All of Obama´s appointments are figureheads who get their advice from burnt out 70´s radicals.A person with their own ideas or expertise wouldn´t be allowed anywhere near these jobs.The whole point of Obama is to turn everything traditional on it´s head.

If you ask any tough questions to these clowns,you´ll get a stinging rebuke from the WH which is a form of intimidating another branch of government.Just like obama intimidating he SC on obamacare while the decision was still in progress.

Lets be clear......those who vote to confirm Hagel have more desire to protect Obama from looking bad than they have a desire to protect the USA and maintain good leadership for our troops put in harms way.

I can´t pay any more attention to this. Kerry and Hagel are both affronts to our military, Purple Hearts or not, yet they will both be confirmed.

I am watching closely, however, Kyle´s murder. His anti-Obama feelings were well known. Hopefully the government doesn´t drag out giving us details. The very idea that a former enlisted man has such vast knowledge about world affairs and military actions and reactions etc. is laughable. I am a former enlisted man (Air Force) and I can tell you that most enlisted men, especially ground troops, are more involved in staying alive than naval gazing. In fact, how many former enlisted men would one have entrusted to plan and execute the invasion of Normandy? Officers that have reach field level rank are usually sent to War College where they are taught the history of warfare and what works and what doesn´t. No enlisted man does. Neither do Senators and/or former Senators.

Sadly, as Ms. Rabinowitz says, Hagel will most likely be confirmed and the Republican won´t do a thing to stop it. Unlike dims, they don´t seem to have to courage to fillibuster a nomination they don´t like. And this is one that the nominee is clearly unqualified for the office.

Why do we assume Hagel misspoke when he said Obama´s policy on Iran was "containment"? Why do we assume that this adminstration´s public policy utterances are the same as its actual objectives?

I think Hagel did not accidently make a mistake, I think he accidently told the truth.
