US setting up Patriot missiles
near Turkish-Syrian border

Stars and Stripes, by John Vandiver

GAZIANTEP, Turkey — Hours before a convoy of trucks was slated to arrive at the Turkish army base here, U.S. Army Maj. Ryan Schrock faced a logistical challenge. Nearly 100 trucks carrying everything from water and MREs to multimillion-dollar Patriot missiles needed a place to unload, but there were few good options. “This is bad,” Schrock said Thursday as he surveyed a muddy, makeshift road. “I’m in a single lane here. We’re going to bottleneck.” Schrock and his Turkish counterpart scouted out an alternate route, improvising on a military post not accustomed to the heavy equipment

Setting up missiles to protect Turkey from those WMD´s that the left told us never existed in Iraq and are now in the hands of Ashad?

Bush told the truth. Ashad´s weapons are the proof.

Turkey at one time was our friend. Then they forced US to remove our Matador missiles which were a great deterrent that was a thorn in Russia´s side.

Now once again we come to their aid and they say......?

Immigration Less Than Two Percent
of Obama´s State of the Union Speech
Breitbart Big Government, by Matthew Boyle    Original Article

President Barack Obama only mentioned immigration reform efforts as a mere throwaway line in his State of the Union speech Tuesday evening. The only time he mentioned the matter, according to prepared remarks distributed to press before delivery, was as something he argued would help the economy after a long line of other policy prescriptions he pushed. “Finally, if we are serious about economic growth, it is time to heed the call of business leaders, labor leaders, faith leaders, and law enforcement – and fix our broken immigration system,” Obama said. “Republicans and Democrats in the Senate have acted.

The cable news ratings are out for January 2014, and boy, do things look shaky for CNN. Numbers compiled by Nielsen Media Research show that Fox News is towering over the competition. Its total viewership surpassed CNN and MSNBC combined, with the gap increasing even further during prime time. Fox even surpassed its own record, coming up 6 percent in prime time viewers from this time last year. It’s great news for the cable network, which saw a slight decline in 2013 but now appears poised to regain that ground and more. The big story, however, is CNN’s precipitous drop

President Obama will vow to pursue a populist economic agenda with or without the help of lawmakers in his State of the Union address on Tuesday night. Obama will say he will not “stand still,” but will act on his own if he cannot work with Congress. “What I offer tonight is a set of concrete, practical proposals to speed up growth, strengthen the middle class, and build new ladders of opportunity into the middle class,” Obama will tell the assembled members of Congress, according to excerpts of his speech provided by the White House. “Some require Congressional action, and

WASHINGTON —President Barack Obama will lay out his strategy for getting around a divided Congress starting with a wage hike for federal contract workers in a State of the Union speech on Tuesday that reflects scaled-back legislative ambitions after a tough year. Obama will make clear in his address (9 p.m. EST, 8 p.m. CST) that he is willing to bypass U.S. lawmakers and go it alone in some areas by announcing a series of executive actions that do not require congressional approval. The White House said Obama would announce that he is issuing an executive order to raise the

MEMPHIS, Tenn. –A federal judge has ruled that a former prison guard charged with killing two rural Tennessee postal workers is eligible to face the death penalty at trial. U.S. Senior District Judge Jon P. McCalla ruled Tuesday that Chastain Montgomery is not mentally disabled and thus eligible to face the death penalty on charges that he killed Paula Robinson and Judy Spray in the post office in rural Henning in October 2010. Prosecutors say the women were fatally shot during a robbery committed by the 50-year-old Montgomery and his 18-year-old son Chastain Montgomery Jr. Defense attorneys argued that Chastain

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) reassured reporters Tuesday that President Obama’s State of the Union address won’t drag on for too long — and quipped his biggest fear is falling asleep during the speech. Reid said White House staff told him the speech won’t be too long, unlike some of the laundry-list speeches that were a hallmark of former President Clinton. “I understand the speech isn’t going to be very long,” he said. “Katie Beirne told us it won’t be a record-breaker for length,” he added, in reference to Katie Beirne Fallon, the White House director of legislative affairs.

WASHINGTON -- House Speaker John Boehner (BAY´-nur) says President Barack Obama likely has the authority to raise the minimum wage for new federal contract workers. But the speaker warned against any other unilateral steps that could encroach on the Constitution. Boehner told reporters at a Capitol Hill news conference Tuesday that a unilateral increase in the minimum wage is bad policy that will cost low-income Americans their jobs. Washington- Three numbers to keep in mind Tuesday night as President Barack Obama delivers his State of the Union address: six, 30 and 43. Six as in the number of seats Republicans need to gain this November to take control of the Senate. 30: The historical average of House seats gained by the other party -- in this case the Republicans -- in a two-term president´s "six-year itch" midterm election. And 43%, of course, is Obama´s job approval rating -- a reminder that his political standing is weak, though up slightly from its recent low point, as he stands before

President Obama has been losing his TV audience — literally. “Repealing and replacing” Obamacare with market-oriented reforms has been the Republican mantra for years now. If you’re a long-time follower of this space, you know that we’re skeptical that Obamacare will ever be repealed, GOP slogans to the contrary. Today, however, a trio of experienced Senate Republicans—Tom Coburn (Okla.), Richard Burr (N.C.), and Orrin Hatch (Utah)—have put forth the most thoughtful and constructive plan yet developed to repeal and replace Obamacare. The plan seeks to ensure that as many Americans have health coverage as Obamacare does. It’s a proposal grounded in the real-world tradeoffs that all serious reformers must make.

Former Vice President Al Gore raised eyebrows last week when he suggested that “fertility management” was the key to fighting global warming and promoting economic development in poor countries. Gore’s comments drew criticism from free-marketeers who said his remarks amount to “eco-imperialism.” “Gore’s agenda for saving the world from global warming has always included population control,” Myron Ebell, director of global warming and international environmental policy at the free-market Competitive Enterprise Institute, told The Daily Caller News Foundation. “Advocating population control specifically for Africa is just another form of imperialism. Clinton didn’t acknowledge any particular blunder in the days or weeks leading up to the 2012 siege that resulted in the deaths of four Americans. Deep within the Earth, a fierce molten core is generating a magnetic field capable of defending our planet against devastating solar winds. The protective field extends thousands of miles into space and its magnetism affects everything from global communication to animal migration and weather patterns. But this magnetic field, so important to life on Earth, has weakened by 15 per cent over the last 200 years. And this, scientists claim, could be a sign that the Earth’s poles are about to flip. Experts believe we´re currently overdue a flip, but they´re unsure when this could occur. If a switch happens, we would be exposed
