Massachusetts GOP reaching out
to Romneys for a Senate run?

Washington Times, by David Eldridge

Original Article

Posted By:Dreadnought, 2/2/2013 11:36:59 PM

Casting about for a viable GOP candidate for the Senate seat being vacated by Sen. John Kerry, Massachusetts Republicans are looking to two key members of Team Romney who dramatically raised their national profiles during last year’s presidential contest: Ann Romney, the wife of the candidate, and Taggart “Tagg” Romney, the candidate’s oldest son. The Boston Herald reported Saturday that party leaders are talking about Mrs. Romney, even though she has expressed no interest in the seat and has never run for public office. A special election will be held June 25 to replace Mr. Kerry

The GOP is indeed unimaginative and desperate. If this is it, just throw in the towel.

Not a Romney or a Weld for the GOP. It´s time to be daring, it´s time for Onyango Obama, the illegal alien uncle of Barack Obama. Mass Dems want weird candidates, and just elected a fake Indian who practice law without license to prove it. So, who better to run for the Kennedy senate sear than the President´s illegal alien uncle who has been running from ICE for 20 years.

If Obama´s uncle doesn´t want to give up his liquor store job, then ask Zeituni Onyango, an illegal immigrant living in Boston public housing. Zeituni is President Obama´s aunt, and she would surely run as a Republican now that she has been granted permission to stay in the US.

I think Mitt has had his fill of public service. He would be a marvelous Senator (or President) but he won´t continue to offer pearls to swine.

If Mass.voters voted for kerry year after year and now Warren, why would they all of a sudden be smart enough to elect a GOP senator.

Brown gave Obama the 60th vote he needed on Dodd Frank which is reeking havoc on financial institutions and killing jobs.I guess this was to show he´s independent and wouldn´t always vote the party line.Worked out real well for him. Be a republican or not, no in between crap.

It´s pretty clear to me that most Republicans are quite happy with losing, thank you very much. No need for any of the Romneys to waste their time. Let us wallow in our wretchedness.

Speculation about Ann Romney running for the senate is ludicrous--and probably a newspaper reporter´s invention.

As to the identity of the prospective Republican candidate--who knows? Sean Bielat, a good conservative who lost once to Barney Frank and again to the Kennedy kid, has dropped out of sight. Richard Tisei says no.

The interesting thing is that the Democrats haven´t yet fielded anyone with statewide--let alone national--name recognition.

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has accepted the resignation of his Prime Minister Salam Fayyad despite pleas from the U.S. and the EU that he retain Fayyad. Actually, I am wrong to say “despite.” According to Fatah officials, U.S. pressure on Abbas to keep Fayyad in power proved counterproductive. Let us not probe the merits of Abbas’ decision to accept Fayyad’s resignation or explore the demerits of Fayyad’s tenure as prime minister. PA politics is a cesspool of corruption and ineptitude — always has been and probably always will be. Let us instead

Few Americans can not answer this question: who is the worst domestic mass murderer in United States’ history? Due to the United States media, most are aware that Timothy McVeigh slaughtered 168 people with a bomb in 1995. Most Americans also know the names of our three most monstrous serial killers: “The Green River Killer” Gary Ridgeway, Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy. The U.S. media is again responsible for the general awareness of these men; these stories deserved — and received — national attention due to our common interest in personal safety, the rule of law

Five months after his resounding reelection victory, President Obama is bumping up against the boundaries of his political power in Washington as the core of his second-term legislative agenda moves into a still-divided Congress. His ability to secure the three high- profile legislative items now confronting Congress — gun-control measures, reform of the immigration system and his long-term budget priorities — is likely to determine his domestic legacy. Obama’s plan now is to ensure that as much of his politically challenging agenda as possible is enacted, after months of effort to frame the policies

Something truly remarkable happened yesterday. After days and weeks of pushing by New Media and social media, the mainstream media has not only admitted that they should have covered the ongoing capital murder trial of abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell, they have promised to immediately remedy that mistake: The Daily Beast´s Megan McArdle: "Why I didn´t write about Gosnell´s trial -- and why I should have." Bloomberg columnist Jeffrey Goldberg writes: "It’s too late now, though, to suppress coverage. [Kirsten] Powers and others have shamed the media into paying attention, and the press is now on the case. It’s remarkable

Evil Mitt Romney paid an effective tax rate of 13% when his returns were released during the 2012 campaign. Now, Barack Obama’s returns were released yesterday, and he paid an effective tax rate of 18%. So, how is it that Barack Obama is more fair, more mainstream, and more American – in the eyes of his liberal base – because he pays 5% more in taxes? Paying 18% is less than the effective tax rate of39% he wants for the job creating and investing class in this country, and 12 % shy

Tim Graham absorbs his fair share of media in his job as director of media analysis at the Alexandria, Va.-based Media Research Center and as senior editor of its publishing outfit, NewsBusters. The formula goes pretty much like this: Watch, read, listen, groan—and write up lightning-quick blog posts exposing the excesses of mainstream media organizations. If Chris Matthews says something slightly excessive; if Brian Williams says something that’s not quite right; if PBS misfires — NewsBusters is there to commemorate the occasion.

Gun debate in Senate likely

Washington Post, by Karen Tumulty and Ed O´Keefe    Original Article

As the Senate prepares to begin debate next week on the biggest gun-control bill in nearly two decades, the gun rights lobby and its Senate allies are working on a series of amendments that could have the opposite effect — loosening many of the restrictions that exist in current law. Most worrisome to those who advocate new gun limits is an expected amendment that would achieve one of the National Rifle Association’s biggest goals: a “national reciprocity” arrangement, in which a gun owner who receives a permit to carry a concealed weapon in any one state would then be allowed

As Matt Drudge notes, the Columbia Daily Tribune reports that in November 2011 and January 2012, the state highway patrol asked for and received the list of about 185,000 concealed weapon permit holders

Pro golfers, golf writers, and TV commentators are up in arms that Tiger Woods was only given a 2-stroke penalty for his illegal drop on the 15th hole yesterday. Golf people are not happy about it. They say that the new rule is B.S. (or it´s at least being misinterpreted), and Tiger should DQ himself to save the integrity of the game.

But eight former employees of a run-down West Philadelphia abortion clinic now face prison time for the work they did for Dr. Kermit Gosnell. Three have pleaded guilty to third-degree murder. With President Obama, there’s always a catch. In the 2014 budget he announced last week, Obama proposed a more accurate way of calculating the inflation rate for annual cost-of-living increases in Social Security. It’s a technical change in pursuit of honesty and good government. And if adopted, it would cause benefits to grow more slowly, though almost imperceptibly so. Republican leaders in Congress ought to be delighted since they had “championed”—Obama’s word—the idea in the first place. Then came the catch. The president’s price for adopting this gentle reform was hundreds of billions in new tax increases.

Here is something I don’t understand: liberals are often revealed as vile, vulgar hatemongers–not all of them, of course, but far too many–yet they never seem to pay a penalty at the polls. Why is that? Margaret Thatcher’s death has been the latest occasion for the Left to show its true stripes. All across the U.K., there have been demonstrations–vulgar at best, and violent at worst. In Bristol, lefties celebrating a Thatcher “death street party” started fires, destroyed property and battled police: This evening in Trafalgar Square, liberals have turned out for a long-planned celebration of Thatcher’s death:
