Beyonce admits Inauguration
Day pre-recording

NEW ORLEANS- Beyonce answered critics of her Inauguration Day performance the best way could - with another sterling performance of the national anthem. The difference? On Thursday, it was live: She admitted during her Super Bowl news conference that when she performed for President Barack Obama and the nation, she decided to sing to a prerecorded track because she didn´t have time to practice. Calling herself a self-proclaimed "perfectionist," she said wanted the day to go off without a hitch. "I practice until my feet bleed and I did not have time to rehearse with the orchestra,"

I honestly don´t know what the big deal is. I worked security for the Super Bowl one year and the day before the Super Bowl, they recorded the singer singing the National Anthem so there weren´t any screw ups. It sounded like a sensible approach at the time and it sounds like a sensible approach now. Now the half time show. That was, and should be, live.

She didn´t have time to rehearse because she (unlike the other inaugural performers) did not arrive ahead of time...diva, you know. I am tired of hearing about Beyoncé. She comes from a very good family who do not pretend to diva-hood.

Now for the truth: She´s arrogant, holds this country in contempt, is a racist, and she was too lazy to take the time to rehearse. What a crock.

Also whining all over about the sadness of her miscarriage.

Drumming up interest for her Super Bowl gig? She looked rough on inauguration day. And her husband always looks sullen. Happy couple.

Yeah, it DOES make a difference.

Why are there always one or two clowns around that says it does not?

She was THERE to sing the song LIVE. The band was asked to fake it as well, which is really bogus. So everyone there is just clapping and smiling at a performance that is not taking place. Biden right there, all smiles, clapping during the fakery. Don´t tell me he didn´t know, he was right there.

And it took her this long to admit it? If it was no big deal, why not, right away, say, sure, we had the background music going just to support everyone, or whatever.

No time to practice with an orchestra? Who is she kidding.

Why bother with a performer if they´re going to lip-synch or cello-synch (or whatever you call Yo Yo Ma´s fake performance in 2009)? Just play taped music and have the audience sing the national anthem.

Nothing wrong with pre-recording it -
something wrong with pretending you didn´t.

Speaking of the inauguration, just noticed Michelle´s pic on Drudge. Across the page is Rupaul. It´s pretty bad when his wig makes him look more feminine than she looks with hers.

It´s her business what she chooses to wear, but do have to agree that this wig is less flattering than others she has worn.

Reply 16 - Posted by: anonymous, 1/31/2013 7:47:56 PM     (No. 9151358)

The interesting thing is that Kelly Clarkson sang at the inauguration and she did it live. If Kelly can do it, why can´t Beyonce? The excuse about not having time to prepare is pathetic and speaks volumes about her attitude to the occasion.

Also interesting is that it took Beyonce about a week to respond to the inauguration controversy. This is about the same time it took Obama to respond to the Benghazi embassy attack.

#15 - Good response. What she should have said instead of denying it was "Of course, I did. If you want to hear me sing live, come to a concert." Did anybody REALLY go to this thing for the sole purpose of hearing Beyonce sing the National Anthem live? Really?

North Korea poses a “clear and direct threat” to the United States, the chief of the U.S. Pacific Command told a Senate panel Tuesday. Pacific commander Adm. Samuel Locklear said Pyongyang’s nuclear and ballistic missile tests are a threat to U.S. national security and regional peace and stability. He noted that North Korea is keeping a significant percentage of combat forces in the demilitarized zone, and said the United States and South Korean forces are "ready today" to respond should the Kim Jong Un regime stage an attack. Senators pressed Locklear to elaborate on how the U.S. military

SEOUL, South Korea – North Korea on Tuesday urged all foreign companies and tourists in South Korea to evacuate, saying the two countries are on the verge of nuclear war. The new threat appeared to be an attempt to keep the region on tenterhooks over its intentions. Analysts see a direct attack on Seoul as extremely unlikely, and there are no overt signs that North Korea´s 1.2 million-man army is readying for war, let alone a nuclear one. South Korea´s military has reported missile movements on North Korea´s east coast but nothing pointed toward South Korea.

Since when has it been considered smart to tell your enemies what your plans are? Yet there on the front page of the April 8th New York Times was a story about how unnamed "American officials" were planning a "proportional" response to any North Korean attack. This was spelled in an example: If the North Koreans "shell a South Korean island that had military installations" then the South Koreans would retaliate with "a barrage of artillery of similar intensity." Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

There was growing buzz over the weekend that a bipartisan agreement on gun control — a deal that would expand background checks — could hit the floor as early as this week. However, any deal could be derailed by the looming threat of a Republican filibuster involving Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. With Cruz standing proudly in the way of any gun legislation, Democrats are trying to make him pay a political price — and even a couple of high-profile Republicans are questioning his tactics.
