Reagan hand looks back on
White House days

Human Events, by Neil W. McCabe

Original Article

One of President Ronald W. Reagan’s closest aides took the East Wing White House tour Jan. 22 and shared his thoughts about the president who left office 24 years ago. “The best part about being back in the White House is that things don’t change, at least the physical part,” said James F. Kuhn, now a senior manager at Washington’s Broaddus & Associates, but who for more than 20 years was the body man, advance man and personal assistant and friend to President Ronald W. Reagan. Entering the White House was easier in those days, he said.

Things have changed significantly - America is no more.
China, Russia, Japan and India rule.
America is laughed at and ridiculed.
Third world nations openly challenge and mock the big Zero.
We have a loser in the WH.
America is in its death throes.

Enjoyable reading, thanks OP.

Reagan was very optimistic.

We can turn things around, even before we rid ourselves of the Kommie Kult Figger
now plaguing our nation.

Obamacare and the economy will be so bad in 2014, we can capture the Senate and hold the
House, controlling more of the agenda during and after the midterms.

We can win the White House in 2016. Notice how the Bushies rejected this guy and other
Reaganauts in 1989. Big mistake, but the Bush losers are limousine liberals.
Whaddaya expeck?

Reagan will ultimately once again prevail.
GAWD willing.

Lovely piece! And I too noted the statement referenced by Poster #2: (FTA) Kuhn said at the end of the Reagan administration, he considered staying on at the White House, but the staffers for the new president would not keep on anyone, who did not support Bush in the 1980 primaries. “It’s really too bad because they missed out on a lot of great people, who could have helped them.”

Things that make one go "Hmmm."

‘The Daily Show’ issued something of a correction this morning. Host Jon Stewart started a segment by saying that the cable dial had something in the morning for all Americans: “Fox & Friends” for the heartland American; CNN’s “New Day” for those waiting at the DMV. Then: “But if you want the inside scoop on Washington’s power players, look no further than MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe,’ ” Stewart said, before being interrupted by Samantha Bee.” ‘Morning Joe’ is not a morning news show,” said Bee, who continued, ” ‘Morning Joe’ is a family.” What followed was another of Bee’s brilliant solo

California’s three-year drought has prompted a new gold rush in the same Sierra Nevada foothills that drew legions of fortune seekers from around the world in the mid-1800s. The dry conditions mean streams and other water pools started to dry up from the drought, exposing areas that previously could not be explored due to the the depth of the water. The gold rush from December to January saw amateur prospectors dig for riverbed riches in spots that have been out of reach for decades. Tuesday, Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid reimbursed his campaign for nearly $17,000 in payments made in late 2013 to his granddaughter for “holiday gifts.” But new payments are surfacing bringing the total to $31,000. One $9,064 payment in December 2012, on page 51 of in Reid´s Jan. 31, 2013 Federal Election Commission filing, was made to “Ryan Elisabeth,” a jewelry brand his granddaughter, Ryan Elisabeth Reid, uses. Reid´s campaign described this payment as being for “gifts for supporters.” Reid told the Las Vegas Sun the 2013 payments went towards “thank-you gifts” for “supporters and staff.”

DARRINGTON, Wash.- As firefighter Jeff McClelland uncovered a body on the moon-like surface that blankets what used to be the community of Oso, he soon realized that the search party had a close connection to the victim: The dead man´s son and brother were among the volunteers scouring the debris field. The relatives sat beside the body as it was zipped into a bag. McClelland found himself overcome with tears. The discovery served as a touching reminder of the deeply emotional work that is playing out in this tight-knit town as rescuers like McClelland search for bodies in the muck

A core competency of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius is issuing false assurances that all is well with Obamacare. An administration about-face has left the Cabinet official looking like the Baghdad Bob of American health insurance. When Rep. Kevin Brady (R-Texas) asked her at a hearing two weeks ago whether the administration would extend the Obamacare enrollment period beyond March 31, she responded with a crisp and direct: “No, sir.” To the uninitiated, that sounded like an unmistakable denial of any intention to delay the enrollment period. The uninitiated were sadly misled. The secretary subsequently referred in her

WASHINGTON — In the days leading up to President Obama’s trip to Europe, the director of the Secret Service, Julia A. Pierson, sat down with the agency’s senior officials to reiterate a message she had focused on during her first year in the job. Although it had been nearly two years since several agents were caught soliciting prostitutes in Cartagena, Colombia, shortly before Mr. Obama arrived there for a summit meeting, Ms. Pierson said the agency remained under scrutiny. Agents should be reminded, she said, to be on their best behavior during the coming trip to Europe, where Mr. Obama

Even with more than two years left in his term, President Obama’s ability to fill many of his administration’s most important jobs is rapidly diminishing. White House officials are scrambling to reassess their confirmation strategy in the wake of two major setbacks this month: the Senate’s rejection of lawyer Debo Adegbile to head the Justice Department’s civil rights division and signs that surgeon general nominee Vivek H. Murthy could go down in defeat as well. On Tuesday, the administration appointed Karl Remón Thompson as acting head of the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel — bypassing the Senate confirmation process

Former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld has said that ´a trained ape´ could do a better job managing American interests in Afghanistan than President Obama. The retired Republican made the insult while doing a phone-in interview for Greta Van Susteren´s Fox News show on Tuesday. He argued that the President made a serious error by failing to negotiate a status forces agreement with Afghan President Hamid Karzai. Gawker points out that such an agreement would effectively commit the United States to having a certain number of troops in the country for a number of years beyond the already-agreed-upon plan which

Okay, THAT was certainly embarrassing. At the end of a joint news conference with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte in the Netherlands on Tuesday, the applause for Barack Obama came from a grand total of one guy. One. After thanking the crowd twice for suffering through his boring, standard worn-out spiel, Obama looked around the room, expecting the usual fanfare and applause he receives from his loyal followers back home. It never came. Instead, the Leader of the Free World was met with one slow, awkward clap. Question: was MSNBC’s Chris Matthews in the house?

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D., Nev.) said the fault of struggling to sign up on the Obamacare exchanges didn’t lie with the faulty website, but with the people who weren’t “educated on how to use the Internet.” Explaining the reasoning behind the latest Obamacare delay, Reid said too many people just didn’t know to use their computer properly and needed more time. Apparently, it had nothing to do with the well-documented failings of the website that have embarrassed the White House for months. “We have hundreds of thousands of people who tried to sign up who didn’t get through,” he said.

As the U.S. Supreme Court weighed the constitutionality of a contraception coverage mandate Tuesday morning, a federal appeals court heard a separate legal challenge that could have much more sweeping implications for the future of President Obama´s health care law. And if the oral arguments before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit are any indication, it’s time for the White House to start sweating over a lawsuit that up until now has flown relatively below the radar. At issue in the case are the subsidies that the federal government provides for individuals purchasing insurance through Obamacare. Though the text
