopped paying for cable and satellite TV service, and don´t even use an antenna to get free signals over the air. (Snip) Last month, the Nielsen Co. started labeling people in this group "Zero TV" households, because they fall outside the traditional definition of a TV home. There are 5 million of these residences in the U.S., up from

On Friday, Sean Hannity brought Pat Smith, mother of the late Sean Smith, on his radio program. The 34-year-old information management officer was one of four Americans murdered in the Benghazi embassy attack on September 11, 2012. In the chilling interview, a distraught Ms. Smith, in tears, pleaded for answers and spoke of the efforts to silence her. Ms. Smith first relayed how her son, prior to the attack, requested additional security in advance and warned the State Department: He did tell them, ahead of time, he typed it into his little typewriter over there,

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank

Neurosurgeon Ben Carson, considered by some to be a potential Republican contender for president, apologized to Johns Hopkins University for the "poorly chosen words" he used in expressing his opposition to gay marriage last month.“I am sorry for any embarrassment this has caused,” Carson said in the letter, reported in New York Magazine.(Snip) "Although I do believe marriage is between a man and a woman, there are much less offensive ways to make that point. I hope all will look at a lifetime of service over some poorly chosen words.” Carson will remain as commencement speaker at Johns Hopkins,

Susan Patton, the Princeton alumna who became famous for her letter urging Ivy League women to use their college years to find a mate, has been denounced as a traitor to feminism, to coeducation, to the university ideal. But really she’s something much more interesting: a traitor to her class. Her betrayal consists of being gauche enough to acknowledge publicly a truth that everyone who’s come up through Ivy League culture knows intuitively —

Gluten-free diets are all the rage, but they can be dangerous if not done right. What is gluten? It´s the spongy complex of proteins, found naturally in wheat, rye, and barley, that gives elasticity to dough and allows it to rise. When flour is moistened and either kneaded or mixed into dough, gluten molecules form an elastic, microscopic latticework that traps the carbon dioxide produced when yeast ferments, causing dough to inflate like a hot air balloon. Baking hardens the gluten, which helps the finished product keep its shape. Wheat — and gluten — is ubiquitous in the American diet.

Newtown killer Adam Lanza may have launched his murder spree at Sandy Hook Elementary School as an “act of revenge,” the Daily News has learned. A close friend of Lanza’s mother told The News that the troubled boy was a target of relentless bullying when he attended the Connecticut school years ago. “I think Adam felt betrayed by the school and this was his act of revenge,” said Marvin LaFontaine, a friend of Nancy Lanza’s. “Nancy told me he was being picked on at school. That they were just torturing him.” Source and text corrected by Staff.

ATTLEBORO, Mass. — As many as 25 students at a Massachusetts school were denied lunch this week — with at least some forced to dump their food in the garbage — because they couldn´t pay, school officials and parents said. Outraged parents said some students at Coelho Middle School in Attleboro cried when they were told by a worker for the district´s food service provider they could not eat on Tuesday because they couldn´t pay or their pre-paid accounts were short on funds. The on-site director for the company, Whitsons Culinary Group of Islandia, N.Y., was placed on administrative leave by
