A number of pro-2nd Amendment groups have condemned a series of letters written by Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel encouraging both Bank of America and TD Bank not to honor credit lines with gun manufacturers, but so far, Emanuel is not facing any legal action for his interference in a private contract. Last week, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel sent a letter from his office to two banks, Bank of America and TD Bank, asking each to suspend doing business with gun manufacturers in the hope that this will pressure these companies into helping gun legislation pass.
Politicians have all kinds of ideas for the bankruptcy of Bank of America. Write off their home mortgages, don´t lend to gun manufacturers, government forced loans to those who have no income. Yee HAA, democrats are wizards of finance and ruin.
I can tell you one thing for certain: if either of these banks comply with Emmauels´ "suggestions" there will be a major pull-out of customers throughout the U.S. What a bunch of thugs these Chicago pols are (and I include our President and his illegal strikes against the Constitution).

It has to be a court case. Only a court can stop him, and only another court can make him comply with the first court, and only a third court can .... there´s no other way and we can only hope there are some brave judges out there.
By seeking to ban just about all modern firearms produced and sold in the USA, the liberal Democrats are affectively attempting to put most of the conservative oriented US small arms and relating industries out of business, as those industries could not survive bidding on the diminishing number of military small arms contracts. If the liberal Democrats are successful they will also be eliminating the tens of thousands of well paying American jobs that now exist in those industries.
Notice that the liberal Democrats have nothing to say about the Hollywood movie, and the video game industries that produce an unending stream of very violent movies, and addictive and very violent video games, that give the unsound minds of young people with mental disorders who grow up in places like peaceful rural Connecticut towns, ideas as they set out on their own personal suicide missions, that by committing criminally insane mass murders they can draw worldwide attention to themselves. That´s because the movie and video game industries are big time liberal Democrat financial supporters.
Who has access to your Social Security number, your bank information, and your tax records? When Obamacare’s health insurance exchanges open, your data could be exposed to shysters and hackers, thanks to serious vulnerabilities in the system. (Snip) THREAT #1: Obamacare “Navigators” Navigators are a group of people and organizations that are going to be facilitating signups for Obamacare’s insurance exchanges. Example: Planned Parenthood has applied for navigator grants to work with consumers.
I had a recent meeting with a priest, who said something to me that I would have never taken seriously prior to a year ago. He said, "You are fighting against real darkness." He was referring to my involvement in a movement to protect the rights of children to be raised by a mom and dad. For most of my life I´d been wary of anything that seemed superstitious. The Catholicism I knew as a youth was a liberation theology championed by my lesbian mother and articulated by radical priests who´d gotten involved in Central American insurgencies.
“IQ is a metric of such dubiousness that almost no serious educational researcher uses it anymore,” the Guardian’s Ana Marie Cox wrote back in May. It was a breathtakingly ignorant statement. Psychologist Jelte Wicherts noted in response that a search for “IQ test” in Google’s academic database yielded more than 10,000 hits — just for the year 2013. (Snip) There is a large discrepancy between what educated laypeople believe about cognitive science and what experts actually know. Journalists are steeped in the lay wisdom, so they are repeatedly surprised when someone forthrightly discusses the real science of mental ability.
Rather than responding to Ronald Radosh’s Frontpage review ofAmerican Betrayal, as a reasonable author might, Diana West has launched a series of personal attacks not only on Radosh but on the editors of Frontpage, calling us “hypocrites,” “totalitarians,” “ossified totalitarians,” commissars” and liars (“If Frontpage Will Lie about This, What Won’t They Lie About?”) and claiming we “suppressed” — also “purged” – a favorable review of her book because its opinions were “incorrect,” clearly implying that they were politically incorrect.(Snip) In other words, instead of answering the factual criticisms that Radosh has made of her book, she prefers to treat
Today, my review of Diana West’s new book, American Betrayal: The Secret Assault on Our Nation’s Character, has been posted on the website of the David Horowitz Freedom Center, Frontpagemag.com. (Snip) Indeed, what I argue in the review is that her book is actually a betrayal of serious and honest history, an ideologically bound argument that ignores real evidence, distorts our past, and creates a mythical counter narrative to understanding decisions made during WW II. Conspiratorial theories of history are easy to create once you are prepared to ignore the realities on the ground, or regard those who do
A wag might remark that it´s not all that difficult - just take a gander at the competition. A statistician argues that parents as a whole can´t control for the result. A public school educator demands parents not try because "ability status" is pernicious. (Snip) But by and large what shapes a child´s spirit from the earliest days are the morals they absorb from the stories they´re offered. Indeed it´s little understood in today´s world but as a parent it´s your job to feed their spirit with good stories as much as it is to feed
Many Americans at both ends of the political spectrum view history in conspiratorial terms. The late Senator Joseph McCarthy set the bar very high when he claimed to have uncovered “a conspiracy on a scale so immense as to dwarf any previous such venture in the history of man. A conspiracy of infamy so black that, when it is finally exposed, its principals shall be forever deserving of the maledictions of all honest men.” (Snip) Diana West, who expands the scope of this conspiracy in American Betrayal, is McCarthy’s heiress. She argues that during the New Deal
Anti-Islamization campaigner Pamela Geller is pushing back hard against the local police’s attempt to nix her Toronto speech earlier this year. She’ll be testifying before the Independent Police Review Director tomorrow. Meanwhile, Mendel Kaplan, the squishy rabbi who got bullied by the coppers into canceling Miss Geller’s appearance at his synagogue, has been giving his version of events: Asked whether he ever felt intimidated or threatened, he said, “There was a very clear choice laid out to me. The police said, ‘we don’t believe this agrees with [our] values, so either you have to give up your chaplaincy
In his first interview since his supervised release from prison, the filmmaker behind “Innocence of Muslims” told The Daily Caller that he “has no regrets” and promises more films and books about Islam. Nakoula Basseley Nakoula is the only person who has been imprisoned in the aftermath of the organized Sept. 11, 2012 terrorist attack on the U.S. embassy in Benghazi, Libya, in which the ambassador and three other Americans were killed. He was wholly unconnected to the attack and was imprisoned on technical probation violations.
Is college for everyone? That´s pretty much the conventional wisdom today, but I don´t think so. And, in fact, for some people, it may be actively damaging. In deciding whether to take ondebt-- and give up years of their lives -- in exchange for a college degree, applicants need to think more about potential downsides. And alternatives. When people think about college, it´s often through a gauzy veil of imagination and memory. For the kinds of people who write about college, the memories are often positive: To be in the position of (say) a newspaper columnist or a professor,
Years ago, I lived in a small walk-up apartment on East 47th Street in New York. (Snip) As far as I knew, I’d never run across gypsies before. Since then, living in Europe, I’ve encountered more than my share. It all began on January 1, 2007, when Romania and Bulgaria became members of the European Union – thus setting loose a torrent of gypsies that flooded from those two countries into every one of the richer EU lands to the West. Some of them resettled permanently; others began traveling back and forth, begging and stealing for a few weeks
Top Stories: The state-funded College of Charleston, located in Charleston, South Carolina, has assigned all its incoming freshmen to read “Fun Home” by Alison Bechdel, a graphic novel which contains pictorial images of lesbian sex, commentary on masturbation, and accounts of pedophilia. In total, the College has spent $39,000 for the distribution of this book to freshmen and will pay another $13,000 for a speech by the author this fall. Participation in the summer reading program is mandatory.
The sales assistant who refused to show U.S. talkshow billionaire Oprah Winfrey a luxury handbag costing nearly £25,000 claims the superstar lied about what happened in the luxury Swiss boutique where she works. Speaking anonymously to Sunday newspaper SonntagsBlick, the Italian bag lady said she felt ´powerless´ and in the grip of a ´cyclone´ after Winfrey went on TV in America to claim she had been the victim of racism. Winfrey was in Switzerland in July when she walked into the Trois Pommes boutique in Zurich looking for a handbag to match the outfit she was going to
In a story that has remained largely under the mainstream media radar, Congress announced late last month that it would finally investigate the Aug. 6, 2011 helicopter crash in Afghanistan that resulted in 38 deaths, including 22 members of SEAL Team 6, made famous three months earlier when they killed Osama Bin Laden. Grieving family members insist that soldiers in the elite unit were placed in unnecessary danger by the recklessness of the Obama administration, whose actions they characterized as criminal. “We’re going to dive into this,” said Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT),
LOS ANGELES -- Oprah Winfrey says she's "sorry" a media frenzy emerged after saying she experienced racism during a trip to Switzerland."I think that incident in Switzerland was just an incident in Switzerland. I'm really sorry that it got blown up. I purposefully did not mention the name of the store. I'm sorry that I said it was Switzerland," Winfrey said "I was just referencing it as an example of being in a place where people don't expect that you would be able to be there," she continued. In recent interview with "Entertainment Tonight," Winfrey recalled a clerk at an upscale Zurich boutique refusing to show her a handbag. Winfrey said she was told she could not afford the $38,000 purse. Staff has added more text.
On August 12, Joe DiGenova, attorney for one of the Benghazi whistleblowers, told Washington D.C.´s WMAL that one of the reasons people have remained tight-lipped about Benghazi is because 400 U.S. missiles were "diverted to Libya" and ended up being stolen and falling into "the hands of some very ugly people." DiGenova represents Benghazi whistleblower Mark Thompson. He told WMAL that he "does not know whether [the missiles] were at the annex, but it is clear the annex was somehow involved in the distribution of those missiles."
Last week I wrote a column about the reality that House Republicans are ready to cave on so-called comprehensive immigration reform. There was a final paragraph in that column my editor decided not to use. That is the editor’s right for two reasons: one, every site has a voice they wish to adhere to interns of form and content; and two, he who pays, gets the final say. Ironically, what was omitted by my editor was not lost on scores of astute letter writers who commented on the piece. I would like them to know that I have the same feelings
IRS? A system of voluntary tax compliance cannot survive a dishonest IRS. Lois Lerner and company have virtually ruined the agency. For the foreseeable future, each time an American receives a tax query, he will wonder to what degree his politics ensures enhanced or reduced scrutiny — or whether his name as a donor, activist, or partisan has put him on a watch list. Worse still, when a high commissioner of the IRS takes the 5th Amendment, it sends a frightening message: those audited go to jail when they refuse to testify; those who audit them who do the same
In the wake of a rodeo clown’s anti-Obama skit this weekend, the Missouri State Fair is forcing all clowns to undergo sensitivity training. The state fair commission voted Monday to ratify the decision to ban the clown in question who wore an Obama mask as the rodeo announcer asked if the crowd wanted to see him get run down by a bull. The crowd enthusiastically approved, according to local media reports. But the state commission went further, saying it will require that before the Rodeo Cowboy Association can take part in any future state fair, “they must provide evidence to
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Monday that she will soon tour the nation and deliver a series of speeches to promote more trust in government. She made her remarks at an annual American Bar Association meeting in San Francisco. More specifically, Mrs. Clinton said she was launching a series of speeches on foreign policy. And as part of those addresses, she planned to speak about the need to restore faith in government, Breitbart reported. She also bashed voter identification laws, telling 1,000 members of the
On Monday, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told the American Bar Association annual meeting in San Francisco that she would be launching a series of speeches about American foreign policy in the “next few months.” According to Philip Rucker, White House correspondent for The Washington Post, Hillary planned to emphasize restoring faith in government – an ironic theme, considering that she was a member of the current administration presiding over the rapid decline in faith in government. The speech today was clearly a launching point for a 2016 campaign. She put heavy emphasis on bashing voter
The father of one of three Florida teens charged in a vicious school bus attack said his son is “sorry” for taking part in the July beating that made national headlines. As the trio headed to court on Tuesday, Julian McKnight said his son Julian, 15, has also suffered in the aftermath of the July 9 attack on a Pinellas County school bus after it left Lealman Intermediate School in the St. Petersburg-area community of Gulfport. “All I can say is that he had his consequences already, you know?” McKnight said. “This is life. I am sorry what happened
The U.S. Air Force said that a well-known drag queen group was invited to perform on base during a “Diversity Day” celebration because drag is a “symbol of gay pride and unity. But the performance sparked outrage among some airmen who called the drag show “totally offensive and inappropriate.” Jewels and the Brunchettes performed to a small crowd at the Los Angeles Air Force Base on Aug. 8, the military confirmed. The Air Force said in a statement to Fox News that “Diversity Day” featured eight cultural groups and was meant to “foster equality and diversity in the workplace.”
On Sunday, Trayvon Martin’s father was named an honorary captain of the Florida A&M football team. Tracy Martin delivered a speech to the team on Sunday, after which coach Earl Holmes said, “I told him I’d love him to talk to the team. He came out and he was very, very encouraging…[He] got a standing ovation from our guys. He talked about just persevering and told the guys to keep on pushing through the hard times. The message he shared with the kids was very positive and they were very responsive.” Martin will do the pregame coin toss for FAMU
