Lautenberg calls Menendez
controversy ‘a terrible tragedy’

Washington Post, by Aaron Blake

Original Article

Posted By:LittleHoodedMonk, 1/31/2013 6:03:42 PM

Sen. Bob Menendez’s (D-N.J.) New Jersey colleague has responded to the growing controversy surrounding the senator’s ties to a doctor who was recently raided, and he’s not exactly doing Menendez any favors. Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.), in comments reported by the Star-Ledger, left open the possibility that the allegations against Menendez could have merit: “If there are infractions as they are reported, it’s too bad,” Lautenberg told reporters. “There a lot that’s said and covered, but I for one know Bob as a very capable United States senator, and I’m sorry to see him in this position,”

Comments:
Menendez has interesting "friends."

Yeah it’s just terrible that poor upstanding Menendez got caught having sex (for hire) with underage girls. Just a darn rotten shame. He is so capable and stuff. The first thing out of this fossils mouth should have been some inking of concern for the victim underage girls) and not for the Perp!

~~“(He) has built an almost sterling reputation for a lot of years and our hope is that this, what we’re hearing, is not as it’s presented,” Lautenberg said. “I think Bob will survive this with his good work. This is a terrible tragedy. And we’re not yet sure what all of the facts are.”~~

Almost sterling reputation? Survive?

Frank Lautenberg is an old senile fool. The fire in Brazil was a tragedy. The shootings at Newtown was a tragedy.

The randy child abusing junior senator from New Jersey is in a mess of his own making.

Democrats are always making excuses for sexual perverts.

Bingo #4. This means the inside word going around the House and Senate is that Menendez has been caught with no good way out.

The MSM ignored this at first now it´s hit the national news.

Dems do have a sense of humor - Menendez is to replace Kerry as Chairman of the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee. Who understands foreign affairs better than this deviant?

If this child abuser does resign, perhaps Obama will appoint him to be our ambassador to the Dominican Republic. He could fill the embassy with the 12 and 13 year girls he prefers. As Democrats love to say, It´s for the children.

The two senators from NJ, Lautenberg and Menendez, have hardly brought home the bacon from DC over the years. Menendez takes little interest in general NJ issues, unless it has an Hispanic slant to it. Lautenberg was unheard from for ages until Chris Christie cancelled the ´tunnel to Macy´s basement´ multi-billion dollar boondoggle project, and then he suddenly had a hissy fit. Doubtful he can even find his own way back to NJ from DC.

Is the tragedy that he got caught or is it a tragedy because some liberal media bozo says it is? The tragedy is that a loser such as Mendez goes to a foreign country to use young girls for his pleasure--the victims he used this time, and this is probably not the first time speaks volumns about this sorry guy´s character. The tragedy will be that he won´t be censured by the Senate, and it will all fade away--as usual for dems.

As long as those little Dominican girls were paid in full - - Menendez should be left alone.

Direct cash payments like those do a whole lot more good than futile foreign aid programs. He did it for the children.

Whenever a Democrat/liberal/leftist goes ´astray´ the MSM displays a lot of understanding and sympathy for the alleged or outright perpetrator. For instance - "What a terrible thing to have happened to this outstanding and honorable public servant. We must all gather round now and give him our support."

As I recall...

Menendez was appointed the the US Senate by then Governor Jon Corzine. Shorty after, he was investigated for renting his childhood home to a non profit group, for the sum of $300,000.00, while he obtained Federal Funds for that same group. It was thought that the group was paying inflated rents to Menendez as part of a deal.

The person who spearheaded that particular 2006 investigation was the partner of NJ Judge Patty Schwartz. The same Patty Schwartz that Obama nominated as Judge to the US Court of Appeals, for the Third Circuit, who´s nomination Menendez held up.

Senator Menendez also accepted illegal campaign contributions, to the sum of $46,900.00 from Joseph Bigia. Senator Menendez claimed he didn´t know, and said he would donate the money to charity.

Menendez also served on the probe of MF Global, the company once ran by Jon Corzine.

Bridgewater, N.J. - Like clockwork, they´re coming back -- after 17 years. "They" would be cicadas, the big, noisy bugs that climb out of the earth about every decade and a half to make everyone´s life more exciting. Experts tell Gannett News Service that the bugs live underground and feed off fluid that gathers near the roots of plants, then emerge from the soil when its temperature reaches 64 degrees. They´re largely harmless, but their sheer numbers can cause headaches. Some areas could see as many as a billion of the cicadas per square mile. That can lead to a lot of dead bugs all over roadways

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

Los Angeles — Some people have had it with TV. They´ve had enough of the 100-plus channel universe. They don´t like timing their lives around network show schedules. They´re tired of $100-plus monthly bills. A growing number of them have stopped paying for cable and satellite TV service, and don´t even use an antenna to get free signals over the air. (Snip) Last month, the Nielsen Co. started labeling people in this group "Zero TV" households, because they fall outside the traditional definition of a TV home. There are 5 million of these residences in the U.S., up from

On Friday, Sean Hannity brought Pat Smith, mother of the late Sean Smith, on his radio program. The 34-year-old information management officer was one of four Americans murdered in the Benghazi embassy attack on September 11, 2012. In the chilling interview, a distraught Ms. Smith, in tears, pleaded for answers and spoke of the efforts to silence her. Ms. Smith first relayed how her son, prior to the attack, requested additional security in advance and warned the State Department: He did tell them, ahead of time, he typed it into his little typewriter over there,

No one is more preoccupied these days with Hillary Clinton´s 2016 plans than the Beltway political class—not even the former presidential candidate herself. To hear some tell it, her decision will be dispositive for all other Democrats thinking of entering the race. And pundits and reporters aren´t the only ones positing the "The Hillary Factor": No less than the House Democratic whip, Steny Hoyer, told BuzzFeed, “I don´t know that anybody would run against Hillary…. If she runs, she clears the field.” It´s an understandable conclusion, given Clinton´s stature in the Democratic Party and her 70 percent

Neurosurgeon Ben Carson, considered by some to be a potential Republican contender for president, apologized to Johns Hopkins University for the "poorly chosen words" he used in expressing his opposition to gay marriage last month.“I am sorry for any embarrassment this has caused,” Carson said in the letter, reported in New York Magazine.(Snip) "Although I do believe marriage is between a man and a woman, there are much less offensive ways to make that point. I hope all will look at a lifetime of service over some poorly chosen words.” Carson will remain as commencement speaker at Johns Hopkins,

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank

Susan Patton, the Princeton alumna who became famous for her letter urging Ivy League women to use their college years to find a mate, has been denounced as a traitor to feminism, to coeducation, to the university ideal. But really she’s something much more interesting: a traitor to her class. Her betrayal consists of being gauche enough to acknowledge publicly a truth that everyone who’s come up through Ivy League culture knows intuitively —

Beyonce and Jay-Z celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in Cuba this week. The couple, who married on April 4, 2008, took in the sights of Old Havana, visited a school, dined on a rooftop terrace and strolled the fan-filled streets in their island best.(snip).The power couple declined to answer journalists´ questions about their visit to the island nation, but some outlets are reporting that the moguls are there as tourists, though that would be illegal because of the half-century embargo the U.S. has on the Communist country. However, the Miami Herald said Washington has issued special licenses for
