Chicago marchers urge Obama to
come home to address gun violence

Reuters, by Renita D. Young

Original Article

Civil rights leader Jesse Jackson and relatives of victims of fatal shootings in Chicago urged President Barack Obama on Saturday to come back to his hometown and address the gun violence plaguing the city. Before a march on the city´s South Side, Jackson, a former Democratic presidential candidate, said America´s third most populous city needed more help than Mayor Rahm Emanuel and police superintendent Garry McCarthy could offer. "When the president shows up, it shows ultimate national seriousness," said Jackson, a Chicago resident. He also called for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to help patrol the streets

Comments:
Well, of course! Why didn´t we already think of that? Our taxpayer dollars can help Rahm Emanuel control his city through Homeland Security. Jesse Jackson is a dolt.

Can´t blame it Rahm. He tried to ban Chick Fil A.

The Chicago murder rate is proof that government can´t raise children. All the housing, head start, public schooling, food programs, medical care, after school care, and summer programs cannot and will never replace fathers in the community raising their children. We´re just enjoying the grown up fruits of decades of government replacing the family.

This isn´t about race either. We similar results in a broader geography as a result of the high divorce rate. Turns out pop culture can´t raise children either.

It´s probably just a matter of time before having a Dad is considered an unfair advantage and they start passing laws to address it.

As previously noted, Chicago is *already* a ´2nd Amendment Free Zone´. What´s left for the Narcissist in Chief to achieve there?

It certainly isn´t like the *media* has been overly concerned with the cattle-car quantity of (primarily black on black) victims piled up in the ´We produce Windy Politicians´ city...

Carry on. Nothing to see here folks - just more liberal posturing. Sure will be a relief when they eliminate the scourge of gun violence in the US - then they can turn their sights back to the *real* slaughterhouse of violence plaguing our nation - professional football.

Can I get a ´roll eyes´ emoticon?

Actually, I´ve suggested the same thing numerous times on this site. 0bama is the only person in the country with the "creds" to have a chance of influencing these gang bangers. It is one of the great sins of his years in office that he hasn´t done squat to address the issue of extreme violence and homicide in the community he organized.

One way to solve the problem would be free guns and ammo to all gang bangers. Let them shoot it out and get it over with. Then, arrest the survivors.

Another way would be to shake up the Chicago Police Dept. With 12,244 sworn officers and over 1,925 other employees, they can´t make a difference? If JJ wants to make a difference, he should rally the ´community´ to call on rhambo to fire the top brass and get rid of the unions.

JJ sr just sees a chance to help himself to some more of our money. Don´t over think it. Obama comes to town, proposes an initiative, Jesse´s organization get a skim off it. Nothing changes. Success! Easy-Peasy...
The only reason Jesse Sr. is doing this now is Jesse Jr is apparently incapable of carrying on this part of the family business.

A plane crash at Smolensk in Russia four years ago wiped out the Warsaw leadership. It used to be seen as an accident. Now, after Putin’s games in Ukraine, people aren’t so sure. Four years ago this week, Polish President Lech Kaczynski was killed in a plane crash near the Katyn Forest in Russia where he was flying to honor the 22,000 Polish officers, lawyers, priests and professors slaughtered there by the Soviets 70 years before. Ninety-five other military, political and public figures including his wife died on that plane. One of the more heartbreaking details to emerge was that First

Last week Hillary Clinton gave what appeared at first to be a rambling and unfocused answer when asked to name the proudest achievement of her four years as Secretary of State. The short version is, she doesn´t have one. But Clinton´s words make a lot more sense when seen not as a non-answer to a specific question but as an effort to lay the foundation and establish a theme for a presidential campaign. The occasion was her appearance on a panel discussion at the "Women in the World" meeting in Manhattan. It was pretty easy going; the moderator, New York Times

President Obama‘s former body man Reggie Love is — ahem — loving life. Specifically, life outside the White House. Thursday, The Mirror spotted him at lunch, dining al fresco at BLT Steak, a short sprint from the White House. If the 32-year-old was ever a tense, stressed out aide in a suit, you wouldn’t know it. He was relaxed, at ease, and sipping lemonade as he chatted away with what looked to be a longtime female friend, possibly a former coworker. So, of course, The Mirror listened in. He argued that an Israeli announcement of 700 new housing units for a neighborhood in Jerusalem were what did in the talks. “Poof, that was sort of the moment,” Kerry said. “We find ourselves where we are.” This is an amazing claim, especially when the housing units are not in a settlement—but are in Jerusalem, Israel’s capital, in a location that every Israeli and every Palestinian knows will be part of Israel in
