First Comes Honor
American Thinker, by Steve McCann

Original Article

Posted By:magnante, 2/5/2013 8:40:42 AM

A nation without honor is a nation without a future. Today the United States finds itself in a quagmire of ever-increasing self-doubt and foreboding. Chief among the factors that have brought America to this point has been the abandonment of a sense of what is right, just and true as it relates to the duty imposed by conscience. Honor is being abandoned and replaced by duplicity, avarice, self-aggrandizement, cowardice, and an unbridled lust for power and notoriety. These characteristics are symptomatic of the bulk of the American governing class

The country is led by a man with no honor, no sense of honor, no concept of honor. A man unwilling to take a clear, coherent stand on anything, offering up only more unspecific prose...a nowhere man.....a cypher. When duty calls he renders no opinion, no guidance, no leadership. His lack of integrity is both sad and alarming, because we need a direction, a focus and a plan. As it is, we have nothing, empty space, hot air.....

Destroying the GOP:
How Immigration Turned California Blue

Republicans won California in every presidential election of the ´50s, ´60s, ´70s, and ´80s, except for the ´64 Goldwater loss. Now California has a third-world economy with one-party dominance. The pro-amnesty Republicans should think clearly about what happened to the Golden State. Today, California´s GOP has withered to a small fraction of the state´s registered voters. Since the state began tracking party affiliation in 1922, Republicans have never had such a low share. Republicans are now 29 percent of voters; Democrats are 44 percent. But California did not go quietly. In 1994, California voters, and governor Pete Wilson, tried to eliminate the incentives

African-Americans were the richest people ever to come to these shores. They were billionaires -- in the realm of the soul. Ever since then we have sung the harmonies forged by slaves in the crucible of their experience. (snip) For half a century, political, academic, and media leaders pounded into black consciousness the idea that, for them, blame was an archaic concept. The ability to feel ashamed -- an essential ingredient for any system of morality -- was to be eradicated. No matter what actions were taken or deeds committed, nothing should ever cause them to feel they had soiled

When apocalyptic cults turn murderous, they become a danger to the public. The warmist cult, frustrated by the failure of nature to back-up their prophecies of doom, apparently is turning to homicidal fantasies, and venting them in the pages of the New York Times. A truly shocking cartoon was published in the pages of that formerly august newspaper, brought to our attention by wattsupwiththat.com and climatedepot.com. In it, the frustrations of warmists over the unusually cold winter (which US Government climatologists completely failed to predict) are channeled into the suggestion that they use "the 2014 icicle surplus" as

The Democrat-Media complex works to in effect silence conservative critics rather than engage their criticisms and debate the issues. They employ a variety of programs and techniques to ensure that substantive points from the other side will either be ignored, distorted, demonized, or delegitimized. Shut up, they explained. Most conservatives have personal experiences with this dynamic all the time: friends or family who will not engage in discussions and debates about their liberal beliefs. Their response: shut up, they explained. But this type of smothering of free speech now is writ large over America.

Of all the myriad myths spread at light speed by the enemies of Christianity and astonishingly believed without much critical thought by vast numbers of people, one of the most surreal must be the idea that Nazism was Christian. Fleeing his failed diplomatic Middle East efforts, noted nonscientist Secretary of State John Kerry flitted off to Indonesia where he exuded hot air bloviating about (hu)man caused climate change as a weapon of mass destruction as noted here earlier. However, by Kerry´s reasoning, the ongoing slaughter in Syria is nothing compared to Kerry´s own contribution to manmade climate change/worse than any weapon of mass destruction, blah, blah, blah. How so? John Kerry is not a flappy bird moving from place to place under his own power. So how does he get around? Why, by planes. Big ones.

Instead, the speaker and his dwarves will seek to "calm" a divided party, or so reported the Washington Post on Monday. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is all-in for the soothing music and back rubs approach for aggravated Tea Party patriots and grassroots conservatives. But it won´t work. The former Massachusetts governor tweeted at Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer (R), saying it “is right” to veto the bill passed by the state legislature last week. Brewer has not said whether she will sign or veto the measure. However, a number of media outlets have reported people close to her expect her to veto it. It has the makings of a royal mess for “King Barack.” Monday morning’s Supreme Court argument about the Environmental Protection Agency’s authority to regulate greenhouse gases went badly for the Obama administration — so much so that the real question before the justices seemed to be how severe the EPA’s loss would be. The administration’s solicitor general, Donald Verrilli, pleaded with the justices to recognize the “urgent problem” of climate change, because the “threat to future generations gets worse” with each passing year. But as the argument played out, the court’s swing justice, Anthony Kennedy, made clear that he

Compared with how the Obama administration has swept under the rug the Benghazi attacks of September 11, 2012, Nixon’s attempt to cover up the Watergate burglary was rank amateurism.
