IRS Audits of Charities Up 79% Under Obama
Breitbart´s Big Government, by Wynton Hall

| An analysis by the Government Accountability Institute (GAI) of Internal Revenue Service (IRS) figures has found that audits of tax-exempt charities have increased 79% under President Barack Obama. [Snip] The GAI’s findings come on the heels of a controversial White House gathering last month with the heads of charitable organizations, wherein the Obama Administration allegedly engaged in “bullying” and “intimidation” tactics to scare charities into supporting Obama’s tax hikes on the wealthy or face the prospect of losing their tax-exempt status.
|
Comments: The Left despises charity because it undermines their vision of a centralized government, where government replaces God. It´s not surprising, then, that 0bama would target charities. I would like to know which specific charities are being audited and which charities were represented at last month´s meeting at the WH.

Yes! What charities were audited, and what were the grounds for the audits? It is probably uncharitable (heh, heh!) of me to speculate, but much I doubt that greenie orgs are represented.

Our government is now in the hands of evil men. And it is the work of so many of the "good people" who have handed it to them.
How proud they must be.

It´s just the charities that support causes which Obama does not support, I would presume.

This president and his Marxist friends would prefer no charities be allowed to exist including Christian churches. The only religion they worship or acknowledge is their great god the state.
Charities are the state´s competition for control of all benefits. You should only look to the federal government for money and comfort. These people, the statists, are completely out of control now.

Follow the money. When ´we the people´ give to charities and take the legal tax deduction, there is less money for the gov´t to extract from us. If they can decide that certain charities are ´contraband´, the charity closes and VOILA!! more tax revenue (and vacations) for our dear leader.

When´s the audit scheduled for the southern poverty law center? It must be on the docket because the splc is one of the wealthiest causes with more than a $100 million trust. Some years the splc spends more money on fundraising than it does in it´s clients --- the purported victims of civil rights abuses. It´s my understanding that the splc operates from lavish HQs in Birmingham. The splc specializes in defending low life illegal alien criminals. That seems like more than enough reasons to trigger an audit, right?

Ben Carson, the noted pediatric neurosurgeon, has become the target of a petition by Johns Hopkins students who want him removed as the medical school’s commencement speaker this spring. Dr. Carson became a media sensation in January when he questioned Obamacare and progressive taxation in a speech to the National Prayer Breakfast as President Obama sat just a few feet away from him. With his new prominence, Carson has apparently also riled some liberals, including these Johns Hopkins students.

Of all the arguments public-school advocates have used to hoodwink generations of parents into condemning their own children to years of state-controlled subservience training, one of the most successful is that without public schools, children cannot be properly "socialized," and will therefore be ill-prepared for life in the "real world." [Snip] The basic premise of the argument for public schools as necessary tools of socialization is that learning to get along, or fit in, with children one´s own age is a vital life skill. Is it?

The mysterious disappearance of about 30 dogs in southern Idaho has baffled animal control officials and raised concerns among dog lovers after a German shepherd was found with its head crushed in a suspected ritual killing. The missing canines range widely in size, breed and age. "The dogs seem to vanish into thin air," said Debbie Blackwood, director of the animal shelter in Twin Falls, Idaho. Officials say some 30 dogs have gone missing in recent months in Twin Falls and nearby communities in an agricultural region in south-central Idaho known as the Magic Valley.

Not since 1984 and the landslide victory of Ronald Reagan have the Republicans had a more winnable election than the 2012 presidential election. Yet the Republican Establishment managed to lose to the worst and most vulnerable President in modern history, with historically poor approval ratings, unemployment averaging over 8.7% during his entire first term, a stagnant economy and someone who ran the smallest and most absurd of all possible re-election campaigns.

The Chicago Police Department is one of many around the nation that now accepts that law enforcement officers, like America’s combat soldiers, suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder. CBS 2’s Mike Parker profiles a family that believes one of their own — a third generation cop — was afflicted with PTSD when he took his own life last month. [Snip] Toward the end, he told his family he was “overwhelmed” by what he was experiencing on the job: the bodies, the violence and especially crime’s effect on children. They´re starting to grow out, get a little irritating.´ Still, she hasn´t let her hairdo woes get her down. ´It´s okay,´ she said after her initial complaint. ´We´ll be good.´ The first indication that her hairstyle was becoming a burden came about last weekend, when Malia, 14, was spotted adjusting her mother´s hair during the White House Easter Egg Roll.

President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Irin Carmon does a great job in Salon in laying out the bounds of propriety for when it´s appropriate to talk about a woman´s looks as a general matter. But I´ve long felt we lack a solid theoretical underpinning for easily discussing these issues, and why precisely it is that

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”
