NRA chief: Foes using Sandy
Hook 'emotion' to ban guns

The president of the National Rifle Association Thursday warned that gun control advocates have their eye on a national registry of all firearms that would be used to force legal owners to sell them to the government. David Keene told reporters, "we have been, continue to be, and will continue to be very opposed to any kind of a national gun registry system for several reasons. The historic reason, of course, is that that is a precursor in many cases of confiscation." While he noted that Washington´s biggest gun control advocate, California Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein,

Comments:
I don´t doubt at all that is their ultimate goal. There are only a few Democrats who are stupid enough to say "confiscation" out loud. They are extremely capable of malicious, malevolent behavior, most especially 0bama and his fondness for executive orders.

If the Press were to include the words "Unregistered Hand Gun" or "Registered Hand Gun", this would show where the problem is.

Those poor poor families. Exploited in the midst of their nightmare.

No doubt they feel some duty to their dead children to do something, say something, anything.

But nothing will help them in their grief.

My heart breaks for them but we must get to the root of the problem and realize that the solution is involulntary commitment of the mentally disturbed.

As frustration over the United States’ broken immigration system has focused increasingly on President Obama, Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson said Wednesday that he will make sure that deportation efforts are aimed chiefly at those who pose a danger to public safety and national security. Johnson, who was sworn in as the fourth Homeland Security secretary late last year, made the promise in a closed-door meeting with Latino members of Congress who´ve been pressuring the administration to scale back the roughly 2 million deportations – a record – since Obama took office. Activists contend many people deported pose no threat. Members of the

The Wall Street Journal strongly suggested Wednesday that opponents of "comprehensive" immigration reform are mere racists, in a slew of commentary prompted by the controversy over former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush´s remark this week that illegal immigration was an "act of love." Though the Journal editorial page is often quite conservative, it frequently criticizes the Tea Party, and it tends to favor a liberal policy on immigration reform. In an editorial entitled "Jeb Bush´s Immigration Heresy," the Journal´s editorial writers assert that Bush has "already got a better immigration message than the self-defeating "self-deportation" crowd that cost the GOP so

Here´s what he was right about: There is indeed a culture in America that is pathological and now threatens our social fabric. It´s not the culture of poverty, though. It´s the

A caveat right off the bat: RAND’s estimate only runs through March 28 whereas the actual deadline for signing up was March 31st. Given the crush of traffic on Healthcare.gov in late March, many more people could have signed up over those last three days than were captured by these numbers. On the other hand, the White House was claiming six million sign-ups as of March 27. There’s no way to reconcile that with RAND’s data. One of them is wrong. Maybe both, in fact. Ms. Lerner faces a vote in the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee on Thursday that could begin the process of accusing her of contempt of Congress. The Ways and Means Committee announced that it will hold a vote Wednesday on whether to officially accuse Ms. Lerner of breaking the law by

How does the Republican Party establishment choose its presidential candidate? Typically, constitutionalists accuse their establishment rivals of being moderate, risk-averse, stubborn old fools who lack faith in conservative principles. This is a soothing interpretation, as it begins from the hypothesis that the contest between conservatives and the GOP elite is a family feud. But there is another hypothesis -- less soothing, but, at least from an outsider´s bird´s-eye view, more reconcilable with the facts. This hypothesis is that America has reached a stage of progressive soft despotism in which the only important family feud in national politics is between the fundamentally

My first published column was in a local paper opposing the Equal Rights Amendment for the same reasons that Phyllis Schlafly, a conservative lawyer, campaigned on. As ambiguously written, the ERA, would eliminate the men-only draft requirement, repeal protective laws like sexual assault and eliminate the tendency for mothers to obtain custody over their children in divorce cases. Ironically, one of the arguments that helped sink the amendment from ratification was the fear that single-sex bathrooms would no longer be permitted. In addition, opponents of the amendment also warned that it would lead to abortion on demand and same-sex marriages.

More than a hundred Republican Party elders gathered this weekend in Texas to celebrate George H.W. Bush’s legacy. But many of the event’s participants had another, much simpler agenda: launching a Jeb Bush presidential campaign. The two-day festivities featured a widely covered speech by Jeb.
