| CHICAGO (Reuters) - Shirley Chambers of Chicago had four children - three boys and a girl. Now they´re all gone. Chambers will bury her son, Ronnie Chambers, on Monday. He was the last of the single mother´s children - all victims of gun violence in Chicago over a period of 18 years. "I was in shock, truly, because I´m just knowing that Ronnie´s going to grow up and be an old man. That was in my heart," said Chambers, 54. The loss of four siblings to the same fate illustrates the depth of Chicago´s stubborn gun violence problem

Comments: Emmanuel now wants the authority to enter the homes without warning or warrant of lawful gun owners in the name of enforcing the FOI card requirements.
No word on what he plans to do about the criminals.

Let´s get it straight. It is not GUN violence. The streets of the worst Chicago neighborhoods are not overrun by packs of guns, just lying in wait for someone to walk by so they can go off on their own.
If Chicago were beset by a wave of attacks by rabid dogs, we would not see headlines decrying the "tooth violence," and we would not hear calls to pull all the teeth from the mouths of chipmunks, squirrels, and horses. That would be rediculous. The rational response would be to remove the mad dogs from the streets.

Even though his Rap Sheet was over 100pgs long he´d "turned his life around" and was mentor/music producer for the rising star "Yung Killa"...Cabrini Green-tore down black owned homes/businesses and provided "free"Govt. housing, Govt.healthcare, Govt. schooling, Govt. Food, Govt. daycare, Govt. Transportation, Govt. adult Education, Govt. counseling, Govt. protection, and all they asked was that you vote for more Govt....and more Democrats. Single mother living off of the Govt. her WHOLE life...now has nothing but a broken heart from broken Promises. (Bet she still votes for ´em too)

I feel for the poor mother. I can imagine that relocating to a safer place would have been a challenge financially, but surely there was some way she could have managed it. Instead she chose to keep them in that dangerous environment. And it was a choice.

I moved my family out of the city for their protection. I suppose the addiction to government bennies is to addictive to give up, but surely she could have moved to a smaller town in Illinois and kept her government goodies. Wild horses could not keep me in a god forsaken place like Chi-town after the first one got killed.

Not to be crass, but Chi Land stories seem to all run together at this point. So many of these children who are killed by a gang member PULLING THE TRIGGER OF A GUN after it is pointed at a living being They seem to believe they are performing the abortion but way past the due date. #11, that was totally uncalled for. It isn´t ALL blacks that live in these circumstances...and it isn´t only blacks either.
Yes, I feel bad for the poor woman. I know that people should try to do what they can to better their lives and protect their children. But what folks seem to forget is that these people have been conditioned for generations by leftist lies and policies. Their community leaders and "reverends" are also bought and paid for by the Democrat party to ensure that these people are held down, don´t dare question their "benefactors", pressure the people through peers if they try to change things, and keep them dependent. The people don´t think they can do any better. There are no jobs, their schools are horrible, and the women are practically expected to become single welfare mothers. The Democrat Party destroyed them and they love the fact thar these "undesirables" (remember progressives believe in eugenics and think some people are inferior) are killing each other. It is criminal.

Yung Killa? That´s disappointing, but not as disappointing as the parish priest´s comments. I´m thinking number one on the problem list is no daddy at home, not mentioned at all by the priest. (Nice one, #8). Shouldn´t the priest working on getting his flock to marry before having children?

The article says she is a "Single Mother", but doesn´t say if her husband is dead, or if there ever was a husband. I´m thinking its just a string of "Baby Daddies". This all could have been avoided if she didn´t have an unwed litter of children. Or if she had maybe worked hard and tried to get them out of the environment they lived in instead of living off the dole. Oh yeah, and I´m sure that Ronnie´s "talent" and "Mentoring" of a rapper named "Yung Killa" was really going to take him places. Well, I guess things would have been far worse if they hadn´t lived in a city with the stricktest gun control laws in the country.

I find it hard to believe that 100% of this woman´s children were killed by random acts of violence. A little digging would probably uncover extensive gang ties for every one.
Unwed motherhood, and living on the dole in a housing project limits your choices in life, and this woman is living the consequences. My sympathy for her is limited.

Fox News reporter Jana Winter faces jail for doing her job too well. She´s not been accused of any crime, only of protecting the identity of confidential news sources while reporting an important development in a major national story. A Colorado court has now compounded a pending murder trial with a second legal case, one with profound First Amendment ramifications. The story started on July 20, 2012, when James Holmes walked into a midnight showing of the Batman film “The Dark Knight Rises” in an Aurora, Colo.

CROWN POINT | The Lake County sheriff is defending his decision last month to dismiss a physically disabled employee and hire an ex-convict. Sheriff John Buncich said James F. Piunti´s inability to hear or speak meant he couldn´t perform adequately in the department´s Bureau of Identification, where employees must constantly speak with the members of the pubic requesting police reports, criminal background checks and gun-permit applications. "We made every accommodation we possibly could to help him fit in, but things just didn´t work out," Buncich said.

One of a handful of Colorado sheriffs who oppose several gun control bills working their way through the state legislature claims lawmakers are threatening the salaries of sheriffs to punish them for their position. The clash comes as pro-gun control elected leaders seek tighter restrictions on firearms in the wake of the Aurora movie massacre last summer and the Dec. 14 school shooting in Newtown, Conn. El Paso County Sheriff Terry Maketa, while saying he would be obliged to enforce new law, publicly said he would willfully

While the Transportation Department warns that the sequester will lead to cutbacks causing snarled lines at airports across America, the agency is still considering a massive $5.5 billion government gamble on a high-speed train from suburban California to Vegas. The total cost of the XpressWest project is $6.9 billion, with 80 percent potentially being fronted by the federal government. It would create a train that runs from Victorville, Calif., to Las Vegas and, if green-lighted, would be the largest loan of its type issued in America.

A federal prosecutor came in for some biting criticism today from Supreme Court Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Stephen Breyer for a racially charged remark made during a criminal trial. The comment by the justices came as the court declined to hear the appeal of a man who was convicted in a Texas federal court of being in on a drug conspiracy. The issue for the defendant, Bongani Charles Calhoun, was whether he knew that the people he accompanied on a road trip were about to buy illegal drugs, or whether he was merely along for the ride.

Lake County officials have mistakenly traded away the plot of land on which she had been living for 54 years in a tax delinquency sale. "I got an eviction notice Thursday. Discussing gun control, CNN´s Wolf Blitzer on Friday told a Utah sheriff that if Barack Obama issues an executive order, that order is the law and the sheriff must obey. However, jurisprudence on this topic reveals exactly the opposite. As the head of the executive branch of the federal government, a president can issue executive orders only to employees of the federal government—and only regarding implementing federal laws or programs. A governor can likewise issue executive orders to employees of his state government regarding the laws or programs of that state. Source corrected by Staff.

President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Irin Carmon does a great job in Salon in laying out the bounds of propriety for when it´s appropriate to talk about a woman´s looks as a general matter. But I´ve long felt we lack a solid theoretical underpinning for easily discussing these issues, and why precisely it is that

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank
