IRS Audits of Charities Up
79% Under Obama

Breitbart´s Big Government, by Wynton Hall

Original Article

Posted By:ScarletPimpernel, 2/5/2013 3:34:04 PM

An analysis by the Government Accountability Institute (GAI) of Internal Revenue Service (IRS) figures has found that audits of tax-exempt charities have increased 79% under President Barack Obama. [Snip] The GAI’s findings come on the heels of a controversial White House gathering last month with the heads of charitable organizations, wherein the Obama Administration allegedly engaged in “bullying” and “intimidation” tactics to scare charities into supporting Obama’s tax hikes on the wealthy or face the prospect of losing their tax-exempt status.

Comments:
The Left despises charity because it undermines their vision of a centralized government, where government replaces God. It´s not surprising, then, that 0bama would target charities. I would like to know which specific charities are being audited and which charities were represented at last month´s meeting at the WH.

Yes! What charities were audited, and what were the grounds for the audits? It is probably uncharitable (heh, heh!) of me to speculate, but much I doubt that greenie orgs are represented.

How proud they must be.

This president and his Marxist friends would prefer no charities be allowed to exist including Christian churches. The only religion they worship or acknowledge is their great god the state.

Charities are the state´s competition for control of all benefits. You should only look to the federal government for money and comfort. These people, the statists, are completely out of control now.

Follow the money. When ´we the people´ give to charities and take the legal tax deduction, there is less money for the gov´t to extract from us.
If they can decide that certain charities are ´contraband´, the charity closes and VOILA!! more tax revenue (and vacations) for our dear leader.

When´s the audit scheduled for the southern poverty law center? It must be on the docket because the splc is one of the wealthiest causes with more than a $100     million trust. Some years the splc spends more money on fundraising than it does in it´s clients --- the purported victims of civil rights abuses. It´s my understanding that the splc operates from lavish HQs in Birmingham. The splc specializes in defending low life illegal alien criminals. That seems like more than enough reasons to trigger an audit, right?

Upon migrating to the United States many years ago, I embraced my new home and left the past behind. Never could I imagine that, at some point, that past would become relevant. But now, I am compelled to talk about it again. In the USSR, we had state-controlled media which shaped the narrative entirely. Our founder, Vladimir Lenin, was portrayed as a noble, charismatic, and smart man -- the champion of the underdog (the working class), the seeker of equality, defeater of the rich.

It has been my contention that President Obama’s deal with Iran on nuclear weapons had little to do with stopping Iran from obtaining them, and much to do with his desire to achieve detente with the mullah-run Islamist regime. As I put it here: Obama isn’t motivated, as Israel and Saudi Arabia are, by a strong desire to keep Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. That’s not the purpose of this deal. If it were, Obama would have held out for far more than what the mullahs gave him.

Gonorrhea and syphilis are on the rise in the U.S., mostly in men who have sex with men, a trend the government said is linked to inadequate testing among people stymied by homophobia and limited access to health care. The rate of new gonorrhea cases rose 4 percent in 2012 from the year before, while syphilis jumped 11 percent, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said today in a report. Rates for chlamydia, the most common of the bacterial sexually transmitted diseases, gained less than 1 percent.

Virginia is the worst state in the U.S. for burglars, according to a new nationwide study by a security systems company. According to statistics compiled by SimpliSafe Home Security Systems, Virginia homeowners are 46 percent less likely to be burgled than the national average. The study compares the legislative codes of all 50 states as well as the District of Columbia, and contrasts maximum and minimum burglary sentences, as well as maximum fines, as well as other factors. According to the study, Virginia has both the highest maximum fine for burglary--$100,000--as well as the toughest maximum prison sentence--life in prison.

ObamaCare will change the American healthcare marketplace in unintended ways. It will have notable impact on the dental field, through mandated pedodontic coverage. Few people enjoy visiting the dentist; however, dental care may become more problematic. Within a few years, private dental care with a trusted and known practitioner may be limited. In the practice of medicine, a notable trend has been the movement of doctors toward employee status rather than owner/partner business practices. This relationship lessens the working hours that burden younger practitioner´s families and provides economic stability at a lower salary.

The HHS hiring notice states that it needs assistance in tracking and monitoring media stories so that HHS staff remain abreast of "how the department and its agencies are being cast in the public eye."

ObamaCare was sold to the nation as a compassionate response to the approximately 47 million uninsured Americans. Yet, 30 million Americans will still not be insured even after the frenetic misrepresentation and bribery required to pass the bill and the botched rollout. Plus, the policies of millions of insured Americans are being cancelled and replaced with HHS "approved" policies that have higher premiums. Then, following the wipeout in the individual market, millions of Americans currently covered by employer-provided plans will have their policies cancelled because they are deemed inadequate and unacceptable under the ObamaCare regulations issued by HHS.

Under the motor-voter law, federal officials distribute voter-registration forms in all of the states. The consensus: very few. That reality highlights one problem Republicans face as they seek to regain the White House after six years under President Obama. Lots of factors affect elections: the quality of the candidates, the state of the economy, the effectiveness of the campaigns. But in a country whose demographics continue to change, Republicans will begin this campaign with one significant disadvantage. Over the past three decades, the political leanings of
