| Actor Jim Carrey said Saturday that anyone who has bought an “assault rifle” since the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School retain little that is “worth protecting.” “[Anyone] who would run out to buy an assault rifle after the Newtown massacre has very little left in their body or soul worth protecting,” said Carrey on Twitter, Feb. 2. Gun sales have soared since the massacre in Newtown, Conn., which left 26 dead, including 20 first graders, as politicians have proposed stricter gun control legislation. Data released by the FBI showed a record number of

I don´t have a class III stamp from BATF, so I could not buy an assault rifle If I wanted one. Nor would I pay the thousands of dollars for one if I had a Class III stamp and permission from the BATF. Mr. Carrey doesn´t know what he is talking about.

Jim Carrey has a history of mental health problems. I´m not sure if he has been diagnosed as bi-polar but I know he has suffered from clinical depression. He is the poster child for someone that should not have access to weapons. On some level he probably knows that he cannot be trusted with a gun and therefore his small damaged mind believes that no should be.

That´s why we gun nuts choose to do the body and soul protecting ourselves. We want it done immediately and correctly. Assault weapons tip the odds in our favor. If done right you should feel nothing but the recoil and hear the ringing in your ears. Those are both good signs. They mean YOU are still alive. Now go put on a pot of coffee. The police will be there in 20 minutes. Oh yes, one more thing... don´t forget to clean your weapon.

Education Secretary Arne Duncan said Wednesday that “cultural hesitation” makes it more difficult for some Hispanic parents to want to enroll their children in public pre-school programs because of their preference for family and friends. Duncan’s remarks came when asked about pre-school and the Hispanic community at an event to mark the anniversary of Educare of Washington, D.C., a preschool for children from six weeks to five years old. Educare of Washington, D.C., is part of the Educare Learning Network, which has 18 pre-schools in 12 states.

WASHINGTON - It´s called the Affordable Care Act, but President Barack Obama´s health care law may turn out to be unaffordable for many low-wage workers, including employees at big chain restaurants, retail stores and hotels. That might seem strange since the law requires medium-sized and large employers to offer "affordable" coverage or face fines. But what´s reasonable? Because of a wrinkle in the law, companies can meet their legal obligations by offering policies that would be too expensive for many low-wage workers. For the employee, it´s like a mirage — attractive but out of reach. The company

Kennedy begat Johnson. Johnson begat Nixon. Nixon begat Ford. Ford begat Carter. Carter begat Reagan. Reagan begat Bush. Bush begat Clinton. Clinton begat Bush. Bush begat Obama. A Senate panel will begin consideration of a carbon tax bill as part of a broader hearing on climate change in mid-July. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee Chairwoman Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) told reporters in the Capitol on Thursday that Sen. But it faces a tough path in the Senate, and is likely dead on arrival in the GOP-controlled House. While liberal Democrats have revived previously moribund climate change discourse in recent

Meanwhile, another Gallup poll shows President Obama with only a 47% approval rating, with 44% disapproving. If you think about it, this makes perfect sense. After all, Obama fooled everyone when he ran as the anti-Bush in 2008. Everyone thought Obama meant he would be less hawkish than his predecessor. Asked what the moral difference is between what Dr. Kermit Gosnell did to babies born alive and aborting those same infants moments before birth, Pelosi refused to answer. Rep. Trent Franks (R-Ariz.) said Wednesday that the incidence of pregnancy caused by rape is "very low," prompting criticism from Democrats who said the GOP is waging a "war on women." Franks made the comment during a committee mark-up of his late-term abortion ban bill, which is expected pass the House next week. The Republican lawmaker was arguing against a Democratic amendment allowing rape and incest victims to procure abortions. As written, the bill only exempts women whose lives are in danger. "You know, the incidence of rape resulting in pregnancy are very low," Franks said.
