Rev. Jesse Jackson Calls for
an Urban Policy Intervention
to Curb Gun Violence in Chicago

Fox News, by Staff

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 2/4/2013 8:12:55 AM

There are new calls for President Obama to intervene in Chicago where a teen who performed at the 2013 inauguration was fatally shot. Reverend Jesse Jackson held a march yesterday in honor of 15-year-old Hadiya Pendleton. She was gunned down by gang members who fired into crowd as she talked in a park with friends. Jackson spoke to Eric Shawn on America’s News HQ about gun violence. He said there needs to be an urban policy intervention. “We’re looking at a real crisis of the pains of poverty. […] You can’t police poverty.”

Comments:
Even if you could understand half of his garbled nonsense, as usual the problem is they need mo money and the gun manufacturers are fault and they need jobs. Of course the name 0bama is never mentioned in relation to the destruction of jobs in this country. He´s so offensive. This is the entire article with video.

Rev, tell ´your people´ to get their butts back in school, get an education, and stop acting like animals.

I don´t ever expect that to happen, as that would mean the the Rev has woken up on the plantation that he and the rest of the civil rights crowd have created for the African-Americans in this country.

Get married. Get two jobs at Walmart or another store or a restaurant that pay $8/hour. That´s a starting wage of $32,000. Work hard and soon you will be making $40,000. Live with a parent for one or two years if there is room. If not, rent a cheap 1-bedroom apartment.

Poverty over.

Of course he wants money to fix the problem. If you ask him, the best way to administer this money would be through him.

As usual, this is a self-serving scam.

Let Chicago pay to fix its own problems, not use my tax money. Chicagoans made their bed by supporting those who would not fix the problem early on. As for Jesse, he would do better to put the blame where it belongs with people who do not respect others.

Mr. Jackson avoids the truth that murderers can be rich, poor, or in between. He wants another giant, expensive, and misdirected "government" program to waste more time, effort, and money on lies. Why doesn´t he speak truth? Is he not the same Jesse Jackson who - years ago - admitted that when he was walking at night and heard footsteps behind him that he was relieved to see that it was a white person?
I thought "ministers" were supposed to "minister" to their people. Why isn´t Mr. Jackson "ministering" to the people in the areas where murders are so prevalent?

Poverty in America is a relative concept. While one might understand crimes committed in order to secure survival needs or even the basic comforts of life, it is most unlikely that urban street gang killings fall into this category. Thus it is misleading and confusing to attribute such behavior to poverty. The truth is more likely the reverse: the social pathology of "urban," i.e. lower class black culture is the result, not of poverty, but of government´s attempts to combat it by welfare.

I have no data whatever - but I would wager that the great majority of "urban youth" committing murder and other crimes are the products of trans-generational welfare "families," i.e. matriarchies of uneducated welfare mothers and grandmothers.

Gang activity is atavistic and driven by something besides poverty, even if poverty in any real sense happened to exist. Just because people are poor does not mean they will establish gangs and engage in antisocial activity. Jesse Jackson should know better than this. Talk like his is a major reason it is difficult to do anything about the problem. The problem, whatever the cause, is not poverty.

It could in part be boredom. Young males with nothing to do, supported in most cases by welfare, barely if at all literate, possessing no marketable skills, naturally look for excitement and purpose in their lives. Of course the drug trade is a significant element as well.

Gamgs deal drugs, and drugs mean big money. So when gangbangers shoot each other, it is usually because of disputes over marketing areas. the Rev knows that. The police know that.
And a lad can make more money dealing drugs in one week, than he or she could earn in a month.
When Lou Rawls did that song, containing the lyrics "I ain´t workin´ for the Man for forty years, for no gold watch´ he was implicitly talking about drug dealing.
So stop the poverty argument. It is false.

That said, when you have leaders who spend their entire life exploiting racial animosity you get peoplw with no hope.

They blame the white man for all their troubles and that is reinforced by the likes of Sharpton and Jackson.

U.S. employers added jobs at a solid pace in March in the latest sign that the economy is rebounding from a weak stretch brought on by a harsh winter. The Labor Department says employers added 192,000 jobs, slightly below February´s total of 197,000. Employers also added a combined 37,000 more jobs in February and January than previously estimated. The unemployment rate was unchanged at 6.7 percent. But a half-million Americans started looking for work last month, and most of them found jobs. Immigration reform advocates are fond of citing broad support for their cause. But in fact the coalition behind the Senate Gang of Eight comprehensive reform bill is fragile and loosely cobbled together. How could Big Labor and the Chamber of Commerce and the tech world and Big Agriculture all unite behind one bill? Very tentatively. It wouldn´t take much to break the coalition apart. And if that happens, the effort to enact comprehensive immigration reform could blow up, not just for the moment, but for some time to come. And there are signs that is exactly what is occurring now.
