A former Tarleton State University student who wrote the best selling book "American Sniper" was one of two victims shot and killed Saturday at Rough Creek Lodge. Chris Kyle and another man were found dead at Rough Creek Shooting Range between 3:30 and 4:00 pm according to Sheriff Tommy Bryant. Eddie Ray Routh was arrested just before 9 p.m. Saturday in Lancaster. Investigators would not release additional information about the case or comment on how Routh may have been connected to Kyle. (Snip) Kyle, 38, was a former Navy SEAL who served four tours of duty in Iraq,

I read his book last year. He was a true hero and a SEAL legend.

FTA: "Bryant said the three men were at the shooting range Saturday when Routh shot the victims at point-blank range before fleeing in Kyle´s truck ."

This sounds planned.
Mr. Kyle appeared on O´Reilly and Hannity last year. He had become quite famous. I just have a sinking feeling some of our soldiers aren´t going to be safe when they come back home.
Especially if they´re heroes.
Godspeed Chris. I pray there is justice.

This is so sad. He was trying to help his former comrades deal with a problem his own government doesn´t help with adequately.

I watched him on the TV show ´stars earn stripes´ and was left amazed at the humility and self-sacrifice that he and his fellow servicemen exude from every pore of their being. If you haven´t seen that TV show, I highly recommend watching it. To see the ´stars´ turn from self-centered egotists to being humbled is priceless.

I´m in shock. A SEAL goes to a shooting range and is shot to death? The article does not name the second victim. I´m struggling to come up with a motive on this one. My husband, who is still in bed sleeping as I type this, is a former SEAL. This will hit him hard.

I work at a large outdoor shooting complex. This is something we all dread, and train for relentlessly how to deal with it if it does.

Chris Kyle was an amazing man, in many ways. That he was also a true American Hero goes without saying.

Something about this story, here, the next morning, just doesn´t pass the smell test. I joked to hubby after last week´s shootings that ´´they´´ must have given the signal over the implanted brain chips of these psy-ops subjects.

Think about this: If an American hero, a Navy SEAL, record-holder for long-range sniper kills, book author - shot on a shooting range by another veteran with PTSD.....

How sad. But is the backstory totally believable in the midst of a furious (´´fast and furious´´ ??) gun control debate? We know DHS considers veterans as potential terrorists - I still have the printed version of that publication right here on my desk.

And gee whiz, the same day the WH releases a photo of (a new American Hero?) Obama supposedly skeet shooting?

There´s too much going on, and chaos and confusion is part of The Plan. Beware.

Finally, my heart-felt and deeply sad sympathies to Kyle´s family. He, and they, deserve better than this. RIP, Chris, and may God be with you and those left behind.

Imagine if a former Republican presidential candidate and U.S. senator had called a current Republican president a delusional liar whose programs are wasteful. Would the mainstream media not be all over the story? Such a person would be interviewed at length by Wolf Blitzer on CNN as well as made the rounds of the morning talk shows and the Sunday news programs as well. The media buzz would be red hot on this topic for days extending into weeks. Well, there is such a person but because he is a Democrat saying these things about President Obama, we can expect

A startling rift appeared Tuesday on the Supreme Court as the three female Justices came out swinging like Brunnhildes — women warriors — for what they erroneously labeled an “entitlement” to employer-provided contraceptives and morning-after pills. The Justices were hearing oral arguments in Sebelius v. Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc., a case hyped by the Democratic Party as a test for women’s rights. Justices Kagan, Ginsberg, and Sotomayor sprang on Hobby Lobby’s attorney , interrupting his every sentence and pummeling him with questions taken right out of the Democratic Party’s “war on women” playbook. That playbook was laid out in a

Las Vegas - Many of the Republican Party’s most powerful insiders and financiers have begun a behind-the-scenes campaign to draft former Florida governor Jeb Bush into the 2016 presidential race, courting him and his intimates and starting talks on fundraising strategy. Concerned that the George Washington Bridge traffic scandal has damaged New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s political standing and alarmed by the steady rise of Sen. Rand Paul (Ky.), prominent donors, conservative leaders and longtime operatives say they consider Bush the GOP’s brightest hope to win back the White House.

The past couple of weeks have marked a turning point in American ugliness as the mob has turned its full fury on first lady Michelle Obama. From criticism of her trip to China to a recent “tell-all” by former White House assistant press secretary Reid Cherlin in the New Republic about Obama’s allegedly tyrannical behavior, the gloves have been removed. As described, she was a perfectionist — super-attentive to detail and laser-focused on advance planning. And this is bad because? Worse, according to a former (anonymous) staffer, there was no barometer for meeting Obama’s high standards. “The first lady having

A University of Virginia student arrested by Alcoholic Beverage Control agents who wrongly believed she´d illegally bought beer when in fact she only had bottled water is seeking $40 million in a lawsuit filed Tuesday. Elizabeth K. Daly, 21, alleges malicious prosecution, six counts of assault and battery and failure to appropriately train ABC agents in the suit which names the state and seven agents involved in her arrest. (Snip) Daly claimed she attempted to flee from the agents because neither were in uniform, one pulled a gun, and the other tried to smash her car window with a flashlight. ´My

A "vast majority" of Mitt Romney donors, establishment pooh-bahs, and an anti-conservative consultant who is the epitome of permanent political class want former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush to run for president in 2016. Bush was in Las Vegas this week meeting with Sheldon Adelson, and, according to the Post, "many if not most of 2012 GOP nominee Mitt Romney’s major donors are reaching out to Bush and his confidants with phone calls, e-mails and invitations to meet." One bundler even said that a "vast majority” of "Romney’s top 100 donors would back Bush." The Post also noted that in the meantime "Bush’s

Obamacare supporters are taking a bit of a victory lap today after yesterday’s administration announcement that six million people have signed up for private plans under the law, equaling the revised projection put out by the Congressional Budget Office after the botched launch of the exchanges last October. It’s a weak cause for celebration, given that success, according to Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, was originally "at least" seven million people getting covered under the law by the end of March. And as an Obamacare factoid, the six million sign-ups figure just doesn’t tell us all that much

If Betsey McCaughey is correct (and I bet she is, because she has not only read the entire ObamaCare bill, she has written a book about it), Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan publicly humiliated herself during the oral arguments on the Hobby Lobby case, revealing that she either did not read the law, or failed to comprehend it if she did so. Writing in the New York Sun, McCaughey lays out what is wrong with the Justice’s declaration about Obamacare: she asserted that the statute itself mandates provision of birth control. Not one word in the Affordable Care Act guarantees health plans will cover birth control products.

Former U.S. Senator Bob Kerrey thinks President Barack Obama, a fellow Democrat, was re-elected in 2012 because he ´sucked less´ than former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney. The Nebraskan straight-talker told MailOnline in an exclusive interview that Obama isn´t up to the job of bringing liberals and conservatives to the table to rescue America´s slowly choking entitlement programs. And Obama, he said Wednesday in his Manhattan office, knew full well he was lying when he promised that the Affordable Care Act would allow Americans to keep insurance plans they liked. ´He had to know he was misleading the audience,´ Kerrey said

President Bill Clinton´s guilty conscience over his affair with Monica Lewinsky – and a desire to repair his shattered reputation by using the State of the Union address – set his speechwriters an unenviable task, newly released archive papers reveal. The former president appeared to be trying to butter up his wife, Hillary Clinton, out of guilt – or perhaps to fool her – before the scandal broke. And he was determined to try to convince the American public afterwards that he was still of a high moral character. The latest batch of documents from the Clinton Library covering his presidency in the

YOKOHAMA, Japan — Climate change is already having sweeping effects on every continent and throughout the world’s oceans, scientists reported Monday, and they warned that the problem is likely to grow substantially worse unless greenhouse emissions are brought under control. The report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, a United Nations group that periodically summarizes climate science, concluded that ice caps are melting, sea ice in the Arctic is collapsing, water supplies are coming under stress, heat waves and heavy rains are intensifying, coral reefs are dying, and fish and many other creatures are migrating toward the poles or
