| This Peacock is cooked.NBC News president Steve Capus has resigned following a rough eight-year tenure on top where, under his watch, the “Today” show lost its 16-year winning streak to “Good Morning America,” the primetime news magazine, “Rock Center” flopped and Matt Lauer went from a beloved morning show host to an embattled TV personality."It has been a privilege to have spent two decades here, but it is now time to head in a new direction," he wrote in a memo to staff today.

Every "news" show, be it network, cable or local, is populated by vacuous wide-eyed innocents with a brash in you face approach to their gossip mongering touted as news. Even the Weather Channel is now unwatchable due to the same approach to "infotainment". Sheesh. No wonder we have fools in power that we do.

Obviously the hard left propaganda NBC has been spewing forth isn´t enough. Time to get a more far left Marxist in there and turn thanks even further left. That should fix things up. Honestly, if NBC actually hired a real journalist that was skeptical all things goobernment and reported as such, NBC would have more viewers than all other networks combined. There is a much larger market for real news and not more of the hard left propaganda we now get.

Capus (maybe that should that include an "r") decided that pandering to defecrats by shoveling road apples for "news" was better than serving the public over the public airwave like they are supposed to do and thus is a great example of what happens when you lose focus on your core business.

And by the total decline of NBC News under Brian Williams, who had to scramble like mad at the Fast & Furious indictment (what ever happened to F&F?---on hold under Holder?) because his program had mentioned the scandal exactly once in the prior six months and then for less than a minute. WHAT A JOKE!

Total BS. This ´resignation´ has to do with the Zimmerman lawsuit claiming defamation. All this Lauer/Curry/Today crap is a deflection from the real cause. They are going to lose the lawsuit and Crapus is the cause.
FTA:“I have seldom described my role as `presiding’ over NBC News. Instead, I have viewed it as leading a collaborative effort to pursue journalistic excellence."

President Obama is giving back 5% of his $400,000 salary to show solidarity with federal workers hit by the dread sequester. That’s not much of a nick to a man who has no worries about living expenses and has plenty of independent income, to boot. But, hey, symbolism counts. It’s an appropriate gesture for a debate about debt and deficits that’s shallow, thanks in no small part to Obama. The dread sequester — remember that? — went into effect one month ago, following weeks of presidential fear-mongering about the automatic cuts.

Announcements by potential 2016 candidates, Hillary Clinton and Rob Portman, that they now approve of gay marriage made headlines as predicted. Never once discussed, however, by advocates is how this issue has anything to do with the economic state of the nation today. Legalizing gay marriage will not improve the economy nor is it really that important to the average homosexual. Celebrity nuptials and endorsements may garner news coverage stressing it as a civil rights issue but ironically these come from a wealthier than average demographic. The average homosexual has concerns that are much more aligned

Two of Dr. Salomon Melgen’s maids in the Dominican Republic say the FBI illegally detained them and tried to force them to make false statements against Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) and prostitutes, according to a new report. The maids are calling on the Dominican National Police to investigate the FBI’s actions, The Miami Herald reported Tuesday evening. The Herald quoted from an affidavit filed March 6. “The questions posed to her were directed at forcing her to admit” that Menendez “participated in parties with…prostitutes,” according to maid Rosa de Jesus Acosta’s written accusation, as reported by The Herald.

One of the ongoing perplexities of President Obama’s Syria policy has been the stark contrast between his muscular rhetoric and halting, hesitant actions. On the one hand, he has insisted that the country’s dictator Bashar al-Assad “must” go and has predicted that his fall is all but assured. But on the other, he has thus far limited himself to authorizing aid in the form of training and intelligence for Syria’s beleaguered rebels. While we’d be the last to conclude that the case for intervening in Syria is open and shut, we have argued here at Via Meadia

President Barack Obama is pressing Republicans to stop obstructing federal judicial nominees, protesting the delays in private conversations with senators and in public declarations by administration officials. The White House is now focusing on the nomination of Sri Srinivasan for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, considered the nation’s second-most influential court because it often handles major environmental, labor and national security cases through its jurisdiction over federal rulemaking. Srinivasan’s confirmation hearing is scheduled for April 10.

They´re starting to grow out, get a little irritating.´ Still, she hasn´t let her hairdo woes get her down. ´It´s okay,´ she said after her initial complaint. ´We´ll be good.´ The first indication that her hairstyle was becoming a burden came about last weekend, when Malia, 14, was spotted adjusting her mother´s hair during the White House Easter Egg Roll.

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank

Gluten-free diets are all the rage, but they can be dangerous if not done right. What is gluten? It´s the spongy complex of proteins, found naturally in wheat, rye, and barley, that gives elasticity to dough and allows it to rise. When flour is moistened and either kneaded or mixed into dough, gluten molecules form an elastic, microscopic latticework that traps the carbon dioxide produced when yeast ferments, causing dough to inflate like a hot air balloon. Baking hardens the gluten, which helps the finished product keep its shape. Wheat — and gluten — is ubiquitous in the American diet.
