It’s getting easier to get away with shooting people in Chicago. Last year, gunmen who shot and wounded someone got away without criminal charges 94 percent of the time, according to a DNAinfo.com Chicago analysis of police data. That’s even worse than 2011, when 91.5 percent of shooters escaped charges, according to the data.

Anyone can make more and more gun regulations and laws... ...it´s enforcing them that is really the key part to the regulation and law.

If laws worked there would be no crime.

Yet arrogant politicians think new laws they pass will be the ones to defy human nature and the lessons learned through 5,000 years of history.

I don´t want to sound racist, but the majority of Chicago shooting are black on black shootings. In Chicago at least blacks seem to be given a break by the criminal justice system. It would really look bad if they were all sentenced and sent to prison. No one wants to admit that we have a black crime/black culture problem. It´s easier to blame it on guns. If they did not have guns, they would be using pipes, machetes, and knives.

Any business that had performance numbers headed down toward 94% failure would have long, long, long, long ago started using other methods.

But unlike "the legal systems" [cops, courts, jails, etc.], business doesn´t have a guaranteed income stream.

Attaboy, Rahm!

#12: Let me suggest that it is an error to consider parts of Chicago, Camden, Detroit, D.C., and so on as parts of "America." They are self-evidently not. Proof? Over 70% of the counties in the US had no murders last year.

Its probably even worse than it looks. How many of those pitifully few prosecutions were against people who wounded some little puke trying to rob them? Probably a significant number because those were law abiding people who actually stuck around until the cops got there. They were the victim after all right?

Think how that must feel, watching the little crackhead who beat up your kids and almost killed you walk with a months unsupervised probabtion while you get 2 years for a weapons charge for keeping that same little puke from killing you.

New cable network Al Jazeera America introduced itself to viewers on Tuesday with reports on political strife in Egypt and the impact of climate change on U.S. cities, shortly after a major pay TV distributor declined to carry the channel. Al Jazeera responded by suing AT&T for breach of contract in Delaware Chancery Court. Globally, Al Jazeera is seen in more than 260 million homes in 130 countries. We found out it happened to her because she valet parked her car. Those are the only cars that get inspected. So if security feels it is necessary to search some cars in the name of safety, why not search all of them? Laurie Iacuzza walked to her waiting car at the Greater Rochester International Airport after returning from a trip and that's when she found it -- a notice saying her car was inspected after she left for her flight. With Chris Christie in deep trouble, Republican poobahs are reportedly looking to Jeb Bush to save their party in 2016. The former two-term governor of Florida speaks fluent Spanish, is a convert to Catholicism, and has high name recognition. Jeb could raise millions of dollars over night by just saying “yes” to running. Despite all this, there are strong reasons Republicans should say no to him. 1. His last name is poison. Let’s face it, if Jeb Bush had the last name of Something Else he would have already run for president in 2008 or 2012. According to a recent Washington Post/ABC News poll registered voters were asked if they would definitely NOT vote for Jeb Bush and 50 percent said they would not.
