Chicago Police Changing Response
Plan For Some 911 Calls

CBS [Chicago IL], by Jim Williams

Original Article

CHICAGO– Starting this week, Chicago police are changing their responses to 911 calls. They’ll no longer come right away to reports of things like criminal damage to property, vehicle thefts, garage burglaries, or other crimes in which the suspect is no longer on the scene, and the victim isn’t in immediate danger. The move will free up the equivalent of 44 police officers a day for patrol duties. CBS 2´s Jim Williams spoke to some Chicagoans who think it’s the wrong move for the police. On the block where burglars broke into a home on Christmas Day,

We see cities run by democraps and they are a mess - chicago, LA, Detroit, etc.
We see states run by democraps going bankrupt, CA, NY, IL, etc.

And not a word from the LSM, does anybody think that if these were Republican run cities & states the LSM would be this kind?

Chicago police facing too many stale donuts. Union rules allow time to finish donuts while fresh.... Also, better to wait until all the shooting is over with before responding to the scene...

None of these ´changes´ will effect the murder rate. Serve and protect? Almost 13,000 sworn officers can´t make a difference? The top brass needs to retire or get these cops off their backsides, not adopt inaction as the new plan.

When I was in high school in Detroit, there was a great deal of emphasis on clothing. As I became increasingly interested in fitting in with the “in crowd,” fashion supplanted academic achievement in my hierarchy of importance. My grades plummeted and I became a person who was less pleasant and more self-absorbed. My mother was very disappointed, because she thought I had enough insight and intelligence to avoid the flypaper trap of acting like everyone else. Fortunately, after wasting a year pursuing acceptance, I realized that my dreams went far beyond silk shirts and sharkskin pants. I decided to

WASHINGTON — President Obama wants Americans to see how climate change will remake their own backyards — and to make it as easy as opening a web-based app. As part of its effort to make the public see global warming as a tangible, immediate and urgent problem, the White House on Wednesday will inaugurate a website aimed at turning scientific data about projected droughts and wildfires and the rise in sea levels into eye-catching digital presentations that can be mapped using an app. Mr. Obama’s counselor, John D. In 2011, Vermont passed the nation´s first single-payer healthcare system, "Green Mountain Care." While the law was supposed to be fully enacted by 2017, it has become apparent that there´s no solid plan in place to actually pay for the healthcare of all Vermont residents. Democratic lawmakers, citing missed deadlines and past failures, have begun to call for Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin to "shelve" the plan. “The deadlines for proposing financing have been missed two years in a row now, so to me that’s very disappointing. It’s becoming clearer and clearer that there is no financing plan,” Condon told Vermont

It was a shocking disclosure just two years ago. In Seoul, South Korea, President Barack Obama’s voice was picked up on a hot mic as he told Russia’s Dmitri Medvedev: "Tell Vladimir [Putin] I can be more flexible after the election." It was an unprecedented confession by an American head of state. It was shocking – or should have been – because it showed the president of the United States conspiring, literally whispering assurances to a foreign leader that may not have been consistent with his own public pronouncements to us, the American voters, or to the world. Has President Obama´s impunity come to an end? After five years of his flouting the letter and spirit of the law in an increasingly brazen fashion, congressional Republicans have been starting to ramp up their rhetoric about Obama´s lawlessness, their most concerted effort on the issue to date. Several new reports from top Republicans underscore the breadth of Obama´s executive overreach. Viewed comprehensively, it involves laws ranging from healthcare to immigration to privacy to technology to social issues to national security matters and more. President Obama on Monday slapped Russia with the kinds of economic sanctions not seen since the Cold War, but the administration’s supposed hard line was met with mockery and a “collective shrug” in Moscow, Kiev and Washington. One day after Crimeans voted overwhelmingly to secede from Ukraine and join Russia, the White House and its partners in the European Union responded by targeting high-ranking officials in Moscow along with pro-Russian figures responsible for the unrest in Ukraine. The move adds even more tension to a dramatic standoff between Russia and the West, but early signs suggest the latest round of

Hillary Clinton may well be the most "known" politician in the world. She and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, have been on the national stage for more than two decades -- traveling from Arkansas to the White House to the Senate to the 2008 campaign trail and finally to the State Department. During that time, every look and utterance from Hillary has been examined, then examined again, then analyzed, then overanalyzed. That´s why this series of photos -- shot by LIFE magazine in 1969 as part of a feature on outstanding college students -- is so fascinating. It captures

Error 404: U.S. officials plan to relinquish federal control over the administration of the Internet to something called the "global Internet community," which is full of tyrants to whom the free flow of information is a threat. In the wake of the NSA surveillance scandal, some might not be inclined to defend federal involvement in anything related to the flow of information between individuals. But the decision announced Friday by the Commerce Department to give up next year its oversight of Icann, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, to the "global Internet community" is a bad idea. Those were some pretty barbed lines the president unloaded on the comic actor last week in their semi-parodic "Between Two Ferns" interview. In case you´re wondering why I´m writing about this—well, I am too. A Malaysian jetliner has vanished into thin air, while Russia has completed its seizure of Crimea and may yet invade other parts of Ukraine. Serious stuff, you might say.
