The New Republic: “Have you ever fired a gun?” President Obama: “Yes, in fact, up at Camp David, we do skeet shooting all the time.” New Republic: ”The whole family?” Obama: “Not the girls, but oftentimes guests of mine go up there. And I have a profound respect for the traditions of hunting that trace back in this country for generations. And I think those who dismiss that out of hand make a big mistake.” — from an interview published Jan. 27, 2013
He lied. What really galls me is that he and Biden use water pistols playing around kids. Just this week a 6 year old was suspended from school for pointing his finger at another student. One student was suspended for having a paper gun at school. I think Biden ought to have to give up his annual water pistol game since he would look like a hypocrite if he didn´t. Oh, silly me, he IS a hypocrite!
I would be more believable if they said he tried out for the Rockettes. Skippy with a gun?? No way, it´s too manly of a sport. He rides a bicycle like a girl. Mooch exhibits more testosterone than Skippy.
Obama such a slick guy. He left himself an out and said ´´WE go shooting all the time...´´ at Camp David. He didn´t say ´´I go shooting...´´. The man is a real conniving piece of work. Always thinkin´ and never to be trusted.

I think it IS odd that Jay Carney had nothing to say about it. Marsha Blackburn challenges him to shoot skeet with her, and Carney flat out refuses to even take the question.
This lie is so bad, and so obvious, that they can´t even come up with a sufficient lie-over-lie to cover it.
He didn´t just say he partook: he said he shot skeet "all the time". And how does this differ from most of his other claims, e.g. being a constitutional law prof, etc. I´d love to know, also, why he and Michelle each handed back their law licenses right before they were taken----were this George Bush or a Republican....... and yet it isn´t even looked at. And for this we have the PRESS to claim, per usual.
Let´s get right to the point. If you´re building a 47-story building, you’re going to need an elevator. Unfortunately, that was a point overlooked by the architectural brain trust who designed the Intempo skyscraper in Benidorm, Spain. The condo building was initially meant to be 20-stories. When developers decided to move skyward, they reportedly neglected to reconfigure their plans to accommodate the necessary elevators. The Intempo was intended to symbolize hope and prosperity, showing that Benidorm was recovering from financial issues. What happens with the building remains to be seen,
A Texas-based encrypted email service recently revealed to be used by Edward Snowden - Lavabit - announced yesterday it was shutting itself down in order to avoid complying with what it perceives as unjust secret US court orders to provide government access to its users´ content. "After significant soul searching, I have decided to suspend operations," the company´s founder, Ladar Levinson, wrote in a statement to users posted on the front page of its website. He said the US directive forced on his company "a difficult decision:
LITTLE EGG HARBOR, N.J. — Sixteen workers from a county garage in New Jersey have one of the three winning tickets in the $448 million Powerball jackpot, officials in Ocean County, said Thursday. Ocean County Vehicle Maintenance Department Director Jim Pine and Freeholder Jack Kelly said the employees have the ticket sold at an Acme Markets store in Little Egg Harbor, according to the Press of Atlantic City. A Minnesota has man claimed his third of Wednesday´s jackpot. The holder of the third ticket, also from New Jersey, has not come forward yet. Pine said the Vehicle Maintenance Department
President Barack Obama hosted Apple CEO Tim Cook, AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson, Google computer scientist Vint Cerf and other tech executives and civil liberties leaders on Thursday for a closed-door meeting about government surveillance, sources tell POLITICO. The session, which Obama attended himself, followed a similar gathering earlier this week between top administration officials, tech-industry lobbyists and leading privacy hawks, the sources said. Those earlier, off-the-record discussions centered on the controversy surrounding the NSA as well as commercial privacy issues such as online tracking of consumers.
Wendy Davis says the darndest things. The Democratic star du jour was asked this week to explain the difference between the late-term abortions she fought to keep legal in Texas and the illegal killings by Philadelphia abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell. “I don’t know what happened in the Gosnell case,” she told the Weekly Standard’s John McCormack, who cornered her after her National Press Club speech on Monday.
If one Maryland town hall is any indication, Republican voters are not happy with how little Republican politicians are doing to reign in the government. Greta Van Susteren took viewers to a town hall where Congressman Andy Harris was confronted by constituents angry about NSA surveillance, the Obama administration, and Republicans not doing enough for them. One man scolded Harris, “We’re dying out here because you guys are being nice guys!”
The San Diego Chamber of Commerce has uninvited embattled Mayor Bob Filner from a trip to Washington, D.C. next month, the chamber’s CEO, Jerry Sanders, said in a letter to Filner on Wednesday. Sanders, a former mayor of San Diego, said the trip is a “critical opportunity for a regional delegation to advocate for policies that are vital to the region,” according to the letter posted by Fox 5 San Diego. “We simply cannot risk any major distraction that would further impede the region’s business,” Sanders wrote.
On Morning Joe Thursday morning, NBC News Political Director Chuck Todd bemoaned his network’s proposed NBC miniseries on Hillary Clinton, which, though it has not yet been written, has already raised criticism of a conflict of interest between NBC Entertainment and NBC News, including an ultimatum from RNC Chairman Reince Priebus to drop the project or lose any 2016 GOP debates. “This mini series is a total nightmare for NBC News,” Todd said. “There’s this giant firewall, we have nothing to do with it,
If an immigration amesty bill passes in this Congress-and there’s a definite chance it will–I know whom I’ll blame: Senator Ted Cruz. This might seem odd, since Cruz opposes amnesty. It’s not. Cruz was the national politician best positioned to stop the bipartisan, MSM-backed push for “legalization first.’ He not only failed to rise to the occasion, he’s recently increased its chance of becoming law. The two-count indictment: 1. He didn’t step up in the Senate: As a charismatic Latino apostate, Sen. Marco Rubio quickly became the leader
FORT HOOD –– The standby defense attorneys for Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan during his court martial asked the judge Wednesday to let them take over or reduce their role, arguing they are only assisting his attempt to be sentenced to death for the 2009 massacre on post. “It became clear during his opening statements; his goal is to remove impediments to the death penalty and he is working towards a death penalty,” said Col. Kris Poppe during the second day of testimony in the case
President Obama joined Jay Leno on Tuesday night for a wide-ranging interview that touched on everything from his recent lunch with Hillary Clinton to reassurances that the NSA surveillance programs are not as overblown as they’ve been made out to be. He also opened up about the international terror alert the government issued over the weekend. Obama admitted he was disappointed that Russia offered asylum to Edward Snowden,
This week’s shocking fire sale of the once-vaunted Washington Post to a home-shopping magnate was another inglorious jolt reminding us that newspapers have committed themselves to a slow and painful suicide. It was like watching a body in free fall from some high rooftop slamming off another window sill in its long journey to the pavement. When I was a boy growing up in a one-stoplight tobacco town in Southside Virginia, my father subscribed to a solid 12 pounds of newspapers every day from around the country.
The owner of a shop in Zurich where US talk show host Oprah Winfrey says she encountered racism has called the incident a "misunderstanding". Winfrey, one of the world´s richest women, claimed an assistant refused to serve her in an upmarket handbag shop. She was apparently told one of the bags on display was "too expensive" for her. Shop owner Trudie Gotz told the BBC that Winfrey was "absolutely allowed" to look at the $35,000 (£22,500) bag, which was kept behind a screen. "My salesperson wanted to give her the handbag in her hand. But she didn´t want
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie holds a narrow lead among Republicans for the party’s 2016 presidential nomination, but even more GOP voters say he’s the candidate they least want to see nominated. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that Christie earns 21% support when Republican voters are asked whom they would vote for if the party’s primary in their state were held today. Florida Senator Marco Rubio runs a close second with 18% of the GOP vote, followed by former Florida Governor Jeb Bush at 16% and Kentucky Senator Rand Paul with 15% of the vote.
Last month we learned that Megyn Kelly was leaving her daytime anchor gig to take over a Fox News primetime slot. According to an “exclusive” Drudge Report flash this afternoon, that time slot will be 9 p.m. ET. “Superstar newswoman Megyn Kelly has landed the 9 PM slot, top sources reveal,” the Drudge Report wrote. “The shock announcement is set for later this month.” Fox’s 9 p.m. hour is currently helmed by Sean Hannity, leading to speculation over whether he could be out of a primetime gig. There are many possible outcomes from this lineup change,
Retired 68-year-old US Army general and former NATO Supreme Allied Commander Wesley K. Clark has won yet another esteemed decoration — he is dating 30-year-old Shauna Mei, the founder of online retailer AHAlife.com. Clark, who was married to Gertrude Kingston Clark for 45 years before filing for divorce last year, is spending time with the young New York-based entrepreneur, who graduated from MIT and worked at Goldman Sachs as an investment banker before launching her luxury e-commerce site. Clark and Mei were spotted together recently in the Hamptons,
Nanny State: If any question remained about the Obama White House´s appetite for running everyone´s life from Washington, it should be settled now. This administration even wants to dictate neighborhood makeup. Like your neighborhood? Don´t get used to it. The Obama Department of Housing and Urban Development might decide it wants to dictate changes. HUD is, according to Fox News, considering "a new rule that would allow the feds to track diversity in America´s neighborhoods and then push policies to change those it deems discriminatory." The proposed rule, disclosed last month by HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan at
In a remarkable admission that is likely to rock the Internal Revenue Service again, testimony released Thursday by House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp reveals that an agent involved in reviewing tax exempt applications from conservative groups told a committee investigator that the agency is still targeting Tea Party groups, three months after the IRS scandal erupted.. In closed door testimony before the House Ways & Means Committee, the unidentified IRS agent said requests for special tax status from Tea Party groups is being forced into a special "secondary screening" because
“IQ is a metric of such dubiousness that almost no serious educational researcher uses it anymore,” the Guardian’s Ana Marie Cox wrote back in May. It was a breathtakingly ignorant statement. Psychologist Jelte Wicherts noted in response that a search for “IQ test” in Google’s academic database yielded more than 10,000 hits — just for the year 2013. (Snip) There is a large discrepancy between what educated laypeople believe about cognitive science and what experts actually know. Journalists are steeped in the lay wisdom, so they are repeatedly surprised when someone forthrightly discusses the real science of mental ability.
The Clintons have decided to rent a different house in the Hamptons this summer after they only received a small portion of their security deposit back from the home they rented last year. The famous Democrats have been frequent visitors to the expensive summer getaway in Long Island, and rented the same beachfront house in 2011 and 2012. [Snip] When it comes to rentals in the Hamptons, many owners use the security deposits as a way to pay for the utility fees like heat and grounds-keeping charges. It should be little surprise then that the Lily Pond Lane home
You can get a deconstruction of the media at many places. The people who visit the Treehouse want to see the entire context; The entire truth, as it presents. So here we go…. In any endeavor of corruption and misleading governance, the control of, and support by, the media, is an absolute necessity. The USSR needed Pravda to keep the ruse of governance for decades. The need of/by the U.S. government has steadily grown over the course of several progressive decades; but the urgency has increased exponentially over the past five years with the extremes
WASHINGTON—The White House announced that President Barack Obama will award the Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian award, to 16 recipients including television star and businesswoman Oprah Winfrey, legendary Washington Post editor Ben Bradlee and former President Bill Clinton. “The Presidential Medal of Freedom goes to men and women who have dedicated their own lives to enriching ours,” Mr. Obama said in a statement released by the White House. “This year’s honorees have been blessed with extraordinary talent, but what sets them apart is their gift for sharing that talent with the world.”
In an interview with Time magazine, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, explained that he respected President Obama and even modeled his own campaign for senate after his presidential campaign. “I think Barack Obama is an extraordinary politician,” Cruz said. “And I respect Barack Obama a great deal. I think he is committed to his principles, which is rare in politics.” Cruz also pointed out that Obama’s principles were “profoundly dangerous.” “I respect that he believes, I think genuinely, with all of his heart, that government control of economy and redistribution of wealth betters the world,” Cruz added.
Justice: The wife of a Fort Hood survivor claims the Defense Department is "slapping victims with gag orders" and telling family members not to talk to the press following testimony in the trial of Nidal Hasan. One of the great scandals of the Obama administration has been its shameful designation of the Nov. 5, 2009, rampage at the Army base in Killeen, Texas, by Maj. Nidal Hasan as "workplace violence." It has only compounded the pain and suffering of the victims and their families who have now apparently been ordered to shut up about it.
