Menendez drained more than 1/3

A check that Democratic New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez wrote to his longtime campaign donor Dr. Salomon Melgen on Jan. 4 to cover private jet travel to the Dominican Republic represented more than one-third of his cash-on-hand — and perhaps as much as 90 percent — according to an analysis of his most recent U.S. Senate financial disclosure report. Dan O’Brien, Menendez’s chief of staff, told WNBC-TV4 in New York on Tuesday that the senator reimbursed Melgen $58,500

NYSlimes going after Menendez.

Reporting that the donor received a VERY lucrative contract that had been pushed by Menendez.

When you lose the Slimes, you have lost your senate seat.

Count on Christie appointing Booker to his seat if it comes to that.

After the addict confession, Menendez will claim that he didn´t know they were underage cause they didn´t look 15 or 16, they looked at least 17 or 18.

What a sleazy flake.

The claim that "The $58K was reimbursed from the senator´s private accounts" was used to deflect criticism that the expense for the trips were not on the senator´s yearly financial report. Now, it´s revealed that the reimbursement was made this year for trips that should have been disclosed in 2010.

But since it was way back in 2010 anyway, what difference does it make?

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Democrat Anthony Weiner said that the new sexting firestorm that set his City Hall campaign reeling last week will in the end make him a stronger mayor and better able to deliver for Staten Island and the rest of the city. "I´m going to be a successful mayor because of it, because it´s going to give me a level of independence," he told the Advance in an exclusive interview. "I´m not constructing a campaign around the approval of my peers. I´m constructing a campaign around the aspirations of my neighbors."

My colleague Chris Flavelle writes that the decision boosts the odds that other groups will be able to win further changes to the law, such as eliminating the excise tax on medical devices.
